JEFF BATES HONORS HIS IDOL CONWAY TWITTY

JEFF BATES HONORS HIS IDOL - RELEASES CONWAY TWITTY TRIBUTE ALBUM THIS WEEK

ME AND CONWAY Available For Purchase Tomorrow, November 11, 2014

Rolling Stone Country Offers Up Preview of "After The Fire Is Gone," Bates' Duet with the Legendary Loretta Lynn
Nashville, Tenn. (November 10, 2014) - Tomorrow, November 11, 2014, country singer Jeff Bates will honor his idol when he releases his tribute to the late Conway Twitty, titled Me And Conway.

Bates always idolized Conway but never intended to mimic his vocals.  After years of fighting critics and the industry about comparing their vocal styles, Bates decided to record a new album with six Conway songs and six others so that people could hear the differences and similarities for themselves.  On Me and Conway, Bates has included his renditions of Conway Twitty classics, "Don't Take It Away," "Lost In The Feeling," "I'd Love To Lay You Down," "She's Got A Single Thing In Mind" and "That's My Job."

Bates also included Conway's classic duet with the legendary Loretta Lynn, "After The Fire Is Gone."  He was honored beyond comparison when the country matriarch agreed to record the song with him.  The new version of the song marks the first time Lynn has recorded the song since the original duet with Conway.  Rolling Stone Country is currently offering up an exclusive preview of the newly recorded classic hit.  Listen HERE.

Me And Conway, distributed by Sony Red / Red River Entertainment, will be available in retail stores tomorrow and online at JeffBates.net and Amazon.com, as well as digitally on iTunes.

Me And Conway Track Listing:
1. Me And Conway
2. Don’t Take It Away
3. Sleepin’ In
4. She’s Got A Single Thing In Mind
5. If Heaven Had A Phone
6. I’d Love To Lay You Down
7. That Thing We Do

About Jeff Bates
Signed to RCA Records in late 2002, Jeff Bates released his debut album Rainbow Man in May 2003.  A second album, Leave The Light On, was released in 2005 on RCA.  The album was followed by Jeff Bates in 2008 on the independent Black River Entertainment.  Bates' two RCA albums accounted for seven chart singles on the Billboard country charts, of which three reached the Top 40: "The Love Song," "I Wanna Make You Cry" and "Long, Slow Kisses."  Bates has been active in his works of compassion, collecting for organizations such as Toys For Tots and others.  In 2005, a concert in Hattiesburg, Mississippi raised $25,000 for Hurricane Katrina relief in his home area.

Empty Chairs: A Story in Poetry by Jeremy Frost

Empty Chairs: A Story in Poetry
by Jeremy Frost

One’s love for words leads to lovely worlds.
Jeremy Frost’s poetry book, Empty Chairs, is a drifting to such worlds, worlds in moments.
Now I have to rephrase that first sentence: One’s love reflected in words leading to lovely worlds.
The poems in Empty Chairs are more than words. There is a sweet sensation in the soul as one reads line after line, stanza after stanza. They cannot be just words, there must be something more in those poems, for such sweetness does not spring from mere words.
I surmise, the flavor does not come from words, it springs from the poet’s boldness, there is action in every line, and meaning in each action, the beauty does not come from the words, the sweetness does not flow from mere letters.
Now I have to rephrase the first sentence: One’s love borrowed by words flowing to lovely worlds.
I approximate words merely hold the shape of the moment through which the poet’s soul moves, like a river, flowing, borrowing the shapes of the slopes. How can words be in themselves the poet’s existence?
Jeremy Frost’s poetry is not mere words leading to worlds. It just cannot be, otherwise there will be no sweetness in the soul, no movement, no being.
That’s it, what moves the reader in Frost’s poems are not the words, in fact what defines his poems is the very act of defining and re-defining poetry itself, not with words but with the act merely made visible by the slopes, by the poems in words yet more than words, the very act that springs from his rebellion against the commonplace and the mundane, claiming his originality in the present moment when poetry itself may also claim its newness in its original moment.
Frost is consistently exploring a newly discovered island. The discovery made possible because he dared to make it possible. That’s where the sweet sensation in the soul comes from, it springs from the landfall of discovery, from the rich possibilities of existence.
Now I have to rephrase the first sentence: One’s love made visible and tangible by words leading to lovely worlds in original moments.
Empty Chairs is a book that is worth a peep, a read and a re-read, for though poems are made of words, lines and stanzas, Frost’s poetry is pure existence and its perfume of possibilities.

