Kenny Chesney All Time High

Kenny Chesney Closes The Big Revival With A Record

12th & 13th Shows at Gillette Stadium See 120,206 Fans Rocked

FOXOBOROUGH, Mass. – Kenny Chesney’s decade-long love affair with Gillette Stadium – the place where his rabid No Shoes Nation was named – hit a new high this weekend. Having set and broken his own record myriad times, the man The Dallas Morning News called “two parts Mick Jagger, one part Bruce Springsteen and one part Billy Graham” hit another new number tonight (Saturday, Aug. 29).

With 60,082 fans Friday and 60,124 fans Saturday, Kenny Chesney played to 120,206 fans this weekend. Without final tallies, it was already determined that in nine trips to Foxborough, Chesney played to over three-quarters of a million fans. With a tent show revivalist’s fervor, the man The Wall Street Journal called “The King of the Road” never slowed over 2 1/2 hours each night – prompting The Boston Globe headline: “Crowd belongs to Chesney at Gillette.”

“Some nights you just know you’re going new places up there,” Chesney said after the show. “I could hear the fans long before the swing was above the platform – and flying over all those heads, seeing the faces, I could tell Boston had been waiting for these shows almost as much me and the band had! The No Shoes Nation are some of the fiercest, most passionate music lovers – and there is nothing like the way they come at these songs.”

Wearing a Grace Potter & the Nocturnals t-shirt the first night as the crowd almost drowned him out on “American Kids,” Chesney embodied the euphoria of truly being alive and in the moment. He brought Matthew Ramsey and Brad Tursi from stadium opener Old Dominion out for “Save It For A Rainy Day,” which they co-wrote; then introduced David Lee Murphy as “the original Hillbilly Rock Star” for “Dust On The Bottle” and “Party Crowd.”

“And just when you think it can’t get any better, the last night of the tour hit,” Chesney continued. “The audience was even louder, live-er and sang every single word back to us! You can’t begin to imagine something like that, and knowing we’re putting the tents up for another year, we’ll hear their cheers until it’s time to start it up again for next year.”

Performing “She Came From Boston” for a second straight night, Chesney then had songwriter/vocalist Gretchen Rhodes join him to share the highly emotional “Happy On The Hey Now,” written as a memorial for one of the original pack of island girls he befriended long before superstardom hit. Tourmate Cole Swindell appeared in a t-shirt from Chesney’s alma mater East Tennessee State University and Robert and John Kraft brought the Patriots’ four Super Bowl trophies onstage during an especially poignant “Boys of Fall.”

“We moved the stage all the way back,” Chesney said of the landmark nights. “The only way we’re gonna get more people in is to add another night, and that would be crazy. But man, when you hear those folks singing back to you… see all those arms sweeping from side to side… We could be up there all night! Just the way that energy hits you, there’s nothing like it.”

Bringing co-headliner Jason Aldean out for the encore, Chesney wore baggy No Shoes Nation basketball shorts and no shoes. Having set or broken records in Minneapolis’ Target Stadium, Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field, Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ’s Met Life Stadium, Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field, Green Bay’s Lambeau Field, as well as putting 55,000 in the Rose Bowl, he brought all that collected energy to his final concerts of the Big Revival 2015 – showing the world why he is the only country artist on Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Last 25 Years.

Nashville, TN (August 28, 2015) – Columbia Records’ country quintet Home Free is set to make a splash with the world premiere of their new track and music video, “Fishin’ in the Dark / Down in the Boondocks,” exclusively on USAToday.com today (8/28).  The mashup combines Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s classic #1 hit “Fishin’ in the Dark” with Platinum-selling country group Little Big Town’s contemporary “Boondocks.” The song is featured on Home Free’s third studio album, COUNTRY EVOLUTION, due out on September 18.

“When we started brainstorming about what songs evoke the spirit we want to convey on our new album, we thought, what are some of country’s biggest hits? Why not ‘Fishin’ In The Dark’ with something more recent? Little Big Town’s ‘Boondocks’! You wouldn’t think the styles would really mesh, but they do,” said the band’s high tenor, Austin Brown. “We messed around with them for a few weeks and they’re great together. The video is a blast too! We can’t wait for everyone to check it out!”

Directed by FifGen Film’s Reilly Zamber, McKenzie Zamber and Jimmy Bates, the music video splices both thematic and vintage-looking graphics creating a visually exciting pairing of the two hits. For Home Free it is important to reach out and interact with their fans through music videos.

In the coming months, the band will embark on the 2015 DON’T IT FEEL GOOD Tour and the just-announced HOME FREE FOR THE HOLIDAYS Tour. Kicking off December 2 in Duluth, MN, Home Free will bring fan favorites and holiday jingles from FULL OF CHEER to 15-plus cities nationwide. Tickets will be available for pre-sale for members of Home Free’s Patreon community on September 8 and available to the general public September 11.

