About Josh Abbott Band:
Josh Abbott Band is a
Warner Music Nashville recording artist hailing from Lubbock, TX, where it was founded in 2006 while Josh Abbott attended graduate school at Texas Tech University. The Red Raider alum recalls the epiphany he had during a concert at Lubbock’s Blue Light to write and play his own music for a living. Since its formation, the band of Texas troubadours, composed of lead vocalist Josh Abbott, Austin Davis (banjo), Preston Wait (fiddle), Edward Villanueva (drums), James Hertless (bass) and Caleb Keeter (guitar), have opened for acts such as Eli Young Band, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and Pat Green.
Already, the band boasts sensational albums like “Small Town Family Dream” and “She’s Like Texas,” as well as Texas Music Chart toppers like “My Texas,” the musically riveting passion of “Touch” and “Oh, Tonight,” featuring the talents of Grammy Award-winning Country chanteuse Kasey Musgraves, which charted at No. 44 on the Billboard charts. While he expands his horizons beyond the Lone Star State, Abbott’s independent Texas spirit is stronger than ever.

Nashville, TN – (July 10, 2014) – As revealed across his social networks, rising country artist Joel Crouse will release his debut studio album, EVEN THE RIVER RUNS on August 19th. Produced by Jamie Houston, the Show Dog - Universal Music project includes the talented singer-songwriter’s newest offering, “Don’t Tell Me,” which is set to hit SiriusXM’s The Highway.

I'm very excited for everyone to see who I am through this record and to follow my journey in life as I write about it,” shares Crouse.

EVEN THE RIVER RUNS, is a remarkable 10-song collection that highlights Crouse’s songwriting prowess as he had a hand in writing every song on the project. Recently featured in the CW’s smash TV show Hart of Dixie, “Don’t Tell Me” was co-written by Crouse and Nashville hit makers James Dean Hicks and Jamie Houston. Other album highlights include his Top 35 breakout debut, “If You Want Some,” with fan-favorites such as “Why God Made Love Songs” and “You Could Break A Heart Like That.”

The Massachusetts native is known for his energetic live shows, which landed him opening tour slots with some of country music’s biggest stars, including 16 dates on Taylor Swift’s RED Tour. He has also opened for The Band Perry, Toby Keith, Darius Rucker, Sara Evans, and even the Goo Goo Dolls. Crouse recently fulfilled a lifelong dream, as he made his debut on the Grand Ole Opry stage. Thanks to his grandfather, Crouse was introduced to country music and classic rock at a young age, and those influences can be found on his debut album.

Garth Brooks Is Back

» Garth Is Back: "It's a day of joy," Garth Brooks said at the outset of this morning's press conference. "Not going to be lying to you, it's also under a cloud right now." Sony Chairman/CEO Doug Morris introduced Brooks, confirming the label home for new music from Brooks. "It's because Doug Morris took the time to find me at my convenience," Brooks said of his signing with Sony. "Everybody loves everybody when you get started. We'll see in a year. I hope you don't regret this. I hope I don't. I think we'll be alright."
Producer Allen Reynolds' retirement has Brooks working with Mark Miller, who engineered the Reynolds-produced albums. "I've never had more fun in my life making music," Brooks said, noting that RCA will handle retail and radio, with new music coming sometime around the end of this month. The double album will land at all physical retailers sometime around Black Friday. "I'm getting my ass kicked by the songwriters right now," he said. "We're cutting everything but Garth stuff right now. The level of songwriting stunned me."
"We've never allowed ourselves to go digital," Brooks said. "That will begin in next two or three weeks ..." exclusively at garthbrooks.com. "That's the only place you can get Garth Brooks music." A window will be opened in which fans can buy the entire catalog.
Based on a promise made to a young fan at a show in Las Vegas, Brooks will call Andy from Atlanta to tell him the date and city of the first tour stop on July 14. Official word will follow at an unspecified time. "We hope we give you a show that makes you forget the ones in the '90s," he said. "That is our goal." Brooks is working with Ticketmaster to keep ticket prices reasonable, with an announcement expected in the next few weeks.
Speaking to the cloud he referenced in the open, "Ireland? I don't have a clue," he said. "I wish I could tell you I saw it coming ... We don't treat people different, so now what do I do with those 160,000 people, and why are they treated different?" Brooks offered to fly to Ireland immediately and "get on my knees and beg" if the Prime Minister would meet with him.
Before the presser got underway, a train sounded its horn behind the venue. It was a fitting metaphor for the train that is now underway and on its way through country music. "Scared? Yes," Brooks said. "Old? Yes. I want to thank God and everybody that has given me the chance to look at the second half of a career. I don't know how many artists get this chance."
