KAYLA ADAMS Soars With USAF Thunderbirds

KAYLA ADAMS Soars
With USAF Thunderbirds At Mountain Madness Airshow

Radio-Active New Single, Radio Promo Tour & Performances Keep Young Star On The Fly

Nashville, TN (September 4, 2014) -- Country newcomer KAYLA ADAMS kicked off the Mountain Madness Airshow with a performance at the event's Pre-Flight Party for the USAF Thunderbirds on August 29 in Kalispell,Montana.

A native of the state, the vibrant young star is currently lighting a fire at radio with her debut single, "Sober & Sorry"(SSM Entertainment).  The track, a Rock-tinged, straight-shootin' Country girl's answer to good love gone bad, currently sits at #42 on the MusicRow ChartAdams' visit home wrapped up a seven-week radio promo tour in support of the single.

"It's always an honor to play before your hometown crowd," notes the talented singer/songwriter.  Kayla has fond memories of attending previous airshows with her family; to be performing before the large crowd this year was definitely "a blast."

Adams' life has become something of a thrill ride of late: she recently wrapped a video for her current single, and has been busy writing songs for an upcoming debut album with some of Nashville's top tunesmiths.  This summer, Kayla has entertained audiences at The Lucky Mule (Abilene, TX), Arbuckle Ballroom (Davis, OK), ATV Races (Cresco, IA) and the world-famous Wildhorse Saloon (Nashville).  She also recently sang the National Anthem at the Baseball State Championship in Centerville, IA.

ABOUT KAYLA
An avid outdoorswoman whose thought-provoking songwriting is as melodic as it is memorable; Kayla draws inspiration for her songs from the wide open spaces of her Montana farm upbringing.  One of the most exciting young female contemporary Country singers to hit the Nashville music scene in recent years, Adams captivates live audiences with her honesty and a genuine love for people and for the music.  At 24, she is already a veteran of years on the stage - as both a band member and solo performer - in her home state and throughout the U.S.  To date, Kayla has shared the stage with Kellie Pickler, Rodney Atkins, LL Cool J, Heidi Newfield, and Smashmouth.  A self-proclaimed computer geek, she has attended both Belmont University (Nashville) and the famed Musicians Institute College of Contemporary Music (Hollywood).  Kayla currently resides in Nashville with Tory, her Yorkshire Terrier.  She loves giant roller coasters, enchiladas, Italian food, her Smart Car and Ford F350 Superduty Crew Cab Long Box truck.  In her spare time, Adams enjoys Snowboarding, boating, wakeboarding and hunting.

Candice Russell Make a Young Girls Dream Come True

Candice Russell Partners with Make-A-Wish to Make a Young Girl’s Dream Come True

Candice Russell and seven year-old Make-A-Wish recipient Baybeblue Campobasso.

(PORTLAND, Oregon) -- Singer-songwriter Candice Russell released her debut album, So Much More (Reflect Records), in 2013, which has led to a wide variety of requests from across the nation. But when Make-A-Wish Oregon contacted the American Idol (Season 11) alumni to help fulfill the wish of a young fan in her hometown of Portland, Candice immediately said yes.

Seven year-old Baybeblue Campobasso always dreamed of starring in a music video, and thanks to Make-A-Wish Oregon, that dream has come true with the just-released music video for Candice Russell’s song, “So Much More” - which stars “Blue” and her family. Watch the video here: http://youtu.be/gYoCbV1eVNA.

Blue, who is battling a severe neuromuscular disorder and relies on a wheelchair, loves watching music videos on YouTube and swaying to the rhythm, says her mom, Cyndy Ledoux, and the healing properties of music bring her joy.

"It's an honor for me to do this,” says Candice. "The family is amazing — watching them handle all the obstacles with grace.”

Candice has handled more than a few obstacles of her own. As a teenager, she was diagnosed with Graves' Disease, an immune system disorder similar to hyperthyroidism. She received treatment, but medications led to complications. And while she still deals with challenges as a result, she's determined not to let it hold her back. The songs on her debut album reflect major moments in her journey, which haven't always been easy. She collaborated with producer Dave Lubben (Kutless, Rachel Chan) and her brother, Aaron Russell, to write all ten of So Much More’s original songs, telling her story and providing inspiration to all that listen.