Review by Edwin Cordevilla - the author of Phoenix and Other Poems (published in 2000), The Occasions of Air, Fire, Water, Earth (2012), and the non-traditional epic poem Ten Thousand Lines Project For World Peace (2013) In the introductions of three books on Philippine literary history and literary criticism, namely, The Likhaan Anthology of Philippine Literature in English from 1900 to the Present (University of the Philippines Press,1998) : A Habit of Shores: Filipino Poetry and Verse from English,60’s to the 90’s (University of the Philippines Press,1999) : and The Critical Villa: Essays in Literary Criticism (Ateneo de Manila University Press,2002) , Cordevilla is viewed as the last of the Filipino Romantic poets in English.

Aldean Now Marks 10 Million In Career Album Sales

Nashville, TN – Nov. 10, 2014 – On the heels of a No. one album debut, two-time ACM “Male Vocalist of the Year” Jason Aldean is releasing “Just Gettin’ Started” as the latest single off his sixth studio album OLD BOOTS, NEW DIRT. The track officially goes for adds today with 70 stations already on board. Known for his driving beats and big guitar sound, the song “stands out as new territory” (Rolling Stone) and follows his two-chart, multi-week No. one smash hit and the fastest selling country single of 2014 “Burnin’ It Down.”
“When we released the lead single from this album, I think everybody was scratching their heads a little bit and wondering what the rest of the songs would sound like,” Aldean said. “This is a great follow-up to 'Burnin' It Down' because it's probably more familiar to those fans who love that bigger rock guitar sound we do a lot. This will be a fun one to put in the set list, and I love the lyric, 'already having the time of our lives, but we're just gettin' started.' It sets the tone for a great night out at a concert!"
The stadium headliner has taken 14 trips to No. one and recently marked 10 million in career album sales. The career benchmark follows the announcement of the second leg of his previously sold out BURN IT DOWN TOUR, which will kick off in Feb. 2015 for the 23-city run. Each of Aldean's albums has been certified PLATINUM and he has been officially recognized as the top digital male country artist in history with over 21.5 million in digital sales.

Trinity River Band Releases New Christmas Album

Trinity River Band Releases New Christmas Album, On A Morning Like This

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 10, 2014)  Just in time for the holiday season, Trinity River Band has released a new Christmas album, On A Morning Like This. Parents Mike and Lisa Harris, along with their three children Sarah, Joshua, and Brianna, certainly shine on the album - taking turns on lead vocals and contributing their instrumental talents on all tracks.

The album features eight classic Christmas songs, plus two originals with the exquisite vocal talents of Sarah Harris. The title track, written by Lisa, and the original “This Christmas” written by Sarah, could certainly both become holiday classics.

National Media Services in Front Royal, Virginia invited Trinity River Band to record On A Morning Like This as the company’s annual Christmas album. “The new album certainly highlights National Media Services’ ability to put forth outstanding projects from start to finish, all in house. We were delighted to be a part of this project and humbled that they chose us for this venture,” said Sarah. “A special thank you to Will Shenk for his incredible patience while working so hard on this album, and making it sound so wonderful!”

The album was launched during the recent International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) annual World of Bluegrass event in Raleigh, North Carolina. During the week, Sarah Harris was honored with her second consecutive nomination for an IBMA Momentum Award in the Vocalist category.
