KELSEA BALLERINI BIG APPLE WEEK

KELSEA BALLERINI HIT THE BIG APPLE THIS WEEK, PERFORMING SOARING SINGLE “PETER PAN” ON LIVE WITH
KELLY AND MICHAEL
ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year Joined in Mary Kay’s Global Day of Beauty

Nashville, TN (May 13, 2016) – Black River Entertainment’s Kelsea Ballerini hit the Big Apple this week to make her debut on LIVE with Kelly and Michael yesterday (5/12), performing her skyrocketing single “Peter Pan,” which launched into the Top 30 at country radio this week. Written by Ballerini, Jesse Lee and Forest Glen Whitehead, “Peter Pan” reveals a deeper side to the breakout artist and is the third single released from her critically acclaimed debut THE FIRST TIME.
In case you missed it, watch Ballerini here:

Following the appearance, Ballerini attended Mary Kay’s Global Day of Beauty to help create awareness of domestic violence and dating abuse – an epidemic that impacts one in three young people today. She performed for 50 survivors of domestic abuse, who were treated to a day of pampering and beauty. The Mary Kay Global Day of Beauty is a component of Mary Kay’s Don't Look Away campaign which works to educate the public on recognizing the signs of an abusive relationship, how to take action and to raise awareness of support services.
As announced earlier this week, Ballerini will co-host ABC's new music series “Greatest Hits” with Arsenio Hall, premiering Thursday, June 30 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT). Each episode will highlight a five-year period celebrating the biggest hits from that time. Each week, iconic music artists, as well as today’s music chart-toppers, will take the stage and perform the songs that defined the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. The six-episode series will feature special solo performances, never-before-seen duets and incredible tributes.
Racking up the accolades, Ballerini recently earned her first-ever ACM Award win for 2016 New Female Vocalist of the Year, the fan-voted Radio Disney Music Award for The Freshest - Best New Artist (all genre) and the American Country Countdown Award (ACCA) for Breakthrough Female of the Year. She recently earned a CMT Music Award nomination for Female Video of the Year for the playful #1 smash “Dibs.” The fan-voted award show will air live from Nashville on Wednesday, June 8 at 8 p.m. ET. Voting is now open on CMT.com and will continue through June 6 at 12:01 a.m. ET.
About Kelsea Ballerini
Kelsea Ballerini launched to stardom with two consecutive GOLD-certified, #1 smashes – "Love Me Like You Mean It” and follow-up “Dibs” – from her critically acclaimed debut album THE FIRST TIME. The Black River Entertainment recording artist is the first solo female artist in 15 years to hit #1 with her first two country singles and one of only 11 women to have ever hit the top of the charts with a debut. Abuzz with high-profile media looks, she has been named “The Country Sweetheart” in People Magazine’s elite “Ones to Watch” portfolio, touted by Billboard Magazine as “Country’s Next Queen,” praised by Rolling Stone as the “Nashville It Girl” and selected as one of CMT’s Next Women of Country. The talented singer/songwriter’s credit is featured on all 12 songs on her debut. Having shared the stage with Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban, Ballerini recently performed at the Country CMC Rocks Festival in Australia and will join select dates with Billy Currington this spring and Rascal Flatts this summer.

  ABOUT NITTY GRITTY DIRT BAND:
The iconic and profoundly influential Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, often cited as a catalyst for an entire movement in country, rock and American roots music, marks its 50th birthday of nonstop touring and recording vital music. Formed in California in 1966, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band consists of founding members Jeff Hanna (guitars/vocals), Jimmie Fadden (drums/harmonica/vocals), John McEuen (banjo/fiddle/guitar/mandolin), and Bob Carpenter (keyboards/accordion/vocals). The group has lasted longer than virtually any other group of their era with multi-platinum and gold records, including legendary hits “Mr. Bojangles” and "Fishin’ in the Dark” (certified platinum for digital downloads in 2014 and the longest recurrent country radio song of all time). Their groundbreaking 1972 Will The Circle Be Unbroken album, which assembled the living legends of country, bluegrass and mountain music to record what many critics have hailed as "an American treasure,” has been inducted into the U.S. Library of Congress and the Grammy Hall of Fame. "Mr. Bojangles" was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2010. Most recently the Nitty Gritty Dirty Band was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame, class of 2015.