Remembering Joan Rivers

Remembering Joan Rivers

"Though her death is no laughing matter, her life was nothing but.  I know she would want us all to keep smiling.  And I know we always will when we think of her.  Rest in peace, Joan. We will always love you." - Dolly Parton

"I am in shock.  My heart goes out to Melissa and Cooper and the whole family in their time of sorrow.  Joan was an endearing person and always took care of everyone she came in contact with, including her fans.  I spent a lot of time with her in Las Vegas and we shared a lot of laughs together.  Whenever I could, I went to shows to hang with her.  Early on, Edgar came to me and said, 'If you need anything, just call' and I took them up on that.  From then on, they became close to me - they became family.

Out of everybody, she never said a harsh word about me.  She said, 'Would you hurry up and have another hit record so we can become like Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor.'  One morning we went out on a golf cart to pick up all the golf balls at a Las Vegas casino resort - I'm sure that made more than a few golfers angry but we couldn't stop laughing!

The world has lost a great comedienne and person, and I've lost a dear friend."  - Harry Wayne Casey (of KC and the Sunshine Band)

"I'm extremely devastated to hear the news of Joan's passing.  This is a lady that not only inspired my career with her amazing talent but was also the one to introduce me to the producers of my first show which kicked off my 30 year career of impersonating her.  Whether she knew it or not, she was not only a good friend but also like a second mother to me.  My heart also goes out to Melissa Rivers, who was not only Joan's daughter but probably her best friend.  In this trying time, my prayers go out to Melissa and her son Cooper for their loss.  I can't imagine what my world is going to be like without having Joan in it every day.  If in any small way I can keep her legacy alive in Las Vegas for years to come, it'll truly be my honor." - Frank Marino

GORD BAMFORD JOINS MUSICOUNTS ON SEPTEMBER 4 FOR BAND AID GRANT PRESENTATION

COUNTRY MUSIC WEEK LAUNCHES AS AWARD-WINNING ARTIST GORD BAMFORD JOINS MUSICOUNTS ON SEPTEMBER 4 FOR BAND AID GRANT PRESENTATION

Edmonton, AB - This morning in Edmonton, the official launch of Country Music Week 2014 took place at St. Augustine School with the celebration of a Band Aid Grant from MusiCounts that provided $10,000 worth of instruments to support the school's music education program. MusiCounts was joined by Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Award-winning artist, Gord Bamford, as he performed for over 300 students and attendees in the school's gymnasium. Additionally, Bamford was recognized for his $100,000 contribution to MusiCounts made through the Gord Bamford Charitable Foundation. Bamford took the time to visit the music class at St. Augustine School prior to the presentation to see first-hand the impact that contributions like his have on a school music program and its students.

"It's a huge honour for me to be a part of this today, helping MusiCounts put instruments in the hands of children," said Gord Bamford. "Music has always been an unbelievable part of my life and is an extremely important part of the education system for kids today. Looking around the room, it's great to see such a high level of passion and enthusiasm from the young people present. Earlier today, I had a chance to visit with the kids in the music room and it's clear that the St. Augustine School music teacher will be able to put these instruments to good use for years to come."

St. Augustine Elementary School, has put the grant toward purchasing new percussion and orff instruments, giving young musicians more opportunities to play, create and enjoy music. Also in attendance at the special presentation was Don Green, President of the Canadian Country Music Association as well as Allan Reid, President & CEO, CARAS / The JUNO Awards & MusiCounts.

"Edmonton is a city where country music thrives, and is celebrated," said Don Green, President of the Canadian Country Music Association. "We're thrilled to kick-off Country Music Week with an event that fosters continued growth and appreciation for music in the community, in a place where it really counts - the schools. This meaningful event is the perfect start to a week filled with opportunities to experience great Canadian country music across Edmonton."

"The increasing support that we have witnessed from the country music community recently has been phenomenal.  Many of the new partnerships that we have fostered started when we first became one of the charities of choice for the CCMA," said Allan Reid, President & CEO, CARAS/The JUNO Awards & MusiCounts.  "Gord Bamford's pledge of $100,000 over the next three years is the largest ever contribution we have ever received from an artist and for that we could not be more thankful."

