Ashton Shepherd and her America

Ashton Shepherd Cooks Up a New Home-Grown Patriotic Single and Her Own Southern Cooking Show
Billboard hot country artist Ashton Shepherd is bringing back her authentic country sound with the release her new single, This Is America, just in time for the Fourth of July holiday. It will be released this Friday, June 28th by going to AirPlay Direct. This single will be on CDX #575 (distributed July 22nd).
This new single, which will be off her upcoming album set to be released late July, is something she is very proud of. “There’s also a special surprise duet that I can’t wait for everyone to hear,” says Ashton.
This Is America was solely written by Ashton and portrays the same genuine country style that the audience expects when they think of Ashton Shepherd. “I wrote This is America when I was tired of seeing the negative things in the news, people bickering back and forth, and everyone seeming to be in turmoil and at the same time, knowing that people are in this chaos because the money's runnin' low, though we been workin’ real hard. I've been there before. As I wrote this song, the more I realized times are hard and America needs to stick together,” says Ashton.
Ashton will also be joining the ranks of other professional country foodies such as Trisha Yearwood, Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman, etc by having her own cooking show, “Cookin’ Country” on the Foodie Network Online EWave TV. EWave TV is America's first multi-channel online television network and will air her first episode July 4th at http://foodies.ewave.tv/.
Nominee for the 2011 American Country Award for Female Music Video and 2009 Academy of Country Music Award Top New Female Vocalist, this southern belle was born and raised in the small Alabama town of Coffeeville. Growing up listening and
singing along with greats such as Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, Patty Loveless and Shania Twain, Ashton’s passion for music grew stronger. In 2008, her debut album Sounds So Good produced two Top 40 hits Takin’ Off This Pain and the title track Sounds So Good. Her second album, Where Country Grows, includes the Top 20 hit Look It Up. She most recently participated in the CMA Music Festival activities by taking part in the CMA Kick-Off Parade as well as a Celebrity Go-Go Challenge, which raised money for Hear The Music Live.

Jess Moskaluke Releases New Single “Everything Falls”

Jess Moskaluke Releases New Single “Everything Falls”

Toronto, ON; June 25, 2013 - Recently crowned the 2013 Female Vocalist of the Year by the Saskatchewan Country Music Association, Jess Moskaluke (MDM Recordings Inc./Universal Music Canada) releases her new single “Everything Falls” today to Canadian country radio.  Produced by Mitch Merrett and written by Katrina Elam, Ben Glover and Andrew Dorff, the track explores the distress of unrequited love, and the intense feeling of longing fueled by unfulfilled desires, as Moskaluke’s evocative vocals sing  “I wanna be the one running through your mind, every little part of me memorized....”.  The single will be released to iTunes on July 16, 2013.
Shares Moskaluke, “I think the song displays a more vulnerable side to me that I have not shown before in my music.  It is a song about the haunting need for something (or someone!) that doesn’t come easy; with a message to find the courage to go after your heart’s desire, instead of suffering in silence.”
Moskaluke was recently chosen for the second round of Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) nominations in both the Rising Star and Female Vocalist of the Year categories.  She will continue to perform throughout the summer with various Canadian dates, in addition to appearing at the CCMA MDM Recordings Inc. showcase in Edmonton this fall.  Most immediately, she will return to the studio this week to collaborate with Corey Crowder to record tracks for her new album.

