HEADING INTO HOLIDAYS
The sensual track is the latest release from Monroe’s EP It’s A Love Thing, and will be featured on participating Music Row reporting stations "Test Drive" feature starting Jan 1st. Monroe has had quite the varied career so far along, headlining his own shows – in addition to opening shows for CMA winners such as Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Dwight Yoakam, and Charlie Daniels. He has tasted success with previous singles such as “Just The Same,” and “Crazy Not To,” which in addition to it’s peak at the top of the New Music Weekly chart, also hit the Top-40 on Music Row, and earned Monroe a ranking of No. 4 on the European Country Charts.
The latest EP from Monroe has been hailed by fans and critics alike for its’ step in musical direction. “I was inspired by trying to mix a different flavor into country. Recently there's a lot of country rap going on and I wanted to see if we could take from the groove/pop side of à la Maroon 5/Bruno Mars. I know it's pretty different, but I think it’s like a good gumbo you need to add a little kick of spice sometimes and not be afraid to try something new.”
Monroe has taken his music all over the United States – and part of the globe, as well. He has performed in such locales as Bosnia, China, Macedonia, Vietnam, the Bahamas, and Switzerland. He was also invited at the request of Pete Peterson, US Ambassador to Vietnam , to perform at the week-long 4th of July celebrations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Mihn City. Monroe was honored to sing the US National anthem for the 5-year anniversary of the re-opening of diplomatic relations between the countries. This marked the first time the anthem had been sung at a public event in Vietnam in over 25 years. He has also given a Command Performance for former President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev on the USS Sequoia Presidential Yacht, Washington, DC. This lead to a trip to Russia where Monroe performed at several orphanages and was a featured performer on REN TV's Bulat Okudzhava Festival in Moscow.
Monroe most recently spent quite a bit of 2014 opening for ACM-award winning The Eli Young Band as part of the successful Jagermeister’s Ultimate Summer of Music Tour. He has been associated with the tour since 2009.
Watch for more exciting developments concerning Rick Monroe soon!

Well Traveled Road
Namitjira's Land - They Don't Play My Kinda Music - Walk Away - Down Memory Lane - Country Way of Life - I Like A Little Boogie - Bushman's TV - I Always Get The Blues - Well Traveled Road - Sound of Soaking Rain - Tools Of My Trade - Thanks To A Few Good Mates
Both Australia and New Zealand seem to have a very 'close' relationship with what we now term 'real' country music. Very unlike the Nashville sound today, Australia in particular seems to hold on to the traditional sound of classic country music more than most locations on planet earth. For one thing, Lex K is a vocalist who isn't afraid to express his feelings, especially in a song like "They Don't Play My Kinda Music" with a line that specifically states....'they don't play my kind of country anymore,' one of the ten original songs Lex has on this very nice 'country' CD. Lex is also not afraid to 'talk about' his own memories of Australia, whether it be a geographical location like Namitjira's Land, or the lead song "Well Traveled Road," which reminds all of us that 'rural' is still alive and well in places other than Nashville, Tennessee. Lex works closely with Kross Kut Records, located in Queensland. I like the way Lex describes his own musical endeavors, much better stated than I could do...."I write and record most of my own songs and they are 99% bush ballads or traditional Australian country. I love writing and a lot of my songs relate to my life as a man of the land. I have been a cattle man all my life as my father before me, so that kind of life and the songs I write are sort of in my blood." Yes indeed, the very 'nature' of country music is in Lex's blood. He's not the next Kenny Rogers on the top of the hit parade as a vocalist, but he definitely has a 'hook' on what country music is, what it should be, and what it should continue to be, and he's doing his very best in his own Australian way to keep 'real' country music alive. He used some great instrumentation throughout this great CD: on guitar Lindsay Waddington, Hugh Curtis, Jamie Davis, and himself, along with Hugh Curtis and Lindsay Waddington on bass. Add Neil Butler and Lindsay on the drums, and on the steel/dobro/banjo/ harp none other than Lawrie Minson. Hugh Curtis is on fiddle and mandolin, and the piano and keyboard additions were done by Tony Wagner. A good job well done, I hear the 'compositions' and 'original music' more than the voice, and I must say, it's all darn good. This CD will find it's way to the Rural Roots Music Commission for some International Country CD recognition.