Additionally, they join country icon Kenny Rogers on his first Christmas album in 17 years, ONCE AGAIN IT’S CHRISTMAS, performing “Children, Go Where I Send Thee” (Warner Bros./Warner Music Nashville, 9/25).

The five-man band from Minnesota, comprised of Austin Brown (high tenor), Tim Foust (bass), Rob Lundquist (tenor), Adam Rupp (vocal percussion/beat boxer) and Chris Rupp (baritone), dropped their debut album CRAZY LIFE in 2014, which hit #1 on iTunes Country and #4 overall.  Founded by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp during their college years, Home Free has been perfecting their live show for nearly a decade performing together for packed crowds at major fairs, colleges and theatres. Their experiences on the road helped carry them to the Sing-Off victory, build a loyal fan base and bring their homegrown country style into the national spotlight.

Pre-Order TANGLED UP Now to Download A New Song Instantly Every Friday Until Release

THOMAS RHETT SETS PLANS FOR WEEKLY VIDEOS UNVEILING NEW MUSIC LEADING INTO TANGLED UP  - OUT SEPT. 25

Pre-Order TANGLED UP Now to Download A New Song Instantly Every Friday Until Release

NASHVILLE, TN – Aug. 28, 2015 – With his “bold song selections, borrowing choice trimmings from around the musical universe and pushing the country-music needle even farther” (Rolling Stone), multi-PLATINUM artist Thomas Rhett is sharing new music off his upcoming TANGLED UP (The Valory Music Co.) out Sept. 25. Beginning today, Vevo will premiere a new video every Friday mirroring the track fans will simultaneously receive as an instant iTunes download for pre-ordering the forthcoming album.
“With a little under a month until TANGLED UP comes out, I am pumped to start sharing some more music off this record,” said Thomas Rhett. “I wanted to start with a track that just feels good and is fun, so here we go with ‘Vacation.’ Clearly, with lyrics like ‘Billabong bikini’ and ‘solo cup amplifier,’ the song is about having a good time, whether you actually are on vacation – like we are in the video – or just kicking back in a kiddie pool in your back yard."
First up, Thomas Rhett unwinds with his summer party anthem “Vacation.” Filmed last month during a personal vacation in Hawaii, the warm-weather video highlights sunny adventures and home videos with his wife Lauren and friends.
Thomas Rhett's Top 5 and GOLD certified “Crash And Burn” is the fastest rising single of his career and serves as the lead single of his upcoming sophomore release TANGLED UP. Having already notched three consecutive chart-topping hits off his debut effort, the CMA and ACM “New Artist of the Year” nominee initially garnered attention as a gifted songwriter with credits including hits by Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean and Lee Brice. It is Thomas Rhett's “high-energy all the way” (El Paso Times) live show that has “the audience dancing all the way up in the rafters of the stadium” (Billboard) that continues to catch the attention of critics out on the road.

Writing For Radio ( Vocal or Instrumental ) & Making Money from it..

Writing For Radio ( Vocal or Instrumental ) & Making Money from it..

After 15 years of promoting music to radio and prior to that, being a songwriter/touring artist myself, I have some helpful advice to offer. First, I am amazed at how many musicians/composers/songwriters I speak to daily that feel there is only room on radio for vocal tracks, completely not so. Globally, there are radio stations that play a variety of genres, along with stations that simply play instrumental music. So if you have both, get ready to get the music out there. When I was in the studio, I created my vocal tracks and my instrumental tracks as each had a home to find. BUT, the songs have to be of good quality. If you have vocals, you want them loud, in your face for radio..the production must be solid, whether it is instrumental or not. Write lyrics that can relate to the listener. If your song is crossover in genres, you can obtain more airplay on various crossover stations. Musicians must be in sync and really 'gel' in the song performance. The song lengths should be short. Keep them to a minimum length. I've had radio dj's asking me for songs that are less than two minutes to fit in their end of playlist time slots. And of course we have the standard 3:30, 4 minute lengths. If you write a vocal work, no long intros at the start...dive right into the vocals. Have a catchy title, have a catchy music hook, lyric, melody in the song. If the song feels forced when you are writing it, most likely won't be your best at the end. Songs that come quickly to you, sometimes within 10 minutes are usually a stellar end product. Once again, based on my experience as a songwriter. And finally, songs, great songs are meant to be heard. A good song can make you a lot of money if you promote it correctly. That's where someone like me comes in..getting it to the right hands. I promoted my 7 song EP for over 10 years, earning airplay and 8 song placements. And if YOU have 'older' music that sounds timeless and you have not done anything with it promo wise, get it out there and make your music work for you. Radio royalties, downloads sales, song placements in film/tv all money making 'can do's' for indie artists and bands. No more excuses on how can I make money?. There are hundreds of thousands of stations out there. The more your music is out there, the more you reap the rewards of your talents.
