NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 15, 2016) – The Gospel Music Association just announced their nominations for the upcoming 47th Annual Dove Awards, and Country Music Hall of Fame member Jimmy Fortune was nominated in three categories. All nods came as a result of Fortune’s critically-acclaimed album Hits & Hymns, released in 2015. The project features some of Fortune’s closest friends, including Vince Gill, The Oak Ridge Boys, The Isaacs, Dailey & Vincent, Ricky Skaggs and more.

The Statler Brothers member picked up one nomination for “Bluegrass Recorded Song of the Year” for the track “Life’s Railway to Heaven,” which features The Oak Ridge Boys. The next nomination came in the “Country Recorded Song of the Year” category for the inspirational song, “I Believe,” featuring The Whites. Lastly, Hits & Hymns was nominated in the “Bluegrass/Country Album of the Year” category.

The 47th Annual GMA Dove Awards will take place in Nashville, Tenn. at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena on Oct. 11. The ceremony will be taped and air on Oct. 16 on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN).

About Jimmy Fortune:
Jimmy Fortune toured, sang and performed with the legendary Statler Brothers for 21 years. He joined them first as a temporary replacement for Lew DeWitt, after DeWitt heard him singing at a ski resort and recommended him. Following an audition in Nashville, Jimmy was contacted by The Statler Brothers and performed his first show with them on January 28, 1982, in Savannah, Georgia. Due to the debilitating effects of Crohn’s Disease, Lew was unable to return to the stage with the Statlers, and Jimmy was hired as a permanent replacement in August of 1982.

Fortune quickly lived up to his name. He wrote the group’s second No. 1 hit, “Elizabeth,” on their 1983 album Today, and followed that with two more No. 1 hits–“My Only Love” (from 1984’s Atlanta Blue) and “Too Much On My Heart” (from 1985’s Pardners in Rhyme). Fortune also wrote the top-10 hit “Forever” from 1986’s Four for the Show and co-wrote the top-10 hit “More Than a Name on a Wall” from 1988’s The Greatest Hits.

Jimmy and The Statler Brothers were inducted into the GMA (Gospel Music Association) Hall of Fame on October 29, 2007, and inducted into the CMA (Country Music Association) Hall of Fame on June 29, 2008.

After The Statler Brothers retired on October 26, 2002, Jimmy seized the opportunity to launch a solo career to share new music with his fans. His first solo CD, When One Door Closes, was released August 2003 on Audium/Koch. He released a gospel album, I Believe, in June 2005, a Christmas CD, Feels Like Christmas, in 2006, a live concert DVD in 2007 a country CD, “Windows” in 2009, “Lessons” in 2012, and “Hits and Hymns” CD and DVD through Gaither Music Group in 2015. The DVD debuted at #1 on Billboard. Jimmy is currently living in Nashville, writing, and touring.

Country Radio Seminar 2017

Core Panel Moderators Announced For Country Radio Seminar 2017

(Nashville, Tenn. – August 15, 2016) Five core panel moderators have been announced for Country Radio Seminar 2017.  The CRS 2017 core moderators are RJ Curtis (All Access), Gregg Lindahl (forty-year radio veteran), Bob Richards (Emmis Radio Indianapolis and WLHK/Indianapolis), Tom Baldrica (Midwest Communications), and Becky Brenner (Consulting Partner, Albright & O’Malley & Brenner Consulting).

Collectively, the core moderators will oversee and direct the bulk of the seminar’s educational panels, which will be held Feb. 22-24 inside the luxurious Omni Nashville.

This year welcomes Tom Baldrica and Becky Brenner to serve on the panel as well as returning moderators RJ Curtis, Gregg Lindahl, and Bob Richards from the previous year(s).

CRS Executive Director, Bill Mayne stated, "One of the best lessons we've learned was how crucial having moderators with a very special skill set can 'make or destroy' the best panel and audience interaction. Our Core Moderator program has eliminated 90% of the issues we endured for over 40 years! We are blessed by the efforts of these talented professionals and their major contributions!"
About the Moderators:

RJ Curtis launched his radio career fresh out of high school and spent 30 years in the business, 27 exclusive to Country radio and a combined 17 years in three decades at Country KZLA/Los Angeles. His tenure there included every aspect of on-air and programming including weekends, mornings, APD/MD, PD and OM. In 2007, RJ transitioned to Radio & Records as Country Editor before joining Arista Nashville’s promotion team in 2009 after R&R ceased publication. A desire to return to trade publications united him with Country Aircheck in 2011 where he served as VP/Country. He is currently the Nashville Editor of All Access.

