Dolly Parton Announces “Pure & Simple” Tour + New Album
For the first time in 25 years, fans of Dolly Parton in the United States and Canada will have their favorite Backwoods Barbie touring across the North American nations, coming to a town near them.
It was announced during a well attended press conference in Nashville on March 7, 2016 that the country music icon will do a follow up on her huge success, the movie “Coat Of Many Colors”, with a double CD titled “Pure & Simple with Dolly’s Biggest Hits”, along with the most extensive tour she’s been on for a quarter of a century. The title is referring to the downscaled arrangements of the music and the setting on stage will be “without the fireworks and all that”. In her own usual, jovial Dolly manner, she is describing the choice of moving to a more intimate and acoustic show as kind of a way to “go back in time”, and to give people a taste of what her family upbringing and music sounded like. As she says: “The movie ‘Coat Of May Colors’ is really more about family than about me”, and she continues that she misses those types of programs on TV herself. When she is describing her new projects, she is using the word excited extensively, and you can tell she really is.
Despite of, or rather in addition to her glamorous outside, Dolly is much more than an artist and an image and that is displayed with hard-to-hold-back-tears when the recent passing of Joey Feek is mentioned. She is sincerely choked up talking about how special Joey was. And Dolly shows her affectionate and sentimental side and love for her family while talking about how hard it was for her to sing “Coat Of Many Colors” for many years after the passing of Dolly’s mother. After all, it is so much more than a song: it is an actual event and an act of love and a gift from a mother to a child. Speaking of family events, the Dolly owned theme park Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee has some new attractions this year: one of them is the world’s not only fastest, but the world’s first launching wooden roller coaster and it has been named Lightening Rod. Most appropriately, its riding cars are designed to look as hot rods from the 1950s. The new attraction has a top speed of 73 mph (117 km/h). And just like her park and roller coaster, Dolly is always on full throttle: in addition to working on her new “Pure & Simple” album, a tour, her theme park and Imagination Library (a charity giving the gift of story books to children), she is already planning a Christmas TV show as well. Dolly readily proclaimed that she is never going to retire. She celebrated her 70th birthday in January and Is having a 50 year Anniversary wedding vow renewal in May, but what reveals her “real age” (is there such a thing?) is the title of one of the new songs on her upcoming CD: “I’m 16”. And … aren’t we all?
The double album’s track listing and details will be announced later, but it will include her biggest hits along with some newly written material. Dollywood opens on March 19 and the movie “Coat Of Many Colors” is going to be released on DVD May 3, just in time for Mother’s Day.

Dolly Parton set for a major North American tour and a new double album
Dolly Parton is a piece of work, as they say here in Tennessee. She also celebrated her 70th birthday January 19th. Dolly and her husband Carl Dean will celebrate 50 year wedding anniversary on May 30th. She has been shopping for a weddingdress and Carl has been suit shopping she announced to the crowd. She said, “There were only four of us at the Church in
Ringold, Georgia in 1966 and I want to have the big wedding, I never got to have.”
With enough achievements under her belt to fill several lifetimes for most people, Dolly shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, if any thing she’s more like her new roller coaster: speeding up.
At a press conference in Nashville, she announced that she is set to bring her boundless energy to stages in 60+ cities as part of her first major tour of the United States and Canada in more than 25 years. She has only played ‘select dates’ over the past two decades, but 2016 will find her playing cities across North America. The full list of tour dates and venues will
be released shortly.
Dolly said that the set list for the tour will of course include many of her hit songs while weaving in new songs from her double-disc album, ‘Pure & Simple with Dolly’s Biggest Hits.’ The album, she revealed, will feature one disc of familiar hits and a second disc of all-new material.
The Country Music Hall of Famer is on one of the biggest hot streaks of her career after her hugely successful TV movie, “Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors,” attracted a network record of 15.8+ million viewers and was the most watched movie on network TV in more than 3 years. “Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors,” will be released on DVD May 3.
And that rollercoaster? Dolly confirmed that 2016 will see the launch of “the World’s Fastest Wooden Roller Coaster” at Dollywood in the Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee. Named Lightning Rod, the coaster will top 73 mph and is part of a projected $300 million that will be invested in upgrades at the famed resort and theme park. Also new at Dollywood: “Festival of Nations,” a series of shows scheduled for March 19 through April 18, 2016, featuring live performances from Argentina, Ecuador, Nova Scotia, France, Germany, The United Kingdom and more.
Dolly also revealed that, following the success of “Coat of Many Colors,” negotiations are underway for more television and film projects in the future. Dolly also confirmed ‘Jolene’ already in the works.
At one point, Dolly took a moment to comment on the sad passing of country artist, Joey Feek. “The Lord needed Joey Feek more than we did,” she said.
Dolly had the full house of media outlets in laughter while she announced all the great things coming up including with a new double album, an upcoming North American tour and a major investment in Dollywood, it seems Ms Parton, like her roller coaster, is on a roll.

THE “DISTINCT SOUND” OF TUCKER BEATHARD’S DEBUT SINGLE “ROCK ON” HITS RADIO AIRWAVES TODAY AS ONE OF THE MOST ADDED TRACKS IN THE FORMAT
Nashville, TN - Mar. 7, 2016 - Showcasing "his strong songwriting [and] gritty rock-country voice,” (Taste Of Country) Tucker Beathard’s debut single “Rock On” is one of the most added songs at radio today. Beathard plays both lead guitar and drums on the track that spotlights his “hard country edge” (Rolling Stone), in addition sharing co-writing credits with Marla Cannon-Goodman and his dad hit songwriter Casey Beathard.
“It’s always been a dream to hear myself on the radio,” said Beathard. "I've learned a lot and had a lot of fun thus far in my career, and have loved sharing my music with people in every bar, club, festival and arena. Now getting to share it through the radio I'm fired up to see what happens and keep on taking more steps."
Beathard's family ties in music run deep, with dad Casey Beathard penning songs like Kenny Chesney’s “Don’t Blink” and Eric Church’s “Homeboy,” the latter inspired by his son's rebellious phase. He picked up the guitar and drums at the age of 10, often playing in a band with his two brothers. While his brothers strayed away from music to chase another family legacy in football by becoming star quarterbacks, Beathard is following his dream of writing and playing music. For an inside look at Beathard's story, click here. This year holds a stacked touring schedule for Beathard, who was recently tapped by country superstar Dierks Bentley for his summer tour, which will also include his first stint overseas in The UK and Ireland in April. He is currently working on his debut album, being overseen by producer Angelo Petraglia (Kings Of Leon), and has already been featured on multiple “Artists To Watch” lists including The Bobby Bones Show, Huffington Post, Rolling Stone and more.
