DIERKS BENTLEY’S CMA NOMINATED “I HOLD ON” FEATURED AS
IMPROMPTU VEVO GO SHOW TODAY

Nashville, TN – Oct. 3, 2014 – Multi-Platinum singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley surprised fans in Annapolis, MD recently with a live performance of his CMA nominated and No. one hit “I Hold On.” On the streets near Ft. Meade, Bentley’s stripped-down impromptu performance was part of Vevo’s GO Show series that fans can now watch here.
“This town is really special, so we wanted to do our GO Show here…we popped in at a really old-school downtown spot,” Bentley said. “My dad was in the army and I always had a lot of respect for him and for folks in the military for putting their country before themselves and that’s exactly what this song is about.”
Bentley kicked off the second leg of his headlining 2014 RISER TOUR this weekend, which will stop in Fresno, CA tonight before continuing on to Las, Vegas (10/4).

FRANK SOLIVAN & DIRTY KITCHEN WIN
IBMA INSTRUMENTAL GROUP OF THE YEAR AWARD

Band Wows Crowd With Awards Show Performance, Begins October Tour at IBMA Wide Open Bluegrass Street Festival

AUSTIN, Texas — Washington, D.C. area bluegrass quartet Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen were named Instrumental Group of the Year at the 25th Annual International Bluegrass Music Association Awards, held Thursday evening in Raleigh’s Memorial Auditorium at the Duke Energy Center for the Arts.

Although this is Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen’s first Instrumental Group of the Year Award, this is the second consecutive year the band has been nominated in the category. The reigning IBMA Banjo Player of the Year, Mike Munford, was nominated for the award again this year, and Solivan received a Mandolin Player and Male Vocalist of the Year nod.

The band, which also includes guitarist Chris Luquette and bassist Danny Booth, got to demonstrate how they earned their award during the evening’s ceremony, wowing the crowd of fans and fellow musicians with a thrilling performance of the title track from the band’s latest album, Cold Spell (Aug. 12, 2014; Compass Records). Following a set at IBMA’s Wide Open Bluegrass Street Festival this afternoon, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen will hit the road for the rest of October; their tour schedule includes a show at Nashville’s legendary bluegrass venue, The Station Inn.

IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year Award

RALEIGH, NC (October 3, 2014) – Bluegrass songstress Amanda Smith was awarded the 2014 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Female Vocalist of the Year Award last night at the 25th Annual IBMA Awards Show in Raleigh, North Carolina. The event was held at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts and hosted by Lee Ann Womack and Jerry Douglas.

This was the first win for Amanda in the Female Vocalist of the Year category. The mother-to-be accepted the award with a heartfelt acceptance speech that certainly thrilled the audience. Friends and fans were quick to hit Facebook congratulating Amanda on this award to which she responded, “I am so honored to have won the IBMA Female Vocalist award. Thanks so much to everyone who has been so kind to me and encouraged me. I'm truly speechless!”

Born in the small town of Davisville, West Virginia, Amanda grew up singing in church choirs and participating in talent contests at local fairs. “I always sang, my Mom and Dad said, even before I can remember,” she says. She started playing guitar in high school to accompany herself, and soon discovered bluegrass music through female artists such as Rhonda Vincent and Alison Krauss.

Amanda met husband Kenny Smith at a Lonesome River Band concert, and the couple began dating and playing music together almost immediately. In 2003, the Kenny and Amanda Smith band were awarded the prestigious IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year Award.