Listening to Muscadine on Go Time Records, you might bet Joe and Kristen Sins grew up together in some crossroads town deep in the Texas countryside. Not so: Both are Californians, though neither is city folk; Kristen grew up in Sonora, on the edge of Yosemite National Park, while Joe’s roots are in Twentynine Palms, close to another wonder of Western nature, the Mojave Desert.
Yet here they are, joined in marriage and music on one of the strongest duo debuts of recent years. Joe has a little grit and twang in his tenor, while Kristen stretches from honeyed intimacy to dramatic upper-register flights. This contrast adds depth to their harmonies without compromising their solo prowess. They wrote each track together too, reflecting their ability to convey emotion with a vivid, even urgent eloquence. And their arrangements are interesting: A unison passage on “One Stoplight Town” symbolizes the passion of their union. Elsewhere, on the title track, they glide between fourths and sixths, with grace or punch as the music requires.
With Kent Wells producing, Muscadine has a guitar-heavy sound, mixed tastefully to energize rather than clash with the vocals. This approach electrifies a story of young love on “Romeo and Juliet Sparks” and, even more impressively, the heartbreaking narrative of a woman surrendering her newborn son to another mother on “She Gave It All Up.” This is a classic Country story song, delivered with the finesse, empathy and feeling it deserves.
KRISTEN: “Popeye’s Chicken.”
JOE: “Del Taco, when I can find it.”
KRISTEN: “Kenny Rogers.”
JOE: “My wife – and I get to live the dream! Otherwise, I would choose George Strait.”
KRISTEN: “Unstoppable.”
JOE: “It’s Been a Helluva Ride.
KRISTEN: “I love to play Mario video games.”
JOE: “Keep guessing!”

Nashville, TN (June 25, 2013) – Jake Owen is all over Country radio this week with his fastest rising single to date “Anywhere With You” topping both the Mediabase Country Chart and Billboard Country Chart. The catchy song has impressively logged the biggest weekly audience sum with 43.8 million impressions since the Billboard Country Airplay Chart switched to audience-based rankings in 2005. Marking his fourth consecutive #1 from the chart-topping BAREFOOT BLUE JEAN NIGHT album, “Anywhere With You” has been certified GOLD by the RIAA for selling over 500,000 copies. The RCA Nashville project has delivered back-to-back #1’s with multi-week hits - the DOUBLE PLATINUM “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and PLATINUM “Alone With You” – along with the GOLD-certified hit “The One That Got Away” that he co-wrote.
“I’m incredibly amazed at what the Barefoot album has done,” shares Jake Owen. “To have four #1’s in a row … I’m so thankful to country radio and my fans. This wouldn’t have happened without you and I can’t wait to share new music with everyone!”
To win a chance to be right where Jake is, WSMV Channel 4 and Jammit Inc. are inviting fans to submit their best video performance of “Anywhere With You” between now and July 15. Using Jammit software, contestants record and upload videos to compete for the top band positions, bringing the best vocal and instrumental performances together into a virtual online band. Top singers, guitarists, bass players and drummers will be featured on Channel 4’s show “More At Midday” and the grand prize winners will play for Jake in Nashville. For more details and submissions, visit jammit.com/contest/jake-owen.
The ACA Breakthrough Artist of the Year has teamed up with producer Joey Moi for his fourth full-length studio album with the lead single expected to be released this August.
Currently, Jake is touring with Jason Aldean's NIGHT TRAIN TOUR with upcoming stadium shows at Fenway Park in Boston, MA (7/12 & 7/13) and Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL (7/20).
Jake first captured the national spotlight with his hits “Startin’ with Me,” “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” and “Eight Second Ride.” His revival of “Life in a Northern Town” with Sugarland and Little Big Town in 2008 earned him Grammy and CMA Award nominations. Jake was named 2009’s Top New Male Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music.

Taylor Swift - Paints Toronto Red

Taylor Swift -Paints Toronto Red by Chuck Schultz

Taylor Swift is a woman who knows what she wants. If there was anything made abundantly clear during the 22-year-old country music crossover sensation’s 2 hour set June 15th at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, it was that the Pennsylvania native is no wilting lily when it comes to the art of performance.

From the very moment the curtain rose on Swift’s Red tour, revealing the lean-and-leggy fedora-capped blond standing at the top of the staircase in a white blouse, leather hot pants and ruby shoes ensemble as she belted out “State Of Grace,” Swift was a master of precision. With two projection screens next to a massive stage that housed a small armada of support singers, dancers and an eight-piece band, the camera was not only the instrument of projection in providing her fans the clearest of vantage points throughout the program, but Swift designed her presentation around it.

