Sheryl Crow to Headline July 4 Celebration at New Location

Sheryl Crow to Headline July 4 Celebration at New Location
Free Concert Moves to Two Stages at Ascend Amphitheater and The Green at Riverfront Park
Lineup Includes Maddie & Tae, Ruby Amanfu, Erin McCarley, Andrew Combs and
Nashville Symphony Orchestra

NASHVILLE – Nine time GRAMMY-winner Sheryl Crow will headline Nashville’s July 4 celebration, which will include six acts in concert on two stages at Ascend Amphitheater and The Green at Riverfront Park, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp announced today. Let Freedom Sing! July 4 in Music City presented by Dr Pepper is a free, family-friendly event that also showcases the GRAMMY-winning Nashville Symphony Orchestra and one of the largest fireworks shows in the country.

“With two stages and six acts, our free July 4 concert will showcase the great talent and the diversity of genres creating and performing music in Music City,” said Ken Levitan, board chair of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp and co-president of Vector Management. “This exciting new location will be a great venue for attendees to see and hear all the free music, and it will open up Lower Broadway for those interested in viewing the spectacular fireworks show. We expect tens of thousands of visitors to enjoy our Independence Day festivities, filling up hotel rooms across Davidson County and generating economic activity that is good for the city.”

This year’s diverse line-up pays particular homage to Nashville’s strong indie and alternative scene and features Erin McCarley, Andrew Combs and Ruby Amanfu, who will open the free concert at 5 p.m. by starting her set with the National Anthem. Also sharing the bill is breakout country duo Maddie & Tae. Crow will headline the concert, followed by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, which will be led by Associate Conductor Vinay Parameswaran, accompanying the fireworks show.

New features this year include the following:
·         New location at Ascend Amphitheater and The Green at Riverfront Park to open up Lower Broadway to spectators viewing the fireworks. The Green is grassy park space behind Ascend Amphitheater in the new section of Riverfront Park.
·         Two main stages – the Jack Daniel’s Stage at Ascend Amphitheater and the Music City Stage at The Green at Riverfront Park.
·         Multiple screens throughout the event site so attendees don’t miss any of the performances.
·         Free McDonald’s Family Fun Zone that opens at noon.
·         Earlier live music start time of 5 p.m., giving families plenty of time to enjoy the free music before the evening gets too late.
Festivities will also take place on July 3, starting at 3 p.m. All times and artists subject to change.
Let Freedom Sing! July 4 in Music City is produced by the NCVC for the city of Nashville. It is presented by Dr Pepper and partners include Advance Financial, Anderson Benson Insurance, Carl Black Chevrolet, Kroger, McDonald’s, Durango Boots, General Jackson Showboat, Budweiser, Bud Light, and Jack Daniel’s.

PBS Pledge Special Airs March 2016, Check Local Listings
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 3, 2016) – The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (Jeff Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter and John McEuen) will host a star-studded televised PBS special throughout March that was filmed at the historic Ryman Auditorium during a sold-out performance as the iconic group celebrates its 50th anniversary. Click here to find dates and times for when the PBS Pledge Special airs in your hometown.

The special also features guest artists, including John Prine, Sam Bush, Vince Gill, Jerry Jeff Walker, Alison Krauss, Rodney Crowell, Byron House, and Jerry Douglas as well as former members, Jimmy Ibbotson (long-time member for decades) and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and early NGDB member Jackson Browne.

“We are so humbled and honored to share the stage with these legendary artists who we’re grateful to call friends. And now our fans will have an opportunity to enjoy this historic show thanks to PBS and the Tennessee Department of Tourism,” Jeff Hanna said.

The special is made possible with support from the Tennessee Department of Tourism. “I’ve been a fan of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band for most of my life,” said Commissioner Kevin Triplett, Tennessee Department of Tourist Development.

“The influence of the band goes far beyond the enjoyment of listening to its music. There are pivotal projects in the history of music that are capable of changing a direction of a genre and raise awareness of an entire generation. It is not an overstatement to say the “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” album is one of those projects. Having the band launch their 50th anniversary celebration from the Mother Church of Country Music – The Ryman is more than appropriate, it is ordained. We’re fortunate to have them as part of ‘The Soundtrack of America, Made in Tennessee,’” Commissioner Triplett added.

There will be an accompanying CD and DVD that include extra songs and performances as well as concert tickets and meet and greets in select markets available exclusively through PBS member stations.

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band continue non-stop touring in celebration of their Golden 50th anniversary planned to run through the end of 2017, with many additional dates to be announced. Plans are to be extensive with select shows featuring special guests in select markets as well as many new exciting show elements. This will be a tour not to be missed.

The lineup consists of 2014 CMA Song of the Year Award winners Kacey Musgraves and Shane McAnally, who will be joined by hit songwriter and two-time CMA Awards nominee Josh Osborne.
“This trio of writers represents the highest echelon of talent for the current era of Country Music,” said Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “CMA is excited to partner with another prestigious festival like South by Southwest and expose different audiences to the incredible songwriting talent in the Country community.”

The CMA Foundation focuses on improving and sustaining music education programs everywhere, while supporting worthwhile causes important to CMA.
Musgraves is a 12-time CMA Awards nominee who claimed trophies for New Artist (2013) and Song of the Year (2014) for penning her hit “Follow Your Arrow,” which Rolling Stone listed at No. 39 on their list of 100 Greatest Country Songs of All Time. A Texas-native and Nashville-based singer/songwriter, Musgraves released her Mercury Records Nashville debut album, Same Trailer Different Park, in the spring of 2013 to massive critical acclaim and recognition. The album, which she co-produced with McAnally and Luke Laird, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart making her the first solo female in five years to open at No. 1 with a rookie release, and just seventh in the 22-year Nielson SoundScan era. The Gold album includes her Top 10, Platinum single "Merry Go 'Round" and Gold hit “Follow Your Arrow.”

(Trommelwirbel) via Warner!
Neben den bereits erschienenen Singles “Thank God For Girls” und “Do You Wanna Get High” sowie dem zuletzt veröffentlichten “King Of The World”, enthüllen die Kalifornier nun mit ihrer brandneuen Single “L.A.

Annie Lennox) co-produziert.

23.05. Köln, Stadtgarten
24.05. Osnabrück, Lagerhalle
25.05. Hamburg, Mojo Club
