Emotional Hall of Fame Inductee Ceremony

Emotional Hall of Fame Inductee Ceremony

As in any place where there is a gathering of musicians, songwriters and people who make a living off of offering their hearts and emotions for anyone to take part of, there is certain to be laughter, joy, gratitude and tears.  So it was when Fred Foster, Charlie Daniels and Randy Travis were announced as the newest inductees to the Country Music Hall of Fame at a press conference in the Hall of Fame Rotunda at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville.

The class acts of the 2016 Class were presented by none other than Ms. Brenda Lee, who along with the preceding speakers, Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s CEO Kyle Young and CMA’s CEO Sarah Trahern, were stating that this year’s members-to-be are artists and music industry legends have had and have respect for the genre’s history while at the same time they’ve forged their own paths.
Although the inductees may not have collaborated with one another, they have it in common that they all originally come from North Carolina.  The inductee in the Non-Performer category, Fred Foster, who was born on a farm in Rutherford County, N.C., was instrumental in starting the careers of Dolly Parton (released her first album producing the hits “Dumb Blonde” and “Something Fishy”), Roy Orbison and Kris Kristofferson.  In Foster’s speech, he gratefully said “I’ve always been a big dreamer, but this is too big.”  Brenda Lee revised his statement with “Today is not a dream, it is called validation.”  Next to be validated for his work at the announcement ceremony was Charlie Daniels, an artist originating from Wilmington, N.C., who despite being honored in the Veteran’s Era category, is in full swing with no plans to retire.  He is neither slowing down: still touring with 100 concert dates per year in his prime years of being 79 years young.  His first utterance as he eased in behind the microphone was “I am flabbergasted.”  The “Devil Went Down To Georgia” true Southern country rocker started out in his own bluegrass band transitioning to his unique rowdy country style through rock ‘n’ roll and R & B even having a song of his recorded by Elvis.  Charlie was touched by the moment in the revered Hall of Fame’s Rotunda saying his thank you’s with a slight tremble in his voice.  Touching is also an understatement describing the introduction and acceptance speech held for former North Carolina Marshvillian Randy Travis.  Ms. Lee could not hold her tears back and neither could many of the attendees when she spoke about Travis’s remarkable journey through his life and his recent miraculous recovery after a lengthy hospitalization due to a heart condition and on top of that suffering a stroke.  As miraculous as Randy Travis’s recovery is, is also his career.  His wife Mary Davis-Travis was his voice during the ceremony and conveyed stories that Travis had told her.  One of when he and his brother Ricky started out performing, but Ricky chose not to sing.  That was the starting point for the Randy Travis we know and have come to love.  “Forever And Ever” and “1982”, “Digging Up Bones”, “On The Other Hand” and “Three Wooden Crosses” – his legacy and Fred Foster’s and Charlie Daniels’s are now going to be remembered forever along with the living and breathing soul of country music already well represented with plaques in the Rotunda.

Foot note: The inductees will become official members of the Country Music Hall of Fame in a Medallion Ceremony later this year.

THOMAS RHETT BEST FRIEND IS BUDWEISER

CBS This Morning To Profile The Three-Time ACM Nominee’s Musical Journey Tomorrow

Nashville, TN - Mar. 31, 2016 - Multi-PLATINUM singer/songwriter Thomas Rhett continues to establish himself as one of music’s hottest artists as he aligns a new sponsorship with the ultimate American beer:  Budweiser. The two will join forces on the road this summer to roll out one-of-a-kind experiences for fans with a digital content series and surprise performances throughout the country.

"We're always looking for a way to do something cool and new with our fans," said Thomas Rhett. "I already know we're going to have a good time this summer out on the road, but teaming up with Budweiser is going to make the experience that much better. It's going to be something all our fans can get into on the road, but also at home when they can't make it out to a show."

Thomas Rhett's latest milestone contributes to his long list of accolades including Sunday night's recognition at the 51st Annual ACM Awards where he will perform the ACM "Song of the Year" nod "Die A Happy Man" off of the ACM nominated "Album of the Year," TANGLED UP (The Valory Music Co.). Leading into the awards, CBS This Morning (8:00A CST on CBS) will tap into the singer’s successful journey this tomorrow during an in-depth sit down interview.

