Tequilla Mockingbyrd – three of a kind!

Tequilla Mockingbyrd – three of a kind!

This band is young, dynamic and fresh; they make their way in country music, with their own style of music, which is very pleasant to listen at.
They actually started, when Tyler Wade and Brandon Wallace were put together, to play on a festival, both get along quite well and so there have been thoughts, to work together.
Tyler Wade the guitarist & vocalist, came from a hard working Texan family, with strong, moral and also ethic thinking. He has been in the Texas bar scene since the age of 18. I cite Tyler Wade, he once said, quote, "Music has allowed me to go to places, meet people and do things I would have never been able to otherwise, unquote. He knew that he had to work hard, to get what he wants. One line of a song, tells you the exact words, it called “Rising From Nothing”. It is more about the fight in the dog, not the dog in the fight.

Then there was Brandon Wallace, he had to walk the hard way, to become a professional bassist in country music. He was a former Fire Fighter/Medic for nine years, until a line of duty injury took his career away from him. He played guitar for quite a few years, but the accident left him with a nerve damage and partial paralysis in his hands. He was no longer able to make chords with his left hand. After several years he discovered the 8 string octave bass, and developed a method of playing, that allowed him to compensate for his injuries. He is currently the only bassist in Texas country music that uses one exclusively.

Shortly after Tyler and Brandon decided to stay together, they found Mikey Leedy, the drummer; he is the only member that is not from Vernon Texas. He comes from Amarillo and Mikey is a third generation musician, from a very musically and talented family. Mikey did bull riding in the circuit, for many years, before he turned back to his roots as a professional musician. He got a nick name from his fans; they called him „Animal”!
So after these three nice guys match perfectly together, they hit the country road!!! They became a real good combination and flashed the Country scene with their appearance. They mixed a cocktail of outlaw country, southern rock and Texas country music and you can call it, a real good mélange. It burned, it was present, and it got this special kind of brand.
Those three musicians are totally different than others, and there music makes them special, in a real nice way. Sure - the sound is far away from the old country music we know, but the times are changing, and it is still country music - it rocks! To them this kind of music - fit like a glove.
There songs tell stories, about the daily life, about struggling and standing up again. Certain situations, we all had to undergo somehow, one way or another. They try to walk the audience through emotions and all the memories, they keep deep inside of them and which they don´t want to lose.
Tyler, Brandon and Mikey left the one way road and went into another direction; they present their public a lot of emotion and power, that special kind of feeling that became rare in today’s country music.

Until June 2014, a new album called” Afflictions and Addictions” will be released, and they are really excited about that.

Brett Eldredge Hits New Heights

Brett Eldredge Hits New Heights
By Lorie Hollabaugh
© 2014 CMA Close Up® News Service / Country Music Association®, Inc.
Brett Eldredge opened the biggest year of his career in 2013, with a chart-topping smash, “Don’t Ya” (written by Eldredge, Chris DeStefano and Ashley Gorley). He also toured with Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift, and has made numerous media appearances, including atop a float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
But success wasn’t quick in coming to the hard-working artist. His first single, “Raymond” (Eldredge and Truman Bradley Crisler), a heartfelt song about an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s, was released to critical acclaim but mediocre chart achievement. When a second single failed to reach the Top 40, he decided to pause, regroup and ultimately work even harder to make his mark.
“I went back into the studio, writing sometimes two times a day,” he recalled. “I thought, ‘I’m gonna get this record right. I’m gonna get my first album out. I want to do this for the rest of my life. I don’t want it to stop now. I don’t want this little miss to be the end of my career. I’m gonna start here!’ That fired me up.”
That also gave him the idea of titling his first album Bring You Back. “That song (the title cut, by Ross Copperman and Heather Morgan) signified what was going on in my career. I had to remind myself what it was like when I first got to Nashville. I didn’t care who told me no and what it took to get to the top and get a publishing deal. I learned to write songs and I started knocking on doors. And when you start going out to radio, there’ll be times that not everybody totally believes in you right away, because it’s new to them. You have to take some of that rejection, turn yourself into an animal and say, ‘OK, I gotta make them believe in this.’ So I brought myself back to that fire I had when I first started.”
“Opportunities for Brett have come about because of his undeniable talent, work ethic and infectious personality,” said Brad Bissell, Eldredge’s agent at CAA. “He’s fortunate to have relationships with artists who are willing to give him a hand. Trace Adkins and Miranda Lambert were the first to offer him opening slots. Keith (Urban) has been a longtime supporter. When ‘Raymond’ came out, Keith mentioned in an interview how the song affected him. And when ‘Don’t Ya’ went to the top of the charts, the timing was finally right for Keith to offer Brett a place on his tour. Brett has always been grateful for Keith’s early support. And now Brett is very happy to be working with Keith this summer.”
Eldredge continues to push his career to new heights — which may prove to be hazardous, given that his label and management bet him he had to skydive if “Don’t Ya” hit No. 1. “I remember ‘Don’t Ya’ got to 25 and then 15, and then all of a sudden it was like, ‘Maybe we need to start researching skydiving places! Maybe this could happen,’” he recalled. “Flash forward and I’m looking out the window at 14,000 feet up. That song took about a year to get to the top, and I’m looking out the window and this is about to happen! And I’m freaked out about heights. I never, ever would have done that if I didn’t test myself with a goal — and it made me live a lot more. I just want to make sure I enjoy it along the way.”

Beth Cayhall, Brings her Pageant Skills to a Jr. Miss Pageant Event

Beth Cayhall, Brings her Pageant Skills to a Jr. Miss Pageant Event

Beth Cayhall & 8th grade contestant winner Presley Cavazos
Country music powerhouse vocalist, Beth Cayhall, devoted her time last weekend by sharing her pageant advice as a guest judge, along with a performance at the Stewarts Creek Middle School’s Jr. Miss Pageant Lady In Red last Saturday in Smyrna, TN.
Cayhall, who was a former Ms. Delaware contestant and previously won Delaware’s Ms. Tri-County was one of the evaluators for the 32 students who participated in this pageant. Before the event started, she graced the stage and performed one of her latest songs she co-wrote with her industry peer and friend, Timothy Blocksom, called Mirror Mirror
“I couldn’t think of a better song to sing for this pageant,” said Beth. “When Timothy and I were writing it, I saw this being the perfect song for children and middle school ages. Young girls try to live up to what they see on TV or what’s in a magazine. Everyone is made so beautifully and they should believe in what they can be as individuals. Every participant here proved their confidence, intelligence and self-esteem and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of this.”

Cayhall, who’s currently writing material for her next project, has been receiving a great response from radio and industry since the release of her debut single Boys Eat Your Hearts Out and her follow-up release, Just Love. GotCountryOnline called her a "young Shania Twain.” This effervescent gal is loaded with talent, ambition, and savvy style. Her latest album Worth Fighting For includes all but two songs which she co-wrote, teaming up with writers such as Dave Robbins and Lonnie Wilson. Former Country Music Association’s 'Who New To Watch Artist,' Cayhall has worked with Grammy-nominated producer Kent Wells (Dolly Parton) to highlight her fresh, upbeat approach to classic country music.
