CD Review: Garth Brooks – Man Against Machine

Garth Brooks – Man Against Machine

Garth Brooks is receiving a great deal of media in his ninth studio album “Man Against Machine”  His album consists of:
Man Against Machine, She’s Tired of Boys, Cold Like That, All-American Kid, Mom, Wrong About You, Rodeo and Juliet, Midnight Train, Cowboys Forever, People Loving People, Send “Em On Down the Road, Fish, You Wreck Me, Tacoma

Modern technology is changing the way people view, listen, think and create music.  The internet continues to significantly influence the music industry in this modern time.  From Twitter exclusive, on to Facebook live streaming  to intimate Instagrams, artists can really connect with their fans and followers.  A lot of country music singers learned to embrace the interactive elements to obtain a larger and stronger crowd.  They can surf their way to the top of the music charts as long as they know the ins and outs of technology and their target areas.  Of course, there’s no denying that  while maintaining a steady web presence is important for most artists’ promotional arsenal, it is more vital to have live shows or opportunities to be face-to-face with the fans which gives a lasting impression.  For Garth Brooks, it’s the face-to-face- connections that has the most value.  It’s his way to ramp up fan interaction and say thanks to his loyal followers.  He has great progress in country music while still keeping it firmly attached to its roots.  He is still the key influence to a lot of country music singers.

Garth Brooks, the undeniably iconic superstar in Country Music sums up his success in the album “Man Against Machine”.  It is a loving reminder of pouring your heart into pursuing your dream.  Whatever field you are in, you have to be willing to make sacrifices, do the hard work , sweat for it, fight for it and overcome challenges.

“Mom” written by  Don Sampson and Wynn Varble is incredibly touching and truly captures the love both God and the expectant Mom have for the baby who is about to be welcomed to the family.  It captured my heart when I heard it.  Indeed, music is a powerful influence in people’s lives. “People Loving People” is taking a step in comforting and uniting people during a crisis.  It strongly points us to God’s second greatest commandment, to love one another.  It reminds me of Michael Jackson’s song that goes, “There are ways to get there if you care enough for the living…Make a little space, make a better place...Heal the world, make it a better place for you and for me and the entire human race.”  In other words, let’s make Love a priority.  Every response, every act of goodwill, every thought must go through the fine filter of love.  The song emphasizes the importance of love and distinguishes the nature of love.

Fall In Love If You Want To
Gord Bamford

Hello!  I’m Camo, one of the hosts of Nashville Access. This week’s pick comes from a truly international artist.  Gord Bamford was born in Australia, grew up in Canada, and recently moved to Nashville.  I’ve been a fan of Gord’s for a number of years.  “Fall In Love If You Want To” is the latest single from Gord’s latest album, “Tin Roof.”

Written by Gord, with Phil ODonnell and Wade Kirby, “Fall In Love If You Want To has a more contemporary country instrumentation in order to fit into the soundscape of todays country radio, but Gords hard-core country vocals bring it back into the more traditional sound.  It also sits nicely in the middle of the fifteen tracks on the album.
Gord recently played a couple of dates in Switzerland, and his music is no stranger to radio, and country fans around the world.  He recently played a couple of dates in Mexico, and in March, heads off to Australia to play the CMC Rocks Festival.  If you’ve never listened to Gord Bamford before, this song is an excellent introduction to his music—and I’m pretty sure that it will further add to his awards collection in Canada.

Have a great week—and thanks for reading!

JUSTIN MOORE BASKS IN NEON LIGHT FOR "SOMEBODY ELSE WILL" MUSIC VIDEO

JUSTIN MOORE BASKS IN NEON LIGHT FOR "SOMEBODY ELSE WILL" MUSIC VIDEO

Co-Headlining AMERICAN MADE Tour Throughout 2017
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 19, 2017) – Chart-topping traditionalist Justin Moore trades his signature Country setting for a neon-filled club with today’s music video premiere for “Somebody Else Will.” Scenes capture the platinum-selling entertainer’s edgy performance split with a tension-building night out narrative, filmed at The Sutler in Nashville. Moore teamed up with director Shane Drake to once again bring lyrics like: “Cause somebody else will / If I don’t walk up and ask you your name / Right now, offer to buy you a drink / Sit down and tell you your looks could kill / Somebody else will” to life. Watch here.

“Shane and I have worked together a lot throughout my career,” said Moore. “He always does a great job of getting shots of me that portray the music and that’s a talent.”

Added Drake, “This song is super freaking cool and for this shoot day I really wanted to match that with the visuals. We are in a VIP underground club that has a futuristic/neon/Bladerunner vibe which you don’t typical associate with Country.”

Fans can also take a peek at the behind-the-scenes action now via smarturl.it/SEWbts.

Moore debuted “Somebody Else Will” on NBC’s TODAY, chatting with hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford in November. Watch it here. The second single serves as a follow up to the Arkansas native’s sixth No. 1 “You Look Like I Need A Drink” off KINDA DON’T CARE (The Valory Music Co).

Currently on the road with the AMERICAN MADE TOUR, Moore will kick-off the second weekend of dates with co-headliner Lee Brice today. For tickets, tour dates and additional information visit JustinMooreMusic.com.