I Just Want Dance With You - Ready For The Times To Get Better - What's A Nice Boy Like You - Speed Of The Sound Of Loneliness - Too Late To Turn Back Now - Memories Ain't What They Used To Be - Dreaming My Dreams With You - Be My Friend Tonight - Lost In Love - Baby Is Gone - Coming To The Dance
It was a remarkable experience to not only review Tamra's latest CD earlier this year, but to also see her take "CD of the Year" awards at the LeMars Festival, which was especially pleasing for me. This remarkable woman makes her home in Denmark, and after her presence at LeMars, Iowa, she sent me some of her previous albums. I've been pretty busy with quite a few artists that I hadn't reviewed, but today is a beautiful day in California, I'm writing on my lap-top, and I'm listening to the beautiful Tamra Rosanes take me back to my own 'country roots.' This is the kind of country music I really like, it's so very very different from so-called commercial country these days, and it's so very very much better than anything on country music's top-ten anywhere on this planet. The very first song just simply blew me away, Tamra duets this song with John Prine. Wow, talk about that 'country' feel, accent and all, it's right there where it needs to be. There are three John Prine songs on this album, including "I Just Want To Dance With You." What an incredible experience to hear this for the first time, and then follow it with one of my favorite 'message' songs, "Ready For The Times To Get Better" with Marty Stuart on guitar. Granted, he's playing electric, but it is absolutely stunning. This song itself, should perhaps be a banner song describing the 'times' we live in. Cowboy Jack Clement produced this remarkable work of music. He's no longer with us, but isn't it wonderful that we can still hear the wonderful ability he had working with such a stunning vocalist as Tamra Rosanes in the studio. This CD alone gives us a little look at what he was capable of, especially when working with a gifted artist. Here's what I would hope for.... Tamra would nominate John Prine for induction into America's Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015. I'll pass this CD along to the Rural Roots Music Commission who was well pleased with her work in 2014. She'll have to not only nominate John, she'll have to convince him to let us honor him, and then they both need to show up at the same time, so we can hear some of these songs 'live' 'acoustic' 'down-home' 'real' 'full of love.' No question, I like the first two songs best, but ALL of these songs are just superbly done. I normally try to recognize the participating musicians, but there's a ton of them on this CD, and they are all wonderfully represented with their individual talent. Thank you Tamra Rosanes for making an already beautiful California day, even more so. OK, no passes, until it's passing time.

Rhonda Vincent Wraps 2014 in Top 10 of Billboard's Year End Bluegrass Albums Chart
Critically-Acclaimed #1 Album Only Me Nominated for Best Bluegrass Album at The 57th Grammys
Nashville, Tenn. (December 22, 2014) - The numbers are in, and "The New Queen of Bluegrass" Rhonda Vincent has finished in the top 10 of the Billboard Year End Charts for 2014 with her Grammy nominated album Only Me, which has remained on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart since its #1 debut. Billboard calculated the top Bluegrass Albums based on sales, ranking Only Me in the top 10.
This is a great way to close out a record setting year for Vincent. Since the release of Only Me earlier this year, Rhonda has reached the top spot on the national bluegrass airplay chart on two separate occasions. The lead single from the album "Busy City" was the first to do so, with the Willie Nelson duet title-track also hitting the top spot for the month of December. The album also contains a duet with frequent collaborator Daryle Singletary on the George Jones / Melba Montgomery duet classic "We Must Have Been Out Of Our Minds." Vincent also covered songs by Country Music Hall of Fame members Emmylou Harris ("Beneath Still Waters"), Bill Anderson ("Bright Lights and Country Music"), and Connie Smith ("Once A Day").
In addition to its' strong sales, Only Me has garnered some of the strongest ink of Vincent's career, with write-ups from such outlets as Country Weekly, All Music, Bluegrass Today, as well as Billboard. As is always the case with Rhonda Vincent, the Bluegrass queen has taken to the road in a major way to promote the release, boarding up on the Martha White Bluegrass Express for a busy slate of dates this year - a trend that will continue into 2015.

The poem, the song, and the place to honor their sacrifice.
Twang Thang Country announces that multi-award winning country music artist Richard Lynch, (www.richardlynchband.com) of Waynesville, Ohio has recently established the non-profit Love Tattoo Foundation to raise awareness and financial assistance for wounded veterans. The singer of, “The Last of A Dying Breed” believes that as we enjoy our freedoms we must always remember those who have sacrificed so much. Through their service, dedication and valor, our Veterans have earned our respect and support. Many Veterans bare the marks of their service with physical and emotional scars and we have an obligation to assist them wherever possible.
The name Love Tattoo was inspired by a poem written by law enforcement officer Chuck Brisbin to honor a Veteran who returned home from Afghanistan severely disfigured. Chuck brought his heartfelt poem to Richard and asked if it could be put to music and perhaps used in a way as to assist our wounded heroes. After working on the song and feeling the emotion it generated, Richard knew it was destined to take on a life of its own, and the Love Tattoo Foundation was born, (www.lovetattoofoundation.org). This foundation recognizes that the horror of war and military service do not end with a tour of duty. Countless Veterans tell stories of ostracism and further wounding when they return home. Many feel they have nowhere to turn, and that is unacceptable.
A primary beneficiary from the Foundations activities will be the unique WilWin Lodge in Trout Lake, Michigan (www.wilwin.org). Previously used as a lumbering operation, WilWin sits on 600 beautiful, wooded acres with over ten miles of groomed trails for hiking, riding, four wheeling, and biking. The property consist of a lodge, which will accommodate fifteen guests, a pavilion and caretakers cabin. A full commercial kitchen is also available in the conference/recreation center. Veterans with physical and emotional disabilities along with their families will be warmly welcomed for rest, relaxation and some quiet rehabilitation.
The official launch of The Foundation comes with the world wide radio release of “Love Tattoo”, which is available for download at all major digital stores. The release will be followed by a major Michigan Legion Riders ride in and Richard Lynch concert in July 2015 at the Kewadin Casino in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan to benefit The WilWin Lodge.
Promotional and other considerations provided by Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan and The American Legion Department of Michigan.
LOVE TATTOO is a 501(C)(3) charity, gifts are tax-deductable as allowed by state and federal law.
