CMA SONGWRITERS SERIES 10th ANNIVERSARY

CMA SONGWRITERS SERIES WRAPS ITS MILESTONE 10th ANNIVERSARY YEAR WITH STRONGEST SEASON YET

Series Reached New Heights at Sundance Film Festival and New Audiences on Public Television
NASHVILLE – 2014 not only marked the 10th anniversary of the CMA Songwriters Series, but also marked new heights in the growth of the popular series. In celebrating its 10-year anniversary, the Series has not only traveled from the Sundance Film Festival to London, but has also made its national television debut as part of a partnership to air the CMA Songwriters Series through public television’s “Front and Center.”
In December, the CMA Songwriters Series culminates its 10-year anniversary celebration in the venue where it all began when it returns to Joe's Pub in New York City for a two-night event Dec. 3 and 4 with the writers who were part of those very first shows in 2005. Celebrating its decade-long run, the CMA Songwriters Series features songwriter and host Bob DiPiero performing alongside Radney Foster, Brett James, and Craig Wiseman. Tickets are on sale now and show times for both nights are 6:30 and 9:00 PM/ET.
In January of this year the CMA Songwriters Series kicked off its 10th Anniversary season with standing-room-only shows at the Sundance Film Festival featuring Brandy Clark, James, Chris Stapleton, and Lee Ann Womack.
Later in the year, a very special Songwriters Series that featured Sara Evans joined by songwriters Chris DeStefano, James, and Marcus Hummon plus surprise guest Gavin DeGraw played to a sold out audience in Nashville the night before "The 48th Annual CMA Awards." Additionally, the series has performed shows in Paradise Island, Bahamas as part of the Atlantis Live Paradise Music Festival Presented by HGTV, as well as Austin, Chicago, New York, and London.
As part of the anniversary-year celebration, CMA partnered with public television’s critically-acclaimed concert series “Front and Center” to present two separate hour-long concert specials for the 2014 fall season. The shows, airing currently, feature the music of CMA Award winner Lady Antebellum as they are joined by special songwriter guests, and a special 10th Anniversary CMA Songwriters Series celebration with 2014 CMA Award winner Dierks Bentley. Bentley is joined by top songwriters Jim Beavers, Ross Copperman, James, and Jon Randall.
Throughout the last decade, the CMA Songwriters Series has been exposing fans across the country and the globe to the artisans who, through their craft, pen hits that touch the lives of millions of music fans. Since it began at Joes’ Pub in New York City in 2005, the CMA Songwriters Series has presented90 shows in 15 cities, including Austin, Boston, Belfast, Chicago, Dublin, London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C. at the renowned Library of Congress.

Some of the artists that have been part of the series include Clint Black, Kix Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Billy Currington, Randy Houser, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Patty Loveless, Ronnie Milsap, Kip Moore, David Lee Murphy, Gretchen Peters, Kellie Pickler, Darius Rucker, The Band Perry, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood, Phil Vassar, and Chris Young.

OLD SETTLER’S MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES PARTIAL 2015 LINEUP

28th Annual Old Settler’s Music Festival
Thursday-Sunday, April 16-19, 2015
Salt Lick BBQ Pavilion and Camp Ben McCulloch, FM 1826 south of Austin, Texas
Available Saturday, November 15 at 10 am: Discounted early-bird packages/camping
Tickets/information: oldsettlersmusicfest.org

OLD SETTLER’S MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES PARTIAL 2015 LINEUP; DISCOUNTED EARLY BIRD PACKAGES GO ON SALE NOV. 15

AUSTIN, Texas — The Old Settler’s Music Festival has been a highlight of every Austin spring since 1987; the 2015 festival, held at the Salt Lick BBQ Pavilion and Camp Ben McCulloch from Thursday, April 16 to Sunday, April 19, is shaping up to be the most exciting one yet.

Over the course of four days, about thirty Americana music acts will perform on the festival’s four stages. Grammy-winning, country-steeped garage band The Mavericks top the bill with their infectious, feel good energy. The festival is known for its wide variety of roots music acts, this year ranging from soul-stirring gospel group The McCrary Sisters to returning ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro. Both traditional and progressive bluegrass take center stage thanks to living legend Sam Bush, supergroup Hot Rize (touring behind its first studio album in more than 20 years), award-winning traditionalists Dailey & Vincent, and genre-bending The Infamous Stringdusters.

Alt-country sweethearts Bruce Robison & Kelly Willis, country rock crooners Green River Ordinance, Jack White fave Pokey LaFarge, and critically acclaimed folk artist Israel Nash are slated to perform, too. Old Settler’s favorites Shinyribs, Jitterbug Vipers and MilkDrive return in 2015, much to the delight of campers and festivalgoers. Langhorne Slim, who wowed the festival audience in 2011, returns as well. Newcomers The Defibulators, Lauren Shera, Rising Appalachia and Darlingside round out this partial lineup. More acts will be announced in the near future.

Discounted early-bird packages go on sale beginning November 15 at 10 am. Camping packages have sold out completely for the last three years and the festival plans to offer fewer camping tickets this year. Purchasing early assures access to the popular Ben McCulloch grounds, the site of one stage and countless impromptu jam sessions.

A four-day camping wristband starts at $220, nearly 20% less than the gate price. Three-day camping passes (Friday-Sunday) are $205, while a three-day non-camping package is only $140. Only a limited number of discounted early bird passes will be available. After that, a set quantity of advance passes will be available at an increased price.

A platinum package ($480) provides a unique VIP experience. The all-access pass includes a four-day camping wristband, a campground electrical permit, complimentary meals Friday and Saturday backstage at the Salt Lick Pavilion, free snacks and drinks served during Salt Lick concerts, a special festival poster and tee-shirt, and a chance to meet and mingle with the impressive lineup of performers.

Also, RV/trailer passes ($100 with hookups) come with both a campground electrical permit and parking for one car included. The festival has a limited number of RV/Trailer passes in 2015. In order to make the campground more comfortable for festivalgoers, a car camping fee of $60 per vehicle has been implemented. There is no charge to leave cars in the festival’s satellite lot. Transportation to and from the satellite lot will be provided via a convenient shuttle. Storage lockups will also be available at Camp Ben for any festivalgoers who wish to store their valuables in a secure location.
