Oak Ridge Boys Honored for 'A Salute to Christmas';
Oak Ridge Boys
Legendary group's holiday show earns Telly Award

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 25, 2015) – When country music supergroup the Oak Ridge Boys were preparing to launch the 25th annual Christmas Night Out tour, they wanted to add a little something extra--a one-night only television special honoring the work of The American Legion and its efforts to aid veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. The last thing the Oak Ridge Boys had on their minds was receiving a major television award for A Salute to Christmas.

“PTSD can be a debilitating disease for service members returning home, but it can be treated,” said Oak Ridge Boys singer Duane Allen. “The American Legion’s work with veterans facing PTSD is among some of the most important in the country, and we wanted to help them support that work with the kickoff of our Christmas Night Out tour.”

Working with the American Legion also led to a number of PSAs for the legion, which aired on multiple national and cable networks, as well as the one-hour Christmas special which aired in markets across the U.S. A Salute To Christmas received a 2015 Telly Award for outstanding television production.

Established in 1979, the Telly Awards are the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, video and film productions, and web commercials, videos, and films. Showcasing the best work of the most respected agencies, production companies, television stations, and cable operators, the Telly Award is a highly respected international competition, receiving more than 12,000 annually from around the world.

In addition to the Oak Ridge Boys, A Salute to Christmas featured Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, Martin Family Circus, and Mary Sarah. The special was produced by Tracy Trost of Targeting Concepts Marketing, of Tulsa, OK. Trost was surprised by the Telly Award.

“This project is very special because the heart of it is to bring attention to the needs of our veterans. For me personally, being able to work so closely with the Oak Ridge Boys has been a highlight in my career,” said Trost. “Winning this award just shows how excellent they and The American Legion are. I am honored to be a part.”

Allen agreed with Trost, and added that any recognition the Christmas special garners helps call attention to a good cause.

“If this award can help us tell the story of the men and women suffering with PTSD, and of the help that The American Legion is providing to them, that’s a great thing. We’re honored to have received this award, but we’re more honored that we got to be a part of helping those who’ve given so much to our country already,” Allen said.

The Telly Award for A Salute to Christmas is just one of the accolades received by the Oak Ridge Boys this year. In addition, the Oak Ridge Boys released a critically acclaimed album of new gospel recordings, “Rock of Ages”, which broke the Top 10 on Billboard’s Christian Albums chart. Earlier this year, the Country Music Hall of Fame announced that the Oak Ridge Boys will be inducted into the hall of fame in October.

RANDY HOUSER KICK THE DUST UP TOUR

RANDY HOUSER HAILED AS “THE KIND OF MALE BELTER THAT COUNTRY COULD USE” AS RAVE REVIEWS FROM KICK THE DUST UP TOUR KEEP COMING

Houser continues to honor military families at concerts along the way in partnership with Eckrich

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 25, 2015) – Following his show-stopping performance at Nashville’s LP Field during the CMA Music Festival, which left Rolling Stone Country saying he was “long overdue for a Male Vocalist nomination,” and the Boston Globe  proclaiming he “pulled off one of the most intimate moments seen at the stadium level,” Randy Houser continues to land rave reviews on his cross-country trek with Luke Bryan’s Kick The Dust Up Tour. Playing his third stadium date in as many weeks at TFC Bank Stadium in Minneapolis over the weekend, Houser was again hailed by the StarTribune as “the kind of male belter that country could use, offer[ing] Sam Smith’s ‘Stay with Me,’ which wasn’t worthy of Houser’s big vocal range.”

Tulsa World echoed those sentiments just days before during a tour stop in Tulsa, Okla., saying the chart-topping artist “brought a vocal game that was completely on point” and touting “the incredible strength and range of his voice.”

While Houser maintains a grueling touring schedule and continues to work on new music for his forthcoming album, he has also partnered with Eckrich® for the second year to honor military families with VIP concert experiences throughout the tour and gifts of free groceries courtesy of Eckrich. Most recently, Houser surprised Army National Guard Specialist Justin Green and his family at the show in Minneapolis and Retired Army Specialist Patrick Heier and his wife Teresa at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kan. He also surprised Sergeant Nate Miracle and his family with an outdoor makeover for their home in Clarksville, Tenn., complete with a renovated front porch and backyard upgrade including a new deck, luxury grill, picnic table and professional landscaping. Houser then gave the family a private acoustic performance and gifted Sgt. Miracle with a new guitar and private lesson, all on behalf of Eckrich.

Houser will continue on the Kick The Dust Up Tour this week as his new single, “We Went,” continues to power up the country radio charts.

Amy Wilcox Releases New Summertime Single, “Summer In Slow Motion”

Amy Wilcox Releases New Summertime Single, “Summer In Slow Motion”

(Nashville, Tenn. – June 25, 2015) – Singer-songwriter Amy Wilcox has released a new single, “Summer In Slow Motion,” which is now available on iTunes.

Written by Wilcox, Lisa Goe and Jordan Schmidt, and produced by Schmidt, “Summer In Slow Motion” is an upbeat summer party anthem, which makes its debut just in time for the Fourth of July holiday.

Of the new single, Wilcox commented, “Lisa, Jordan and I were all talking about how excited we were that summer was finally coming and how every year, we always say, ‘I’m really gonna make this one count,’ and then it just flies by. The idea behind ‘Summer In Slow Motion’ is that you have to do everything you can to make every second count. Do the things you truly want to do and have fun. Just remember to slow down, appreciate what you have and make every moment worth it.”

The single is Wilcox’s follow-up release to her 2013 self-titled album, and a music video for “Summer In Slow Motion” will be released over the coming weeks.

Born in Oklahoma and raised in Arlington, Va., Wilcox first moved to Music City to play Division 1 soccer at Vanderbilt University. While majoring in history and economics with a minor in communications, she topped the SEC Academic Honor Roll and was a leader in shots-on-goal percentage for the Vanderbilt Commodores.

After graduating from Vanderbilt, Wilcox took to the road to pursue music full time and began playing at bars and honky-tonks all over the U.S.

Wilcox was also a featured cast member on A&E’s “Crazy Hearts: Nashville.” The show documented the lives of up-and-coming Nashville artists and Wilcox is featured on two tracks from the Original Soundtrack, and is now releasing her highly anticipated single since coming off the show.