AARON LEWIS CONTINUES SINNER TOUR WITH JAM PACKED SCHEDULE

AARON LEWIS CONTINUES SINNER TOUR WITH JAM PACKED SCHEDULE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 19, 2017) – Aaron Lewis is starting 2017 where he ended 2016…with sold out performances this past weekend in Greensboro, Raleigh and Charlotte and an upcoming sold out schedule promoting his critically acclaimed album SINNER (Dot Records).

The self-proclaimed “Northern Redneck” and Staind frontman achieved critical and commercial success with SINNER earning him the #1 position on the Top 200 Albums, Top Country Albums and Top Digital Albums Charts upon release.

The 12-track project, voted one of Whiskey Riff’s 40 Best Country Albums of 2016, was recorded in only 16 hours at Nashville’s Blackbird Studios with producer Buddy Cannon (George Strait, Merle Haggard, George Jones). Lewis single-handedly penned eight of the songs, in addition to covering Chris Stapleton’s “Whiskey and You” and The Dixie Chicks’ “Travelin’ Soldier.” Lewis collaborates with Willie Nelson on the album’s title track while Grammy® Award-winning artists Alison Krauss, Dan Tyminski and Vince Gill are also featured.

SINNER was also one of Billboard’s 10 Best Country Albums of 2016. "The no-holds-barred honesty of tracks such as “I Lost It All” and “Mama” were some of the finest writing from a male artist this year." – Billboard

The Boot raves, “Aaron Lewis shows a surprising understanding and respect for country music with his latest album, SINNER. Drawing from his childhood influences of listening to country music in his grandfather's car, SINNER shows Aaron's abilities as a singer, songwriter, musician and stylist. SINNER might just be the record that propels Aaron to a permanent place in country music.” Maverick Magazine’s Eric Dahl concurs, “Aaron Lewis brings a raw honesty to his songs on the new album SINNER that Country Music radio hasn’t heard in a long time. The imagery of the lyrics sucks you in, but his mournful voice and guitar keep you!”

DYLAN SCOTT WELCOMES 2017 WITH BIG STATS, RISING PROFILE

COUNTRY HEARTTHROB DYLAN SCOTT WELCOMES 2017 WITH BIG STATS, RISING PROFILE
Passes 1 Million In Stream Equivalent Songs, Climbing Chart With New Single “My Girl”
Sells Out Shows In Pittsburgh and Cincinnati

Nashville, Tenn. (January 19, 2017) – Curb Records’ recording artist Dylan Scott is set to make 2017 his breakout year, starting off strong with impressive new stats and a red-hot single.
Featuring his rumbling vocals and a romantically-charged real-life love story, Scott’s current single “My Girl” has now surpassed 1 million stream equivalent songs (SES), a combination of on-demand streaming and digital downloads. “My Girl” has been streamed over 19 million times on Spotify alone, with SES having topped 300,000. Radio listeners have also taken notice, boosting the song to #34 on Country Aircheck’s MediaBase Country Radio Airplay chart – the highest position of Scott’s career to date.
Written by the Louisiana native about the woman who became his wife, Scott says the tender story behind “My Girl” was “10 years in the making,” going back to when the couple first started dating in high school. It mixes intensity and tenderness, and Scott’s romantic authenticity continues to resonate with country fans. He and Blair Anderson were married in May of 2016.
Meanwhile, the rising star has also carried a strong touring presence into the New Year. After making his Grand Ole Opry debut and wrapping a successful opening spot on Lee Brice’s LIFE OFF MY YEARS Tour in 2016, Scott went on to perform in excess of 130 shows. He is currently playing select headline dates, and his first run of 2017 shows sold out in the key markets of Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.
Likewise, Scott’s self-titled album has continued to gather momentum. Released last summer to a Top 5 debut, it has gone on to help Scott rack up a total of 39 million radio plays on Pandora and over 70 million on-demand steams on services such as Spotify and Apple Music. Upon its release, Sounds Like Nashville called the album “well rounded and genre-bending,” while Taste of Country noted “the 13-track album is versatile, combining Scott’s love of traditional country with distinct pop and urban influences.”
With nationwide concert dates scheduled through the summer, Scott will visit cities large and small in 2017 – from New York City to Peru, Nebraska.
ABOUT DYLAN SCOTT:
A Louisiana native with a lifelong passion for country music, Dylan Scott is the total package – a powerful singer with a deep, resonating drawl; an old-soul songwriter with a young spirit; a heartthrob with an easy smile; and a dreamer who followed his father's footsteps to Nashville. Prior to landing his record deal, Scott learned the basics of singing and playing guitar from his dad – a former guitar player for country legends Freddy Fender and Freddy Hart. He then launched onto the country music scene in 2013 with “Making This Boy Go Crazy,” the debut single from his self-titled EP. His follow up, the infectious “Crazy Over Me,” debuted at #14 at on the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales chart and hit the Top 40 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. And in the summer of 2016, he released his debut album, DYLAN SCOTT, on Curb Records, along with the romantic new single “My Girl.” Having been named one of Spotify’s Spotlight on 2016 Country Artists, fans have streamed Scott’s songs a staggering 70 million times and counting, and sales have topped 1 million stream equivalent songs – figures that continue to grow by leaps and bounds. He is currently touring the country after wrapping his opening slot on Lee Brice’s 2016 LIFE OFF MY YEARS Tour.
