Vince Gill, Merle Haggard, Martina McBride & Others Praise RAY PRICE

Vince Gill, Merle Haggard, Martina McBride & Others Praise RAY PRICE's Performance On BEAUTY IS ... the final sessions

Hall of Famer's Last Studio Project Continues To Generate Admiration & Enthusiasm

Nashville, TN (October 15, 2014) -- The last album of Country Music Hall of Fame member Ray Price, BEAUTY IS  ... the final sessions, continues to generate praise from fellow artists, the media, and legions of fans.  The disc features duets with Vince Gill and Martina McBride and both artists were honored to participate in the project.

Gill, who traded lines with Price on "Beauty Lies In The Eyes Of The Beholder" recently told Rolling Stone, "Ray was one of those guys who never lost a step with his voice - even well into the end of his life, he was still singing great.  You can hear that on the record: It's not manipulated, it's the real deal. Very few singers keep their voice intact like that their whole lives."

Martina admits to a being flattered by the invitation to sing with the Country legend.  "I was so honored and surprised to be asked to sing with him," she recalls.  "Ray carried himself so well and still had this amazing voice. That's the voice that we all loved." McBride and Price made magic on "An Affair To Remember."
Even artists who didn't participate in the history-making recording are praising BEAUTY IS Merle Haggard, who recorded previously with Price, sums up his thoughts on Price and the disc, saying:   "Excellence personified from the beginning to the end."

Lynn Anderson calls the album, "A fitting encore for those of us who want more from the Tony Bennett of Country Music."  She observes, "Among the beautiful string-laden ballads is an old-timey Shuffle with a steel guitar, a fiddle and perfectly understated harmony.  Sensitively produced by Fred Foster, timeless songs sung by the best.  Classic Country."

Ray Benson of Asleep At The Wheel fame calls BEAUTY IS "an amazing record."  He adds, "Ray was one of my musical heroes and it's so wonderful to hear his voice again.  He proved that we can get better with age."

The media has heaped accolades on Ray and the album, with Robert K. Oermann of MusicRow stating, "After one listen of this remarkable album, you will note that Price's flawless phrasing, vocal resonance and burnished warmth of tone create a glow that lingers long after the final notes have sounded."  Duncan Warwick wrote in Country Music People, "I can't imagine liking another album more this year ... and I'm not just saying that because it's Ray Price.  It's one of the most moving listening experiences I can ever remember."  SiriusXM Willie's Roadhouse on-air talent Dallas Wayne said recently, "Beauty Is is not only the name of this brilliant recording, Beauty Is Ray Price."

Produced by Grammy award-winning hit maker and friend Fred Foster, BEAUTY IS ... highlights the timeless, signature string and Shuffle sounds for which Price was so well known.  Released on Amerimonte Records, this iconic project is available at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® locations as well as Hastings, Walmart and online retailers including Amazon.

Born in 1926 in Peach, Texas, Price defined two major eras of Country music.  His barroom Shuffle classics made him a master of the honky-tonk style of the early 1950s, and a cornerstone of the Nashville Sound-era with a string of smooth ballads throughout the '60s and '70s.  Best known for his iconic rendering of the Kristofferson smash "For The Good Times," the Cherokee Cowboy charted over 100 times with 46 Top Ten hits, nine #1 singles and five #1 albums.  A member of the Grand Ole Opry, Ray enjoyed Gold and Platinum album sales, won two Grammy® awards, took home a CMA trophy, earned two ACM awards - and his place in the Country Music Hall of Fame.  A "gentlemen's gentleman," Price fought pancreatic cancer to complete his final album project with legendary producer and longtime friend Fred Foster.  BEAUTY IS ... the final sessions was released in April, following Price's death on December 16, 2013.