“One of country’s perennial 'next big things’” (Noisey) Thomas Rhett recently delivered the new single “T-Shirt," which continues to escalade into the Top 20 just seven weeks after its release. Continuing the success of his sophomore album TANGLED UP, the album has already solidified two back-to-back PLATINUM No. Ones with “Crash And Burn” and the record-breaking smash 2x Platinum “Die A Happy Man.” Following five consecutive No. ones, the six-week chart topper “Die A Happy Man” recently reached its 17th frame atop the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and continues to standout as a top-selling digital track. Additionally, TANGLED UP has drawn international attention as “Die A Happy Man” makes its way overseas following the success of “Crash and Burn,” as it was added as record of the week at all UK radio and makes its way to playlisted.

While pushing “the genre into exciting new territory” (New York Times) the multi-PLATINUM singer/songwriter recently wrapped his first oversees run and will continue to headline sold-out dates along with serving as direct support for Jason Aldean’s WE WERE HERE 2016 TOUR.  For more information and for a full list of upcoming tour dates, visit www.thomasrhett.com.

ABOUT BUDWEISER:
Budweiser, an American-style lager, was introduced in 1876 when company founder Adolphus Busch set out to create the United States' first truly national beer brand – brewed to be universally popular and transcend regional tastes. Each batch of Budweiser stays true to the same recipe and ingredients used by five generations of Busch family brewmasters. Budweiser is a medium-bodied, flavorful, crisp and pure beer with blended layers of premium American and European hop aromas, brewed for the perfect balance of flavor and refreshment. Budweiser is made using time-honored methods including "kraeusening" for natural carbonation and Beechwood aging, which results in unparalleled balance and character.

LOCASH TOUR BUS DOUBLES AS TATTOO

LOCASH TOUR BUS DOUBLES AS TATTOO PARLOR
FOR CHRIS LUCAS'S NEW INK

Lucas Says New Tattoos Celebrate Influential Songs
and Life-Changing Experiences

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 31, 2016) – Wanting to get a new tattoo and need an artist? Chris Lucas of country music duo LOCASH might “Know Somebody”. The top-charting “I Love This Life” singer has proven just how impactful the recent No. 1 single has been for him and bandmate Preston Brust with a tattoo in its honor.

Thanks to the success of “I Love This Life” and the brand new single “I Know Somebody” climbing the charts, the hit-making duo has been busier than ever. A stop at the tattoo parlor may not be the easiest to pencil in when on a nationwide tour, but where there’s a “wheel” there’s a way. While passing through Kansas City, Kansas on tour, Lucas dialed up local shop Shrunken Heads and invited one of their artists to tattoo his left shoulder in the back lounge of the LOCASH tour bus.

“I get a star tattoo for any song I write or sing that changes my life, and ‘I Love This Life’ definitely did,” says Lucas of his new ink.

Lucas’ life has been full of impactful moments lately, as he and his wife welcomed their second child, Remi McKenna Lucas, last week on Monday, March 21. Lucas recently got a tattoo to commemorate the birth of his new baby girl with her full name on his arm.

As the current single “I Know Somebody” rises on the charts, there may be another tour bus tattoo on the horizon for Lucas. The highly anticipated follow-up to “I Love This Life” salutes LOCASH’s loyal fan base, to whom Lucas and Brust credit their success.

Both songs come from the duo’s current E.P., I Love This Life, their first E.P. release from the Nashville and New Jersey label, Reviver Records. The E.P. is available for download on iTunes and Amazon.

Which tattoo parlor will be the next to turn the LOCASH tour bus into its studio? Make your guess by checking out the duo’s upcoming dates below:

WEEZER

Aprilscherz? Keineswegs!
At The Disco auf großangelegte Nordamerika-Tour.

ANDRA DAY

The Bodyguard) vor.

BLONDE feat CRAIG DAVID

“More than just a feeling, this is more than just a crush … I ain’t felt nothin’ like this, like this, no I ain’t felt nothin’ quite like this”, singt 2Step-/Garage-Legende Craig David im poppig-melodischen Refrain der brandneuen Blonde-Single und läutet sein Comeback ein.