This celebration also marked the official opening of the MusiCounts 2014 - 2015 school year Band Aid Grant application process. Schools can visit  musicounts.ca starting September 5th, 2014 to apply.

SISTER HAZEL TO RELEASE 20 STAGES

SISTER HAZEL TO RELEASE
20 STAGES
LIVE CD/DVD/LP
20 Songs Recorded in 20 Venues to Celebrate 20 Years of Music
#SH20Stages
(Nashville, Tennessee...) - Twenty years into the storied career of a band whose devoted fan base continues to grow, Sister Hazel is honoring those fans with 20 Stagesa live double CD, double LP and DVD to be released October 7, 2014 via Rock Ridge Music. The release, celebrating the 20th anniversary of Sister Hazel, features 20 tracks recorded live at 20 of the band's favorite venues.

The Gainesville, FL-bred band continues to write, record and tour over 100 dates a year with its original members intact: vocalist Ken Block, guitarist/vocalist Drew Copeland, lead guitarist Ryan Newell, drummer Mark Trojanowski and bassist Jett Beres. "All of us like a lot of different music," said Trojanowski, "but we have a vibe together, one that helps to create the Sister Hazel signature mix of Southern pop hooks and country harmonies and story songs. We strive to give our audience something different each time."

The first new release from Sister Hazel since 2010, 20 Stages will include live versions of such fan favorites as "All For You," "Mandolin Moon" and "Champagne High" as well as three brand new tracks. The DVD features commentary from the band about each song, the venues and the role fans played in choosing both. The limited-edition double vinyl LP is presented in an old-school gatefold sleeve and will include a digital download.

Selecting which 20 songs from the band's vast repertoire was as much of a challenge as deciding which performance to include from which venue. The venues were as diverse as their ever-growing fan base, and covered 10 states, Washington, DC, The Bahamas, Honduras and even a cruise ship.

"This collection of songs is as much about the fans as it is about Sister Hazel," said Jett Beres. "We have fans who have been with us for all 20 years and some who have only recently discovered the band. So picking the 20 songs and then deciding which performances and venues to include was a real labor of love."

Half of the video footage for the DVD was shot using GoPro cameras and rigging. Creative camera placement gives viewers unique perspectives from the stage, including mounts on drums and guitars, back stage and audience. Yet another nod to their devotees, footage submitted by fans was also included in the DVD. "The only way we can keep doing what we are doing is having our fans continue to connect and support us," added Copeland.

20 Stages will be available at iTunes, Amazon and other digital stores, as well as traditional retail outlets. The band is currently offering exclusive pre-order packages through their website www.SisterHazel.com.

The band's Rock Boat excursion, the world's greatest floating music festival, will celebrate its 15th anniversary January 24-28, 2015 and is already sold out. Sister Hazel will host Barenaked Ladies, Michael Franti & Spearhead and numerous other acts representing a variety of musical genres. Additional details can be found at www.therockboat.com.

Named after local Gainesville missionary Sister Hazel Williams, the band is deeply committed to charitable work. They founded Lyrics For Life and raised money for multiple children's cancer charities and more recently, partnered with Feed The Children to raise money to build a new feeding center for the families in the community of Los Laureles, Honduras.

Josh Thompson Performs With Soldier Contest Winner

Josh Thompson Performs With Soldier Contest Winner

Denver, CO -- This weekend, Evan Masters, a soldier in the Minnesota Army National Guard, had the opportunity of a lifetime - sharing the stage with his favorite country artist, Josh Thompson.  Masters was the winner of a contest held in April surrounding the release of Thompson's current album Turn It Up.  In the contest, fans submitted a 15 second clip performing a cover of one of Josh's songs on Instagram in order to win a chance to perform a song with him live.  Thompson himself chose the winner, and Masters picked Thompson's Friday night show at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill in Denver to perform "You Ain't Seen Country Yet" with him.   Several of Masters' hometown friends from Minnesota surprised him by flying to Denver to catch the performance, and spent time with Josh and his band on his bus following the show.