Loretta Lynn Joins Bates on Newly Recorded Version of Classic Duet,
"After The Fire Is Gone"
Nashville, Tenn. (October 14, 2014) - For years, radio DJs and the country music industry have raved about the vocal similarities of country singer Jeff Bates and the late Conway Twitty.  On November 11, 2014, Bates will finally satisfy those who have said it for years, when he releases ME AND CONWAY (Sony RED / Red River Entertainment), his tribute to the country legend.
"People always told me I sounded like Conway and though I never agreed, I always took it as a compliment," explains Bates.  "I think it's because we were both from Mississippi, enunciated similarly and we both have that gravel sound in our voices.  In 2002, when I met with Joe Galante and Renee Bell at RCA for the first time, I performed 'Long Slow Kisses' and 'I Wanna Make You Cry' for them and I learned that Renee had been Conway's A&R rep at MCA and she had called the meeting to find out who the guy was that reminded her so much of her friend, Conway.  I went to great lengths to explain that I really didn't sound as much like him as she thought I did and if she would just A/B our voices side by side and listen she would hear huge differences.  She just smiled her sweet Renee smile and said, 'Honey, it's not a bad thing at all. Yes, you sound like you but when you sing I hear Conway's soul in your voice!"
It was a battle Bates would continue to fight at radio for years.  He heard, "You sound like Conway Twitty" and even "You sound too much like Conway Twitty!"  Finally he decided to let it go.  "If people wanted to think that I sounded like him then so be it," he says.  "I could spend my life arguing about it or I could just continue to write songs and sing what I felt.  Then about three years ago I decided I would 'own it.'"
Bates decided to record a new album with six Conway songs and six others so that fans could hear the differences and similarities for themselves.  On Me and Conway, Bates has included renditions of Conway Twitty classics, "Don't Take It Away," "Lost In The Feeling," "I'd Love To Lay You Down" and "That's My Job."
Bates was honored beyond comparison when Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry member Loretta Lynn agreed to sing with him on her classic Conway duet, "After The Fire Is Gone."  Lynn, who has not recorded the song with anyone since the original version with Conway, agreed after she heard Bates sing the song at her Hurricane Mills Tennessee Ranch annual Conway Twitty Weekend.  It's been 43 years since the song was released in 1971 when it went to Number 1 on the charts for two consecutive weeks.  Now, more than four decades later, the song will be heard again, introducing a new generation of fans to one of the greatest country music duets ever recorded.
Lynn says of Bates, "He is one of the best singers I've ever heard in my life.  I love him and Conway Twitty would have loved him!"
"Conway just always seemed to say the things I needed to say or wanted to say when I couldn't find the words," says Bates.  "I would sing his songs in nightclubs and at shows throughout my career because those songs, his songs, meant something to me personally.  I never met the man but he absolutely had a major impact on my career.  I hope he would be proud of this tribute to him."
Me And Conway Track Listing:
1. Me And Conway
2. Don’t Take It Away
3. Sleepin’ In
4. She’s Got A Single Thing In Mind
5. If Heaven Had A Phone
6. I’d Love To Lay You Down
7. That Thing We Do
8. That’s My Job
9. Slow Burn
10. Lost In The Feeling
11. Heaven Is A Hell Of A Woman
12. After The Fire Is Gone (duet with Loretta Lynn)
About Jeff Bates
Signed to RCA Records in late 2002, Jeff Bates released his debut album Rainbow Man in May 2003.  A second album, Leave The Light On, was released in 2005 on RCA.  The album was followed by Jeff Bates in 2008 on the independent Black River Entertainment.  Bates' two RCA albums accounted for seven chart singles on the Billboard country charts, of which three reached the Top 40: "The Love Song," "I Wanna Make You Cry" and "Long, Slow Kisses."  Bates has been active in his works of compassion, collecting for organizations such as Toys For Tots and others.  In 2005, a concert in Hattiesburg, Mississippi raised $25,000 for Hurricane Katrina relief in his home area.

Keni Thomas’ Inspirational Music Video

Keni Thomas’ Inspirational Music Video,
“Hold The Line”
Debuted On The Boot , Tuesday, October 14
(Nashville, TN. Oct. 14, 2014) “Hold The Line,” the assertive and inspirational new music video from country singer Keni Thomas made its official debut on The Boot, October 14 at 9:00 am.
“Hold The Line” is a lyrical tribute to the value of working together to achieve great things—whether standing “shoulder to shoulder” on the battle field, the football field or uniting to keep a precious family intact.  The video was directed by Glenn Sweitzer and shot at locations in Nashville, Washington, D. C. and Arlington, Virginia.
A new audio book version of Thomas’ 2011 bestseller, Get It On!: What It Means To Lead The Way will be released later this fall.
“Hold The Line”—the song—is featured in the recent award-winning documentary The Hornet’s Nest, which deals with the frontline war in Afghanistan.
A former Army ranger, Thomas has lived the life of cooperation and commitment he sings and lectures about.  He fought in the battle in Mogadishu, Somalia that inspired the movie Blackhawk Down and subsequently served as a military advisor for the Mel Gibson film, We Were Soldiers.
Thomas first came to country music prominence in 2004 with “Not Me,” a song he recorded with guest artists Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris.  The song spotlighted “reluctant leaders,” who first  proclaim their unfitness for doing a hard job—but who then simply  buckle down and do it.
Since then, Thomas has distinguished himself as an entertainer, songwriter and motivational speaker.  He is a regular guest as a military analyst on all the major network news channels.
In May, Thomas made a triumphant return to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.  And in June, he bowed out of the CMA Music Festival to instead to flyFrance and sing the National Anthem to commemorate the 70th anniversary of D-Day and the unveiling of the Allied Paratrooper Monument in the village of Sainte-Mere-Eglise.
“Leadership has never been about the rank or position you hold,” Thomas says with quiet authority.  “It’s about the example you set.”
“Hold The Line” is from the RBM Records album, Give It Away and available on iTunes.
