Interview with Bobby Tomberlin

A Twelve Pack with Bobby Tomberlin (Award-winning songwriter and my friend)

[1] Tell me, Booby, what is your earliest musical memory?
Singing "I Saw The Light" on a tree stump at my Grandparents home.

[2] If you were to be left on a deserted island for one year and you could pick three albums to be there with you and couldn’t pick any of your own, what would you pick?
   1.  Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison
   2.  James Taylor's Greatest Hits
   3.  Hank Williams Jr and Friends

[3] Which one of superman’s powers would you like to have?
Speed!

[4] Please finish the sentence: I would love to have been there in musical history when ____?
Hank Williams made his Opry debut.

[5] Your house is on fire – all your family, children and pets are saved. By the trick of fate you are told you can run in and get one item to carry out, what will you save from the flames?
A hat formerly owned by my buddy, Little Jimmy Dickens. He was like a Grandfather to me.

[6] If you could have dinner with George Washington or George Strait, which one would you chose and why?
George Washington. Can you imagine the conversation with our founding Father?

[7] Which song or album are you listening to the most right now?        The Essential Bobby Bare

[8] If you could record or perform a song with another artist or group, (dead or alive) who would that “dream duet” be?
Hank Williams Sr.

[9] If you could be given “songwriter’s credit” for writing one song that has already been written, what song would you pick?
“Sunday Morning Coming Down.”

[10] If you could get a phone call from one person in the world right now (living or deceased) whom would you like to hear from?
Phil Everly. He was a great friend and I miss his phone calls.

[11] If you had a $10,000 gift card, where would you go to spend it?
Sy Devore in Studio City, CA. They're a great clothing store that's been in business since the days of Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Elvis.

[12] What are you most proud of?
My friends.

About Lorrie Morgan
Sultry country songstress Lorrie Morgan has sold over eight million records including fourteen top ten hits, twelve recorded albums and four Female Vocalist of the Year awards. She was the first female artist to ever have three consecutive albums RIAA-Certified Platinum®. She made her mark with what have now become timeless country standards, “Five Minutes,” “Except For Monday,” “Something In Red,” “Watch Me” and “What Part Of No,” and established her place as a country star—a modern woman making country music history. Loretta Lynn Morgan was born to make music. At 13, she made her first and everlasting impression on the country music world when she played at The Grand Ole Opry, making her one of the youngest to have made her debut at the Mother Church of Country Music. Three short years later after her dad, country music star George Morgan’s passing, Lorrie launched her own career touring with her father’s band. She made history of her own when she became a lifetime member of the Grand Ole Opry at the age of 24 — one of the youngest to ever become a member.

Silverado Records Announces Plans For HISH's Upcoming Project

CEO of Silverado Records Scott Thomas says, "We're elated that HISH will rock the crowds at Stagecoach with this groundbreaking music. This is the perfect venue to do this, and we know the crowd there is going to be amazed."
More details about the EP will be announced closer to release.

About HISH:
Originally from Pennsylvania, HISH moved to Nashville in 2011 and began writing songs and DJ’ing at some of the biggest private events in Music City. The songwriter turned Artist-Producer quickly began to make a name for himself with his electro-infused spin on Country Music. In Spring 2015, HISH toured as direct support to Chase Bryant on his “Take It On Back” tour. In 2016 he has toured with Dustin Lynch on the "Hell Of A Night Tour.” He also held several successful performance slots at Country Music’s biggest festivals, including Stagecoach and Country Thunder. HISH signed with Silverado Records in 2016, and is currently in studio working on a groundbreaking EDM-meets-Country experience. His incredible take on the collision of Country and Dance music is unlike anything done before, and is sure to be a game-changer.

About the “Little Stage” at Bon Aqua: Housed within the newly opened “Storytellers Museum” in Bon Aqua, the new home of the historic “Little Stage” was originally the landmark General Store in Bon Aqua—converted later into a recording studio and often used by Johnny Cash as the stage of choice for regular “guitar pulls” that included Cash family members—June Carter Cash and The Carter Family—and friends like Waylon Jennings and Carl Perkins.  The “Little Stage” would become the regular home of the “Saturday Night In Hickman County” performances by local musicians. The old General Store is now beautifully restored as "The Storytellers Museum"--and the" welcome mat" is out to a new generation of music--and storytellers. The Little Stage is now open and featuring live music.
About “The Hideaway Farm”: Just over the hill from the “Storytellers Museum,” nestled in the rolling landscape of Hickman County, sits the pre-Civil War log home and farm owned for more than 30 years by Johnny Cash.  Considered his “creative retreat,”  the Hideaway Farm, now open to the public, houses the memories and spirit of its’ former owner—who called the land and the stately rustic home “The center of my universe.”
Both the Storytellers Museum and The Hideaway Farm are open to the public and rapidly becoming the new “must see” tourist destination for music lovers. They are located off I-40 West at TN Exit 172, Hwy 46S in Bon Aqua--a short drive west of Nashville.  Phone: 931-996-4336 for hours and ticket information or resource online.