Gregg Lindahl retired from a 40-year media career that began as a country music DJ at age 15, and ended as Senior Vice President for Digital and Strategy at Cox Media Group. Lindahl programmed country stations in Nashville and Oklahoma City, and he managed stations in Charlotte, Dallas, Portland and Chicago.  He led a consumer market research company and an Internet start-up. Since retiring, he has become an inadvertent consultant to a handful of digital start-ups and is an angel investor.
Bob Richards has nearly 25 years of experience in radio. His career began in New Castle, Indiana at WMDH AM/FM as air talent/PD/Ops Manager from 1987 to 1996 and spent 14 years in Indianapolis at WFMS-FM (95.5) as air talent/PD/Ops Manager from 1995-2009. Since October of 2009, he has served as Ops Manager for Emmis Radio Indianapolis and PD of WLHK-FM. In addition, Richards owns Pinehurst Productions, a full service video production company.

Tom Baldrica worked as the first program director and air personality at K100/USA Radio from 1987-1993 before relocating from Minnesota to Georgia to join BNA Records as their Southeast Region Promotion Manager prior to becoming VP of National Promotion. In 2006, he joined Sony Music Nashville and was crucial in career development for major acts like Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, and more. His leadership opened doors for him at Average Joes Entertainment and Show Dog Universal before securing a position at Midwest Communications as Corporate Country Brand Strategist while hosting Minn. country radio stations.

Becky Brenner has over 39 years of experience in radio.  She has held management, programming and on-air positions with Midwest Family, EZ Communications, ARS, Infinity and CBS.  Her primary station for 26 years was 94.KMPS-FM (Seattle), the 2004 CMA and the 2010 ACM Major Market Station of the Year.  She was also awarded the 2010 MIW Radio Group’s "Achievement in Programming” Award. Brenner was listed as one of the Top PD's (of all formats) in America by Radio Ink Magazine and has been named Radio Ink’s No. 1 Country Programmer five times including recognition as one of this year’s “Most Influential Women in Radio”.  She has served on the Country Radio Broadcasters Board of Directors for over 16 years (three years as President) and is a twelve-year member of the CMA Board of Directors.

Dylan Scott Launches Debut Album On Curb Records

Artist Development Story Continues with The Long Drive Live on Facebook
NASHVILLE, TN (August 15th, 2016)  Dylan Scott and his highly energetic fanbase have had the date August 12 circled on their calendars since Curb Records announced the release date earlier this year. Fans have flooded social media indicating the wait was worth it as the album quickly entered into the iTunes Top Country Albums chart early this morning.  The critics are buzzing calling “Scott’s 13-track release blends all of the singer’s music influences…all the while…Scott manages to convert the listener with each lyric he sings.” (Sounds Like Nashville).

Having recently hit the Billboard Top-40 on the Country charts with “Crazy Over Me,” the Louisiana native is currently climbing airplay charts with the exhilarating new single, “My Girl,” “…that’ll melt many a heart and one that could and should be his breakout hit.” (Roughstock).

To celebrate the launch of his self-titled debut album, Scott recently announced at the legendary Grand Ole Opry  “The Long Drive Live”, a one day promotional tour with Texas native Candace Payne, also known as Chewbacca Mom.  The promotional blitz includes live performances, surprise guests and more as the one day tour hits Dallas, Austin and Houston.  The unique event will be broadcast continuously over Facebook Live for the entire day on August 17th.

Already referred as the artist development story of the year, Dylan Scott’s lead up to the album launch included over 625,000 plays in the last seven days and over 4 million this quarter on Pandora alone.  Scott recently eclipsed the 500k downloads sold mark, finished this year's Life Off My Years Tour with Lee Brice, performed on national television and made his Grand Ole Opry debut.

As one of the most successful developing artists stories of the year, Dylan Scott rides a wave of momentum leading into his debut, self-titled album due out August 12th.  Drawn by his rich baritone, down-home personality and dynamic stage presence, Dylan has been winning over fans across the country one show at a time.  Following the success of his debut single, “Makin’ This Boy Go Crazy”, “Crazy Over Me” debuted at #14 on the Billboard Sales Chart earlier this year.  “My Girl” entered as the highest charting single its first week at #30 before hitting the radio airwaves.

Having been named one of Spotify’s Spotlight on 2016 Country Artists, fans have already consumed millions of plays on new music through his engagement across social media and streaming.  Scott recently eclipsed 500k in downloads sold, finished this year’s Life Off My Years Tour with Lee Brice, performed on national television, and made his Grand Ole Opry debut.