Exuding a way-beyond-her-years confidence that befits a superstar, Swift was so concise in her mannerisms that every facial expression, every gesture, every dance move, even every hair on her head, it seemed, was expertly “Taylored” — if you’ll excuse the pun — to fit into the grand scheme of the show.

What appeared as — and should have felt as — so contrived instead seemed perfectly genuine, due to Swift’s proficiency as a generous entertainer and her earthy personality. Perceived as both star and a pal — women view her more as the latter than the former — Swift has struck an unusual allegiance with the fairer sex thanks to the slice-of-life insight of her music.

And just how devoted they are to her — the audience percentage ratio of women-to-men was probably 90 to 10 — was made evident the fourth song in, when a chorus of soprano voices suddenly rose to accompany Swift for one of her familiar Fearless hits, “You Belong With Me,” reinterpreted in a glamourous Motown style presentation with the singer and songwriter adorned in a classy red gown and performing a coquettish dance routine.
Yes, Taylor World covered many territories, from the over-the-top melodramatic vignettes that gave the spectacle treatment to songs like “The Lucky One” and “I Knew You Were Trouble;” to the simple renditions of “Mean,” which began with Swift strumming a banjo before it erupted into theatrics, her earliest hit “Tim McGraw,” and an acoustic-guitar duet of “Everything Has Changed” with animated opener Ed Sheeran, the latter two songs performed on a small stage at the other end of the venue.

Where it differed from other big-time stadium shows — Swift threw out the figure of 45,000 in attendance for the second of her two sold-out Rogers Centre concerts — and what grounded it was the conversation.

Taylor Swift talked. A lot. This wasn’t mere “how ya doin’ Toronto” banter between songs. After completing the opening “State Of Grace,” “Holy Ground” (a heavily-percussive number that was part Blue Man Group in terms of drumming) and “Red,” she spent a good five minutes explaining how she chooses locations for her world tours.
Later in the show, she explained the concept behind her album and her show Red, revealing that she writes about either love or breakups and sees them in colors, with red representing “my crazy emotions.”

She spoke long and often, whether it was to introduce songs like “Begin Again” or “All Too Well,” and repeatedly advocated that people take up the practice of expressing their feelings, “whether it’s in a diary or in a song,” as a way to learn and grow.
By the time the three-ring circus of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” signaled the end of the show (a jubilant send-off replete with fireworks), Taylor Swift’s near-flawless execution of her triumphant vision indicates that this is only the beginning of a very, very, very long run at the top.

She’s got the chops to become scary brilliant.

CMA Music Festival Set A New Attendance

CMA Fest 2013 Review-Chuck Schultz
CMA Music Festival set a new attendance record in 2013 with daily attendance topping 80,000 fans, a nearly 13 percent increase over 2012. 71,000 were attendance in 2012. The increase was attributed to expanding the event into the new Music City Center, which was dubbed the AT&T U-verse Fan Fair X. The new venue nearly tripled the space available, creating room for new exhibits, additional stages, and attractions for families in the Keep the Kids Playing Pavilion.
This event has a global reputation as the destination for any Country Music fan,” said Steve Moore, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “The support we receive from our industry and the dedication of our fans is unduplicated. Each year we strive to improve and enhance the event for our attendees and the artists – and this is undeniably our best CMA Music Festival ever!”
The live entertainment is what everybody comes to CMA Fest for. 11 different stages, where do you start when you have four days/nights? You can’t be everywhere at once. You’ve got the LP Field shows at night which featured performances by; Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Kip Moore, Florida/Georgia Line among others. During the afternoon if you were lucky you caught a fireball set by Chris Janson, some great harmonies of High Valley and the sass of Sarah Darling and Maggie Rose.
If you are a fan of Country Music you must attend CMA Fest at least once. 11 stages 200 hours of music with 450 artists, what is not to love?
