Michael Christopher Debuts New Music

Country Singer/Songwriter Michael Christopher Debuts New Music at CMA Music Festival in Nashville
Fast-rising country music crooner Michael Christopher made his CMA Music Festival debut this past weekend during Nashville’s four-day extravaganza.  The Pennsylvania native performed at some of the more renowned honkytonks along Broadway in downtown Music City throughout the weekend, as well as meeting with media, management, and other country music artists.
“This is what it’s all about,” Michael said of his CMA Fest experience.  “To be in Nashville during a one-of-a-kind event like this, it’s inspirational, motivating, and just an absolute thrill to experience.”
In addition to the material off his debut album, ‘You and the Open Road,’ Christopher performed two new songs for the Nashville crowd as well.  “I Wanna Hate You,” a blues-influenced tale of heartbreak, has been garnering strong reviews since Michael and his band have began playing it at shows.
“I recently started playing “I Wanna Hate You” even before CMA Fest and it’s been getting a great response from the crowds.  It’s a song about heartbreak…it’s a very relatable song.  We’re definitely excited to hear that people have liked the song.”
Michael, along with his lead guitarist, Zach Reeder, also debuted the brand new song “My Kinda Summer” over the weekend.  The tune, a catchy summer-influenced sing-along number, was welcomed with a great response from the CMA Fest audience.
“We’re really glad we debuted “My Kinda Summer” this weekend,” Michael said.  “We had a lot of good feedback on the song.  It’s another catchy one, and it’s about summer so you’ll naturally want to sing along!”

David Church, Award Winning Country Music Artist from RFD-TV song climbs to the top of the charts on
Nashville, TN  6/10/2013 -  David Church, the star of RFD-TV’s popular show, “Midwest Country” has song “The Old Red White & Blue, climbing in the top of the charts on
David Church’s song, “The Old Red White & Blue” is rising fast in the charts on one of the world’s most popular music websites,  The song, currently at #45 on the national country charts and #47 on the Global country charts was written by Church.  Inspired by a story he heard about some of the struggles the veterans are having after returning from recent wars, he wanted to write a song to thank them for their service.  Another original song by Church also climbed to the top of the charts. “I Don’t Live In Lonely Anymore” rose to #20 on the national charts and was #1 in the state of Ohio.  “With almost a million artists in the country genre, that’s an incredible accomplishment”, stated by Michael Doernberg, the CEO and developer of one of the most popular music websites in the world.
David Church is making a huge connection to fans who are starving for the traditional sound of “Retro Country” music.  From college students to great grandparents the impact of his “roots/retro” music brings a connection that crosses generations. He has been featured as a regular on the RFD-TV’s popular show “Midwest Country” for the past 10 years, along with his wife, Terri Lisa Church.  And they have created millions of enthusiastic loyal fans all over the world.  It is easy to understand why he is RFD-TV’s “most requested” artist, and the star of “Midwest Country.  RFD-TV is broadcast on Dishnet, DirecTV and thousands of cable networks to over 60 million viewers.  Midwest country remains one of the top billing shows on the network broadcast during primetime on Saturday night, right next to Marty Stuart.
Church is recognized for standing on his own, with his own music.  David’s background is firmly rooted in traditional music, with a strong influence by the early sounds from Jimmy Martin, Hank Williams, Marty Robbins and Merle Haggard.  And he is recognized all over the world for his tribute to Hank Williams Sr;Church sounds so much like Hank it is amazing”, stated Joe Jenson, producer of Midwest Country TV show.  He stated, “I really don’t try to sound like Hank, but just love the music and want to preserve and bring it to the fans.”
David is a member of ROPE (Reunion of Professional Entertainers) an organization made of up mostly celebrity country music artists and music industry executives.  Marty Martel, president of ROPE and the officers named Church as a “celebrity” in 2010, when he performed in Nashville at their annual benefit, beside of major artists, Lorrie Morgan, Crystal Gail, John Conley, and more.  He has also toured with Gene Watson.
In recent month’s Church was recognized and honored by Martin guitars as the “#1 Hank Williams Tribute act in the world”.  He was asked to attend and perform at the NAMM conference in Nashville TN, where Martin guitars where introducing a new “retro” series guitar.  Chris Thomas, the director of artist relations presented David with a new D28 retro series guitar, similar to what Hank would have played, but with a new acoustic microphone installed, keeping that authentic sound.  David is also recognized by the Hank Williams Museum located in Montgomery, AL; the Boyhood Home in Georgiana, AL, and a multitude of other organizations.
David and Terri Lisa Church, (also a favorite on RFD-TV) hosted an event kicking off the CMA Fest just prior to CMT Awards at the Hard Rock Café, in June 2012.  They also performed at the event which featured 20 artists including celebrities, Phil Vassar, Georgette Jones, The McClymonts and more, with a fashion show by world renowned “Manuel”, the clothing designer of the stars.
They will be featured on 2 additional TV shows.  “Kelly’s Kountry Junction” a comedy show broadcast on PBS and syndicated all over the world, will feature both artists mid-spring.  And recently on “Video Jukebox” broadcast on Vimeo and Roku, hosted by Laura Dodd.   David and Terri Lisa have been featured locally on WHOL and on Lancaster Perspective with Mike Miller.
Bruce Maier, the editor of a major music magazine, Damn Good Tunes called David, “a rare entertainment entity”.  He went on to say “he creates a visual presentation that is absolutely dazzling to witness. He does something that 99% of all other artists cannot do and that is stand on their own with their own music.”

CD: Erisa Rei - Black Ball

Be Gone, Winter Long 6:01

Erisa Rei, this seems like the most palatable album I have to review. So, we will see. Gypsy in the Desert opens it up. It has that freewheeling, top down highway driving with the wind in your hair sound. I’ve been on many of those trips and can feel the music pulse through me with my foot all the way to the floor. So far it’s a great open.
Black Ball comes up next, or should I say rolls up next. I gotta tell you the first time I saw the title I almost crouched over in pain thinking it was blue balls. After listening to it, now I get the idea. Lyrically, it brings the imagery of a pool hall and the eight ball rolling.
Swing Back to Home slows the album down a bit. In my position I guess it brings about a feeling that should have ended a while ago. I’ve been laid up for almost a year now with no end in sight. Where the sweetness ended and the time to move on is tugging at your sleeve. Like Dominoes keeps it really mellow. Her voice is beautiful in this melody. It kind of brings about pictures of younger days.
News to See begins to pick it up. I don’t know how to compare this. When it gets into the “News to See” refrain it really picks up. It seems like it’d be one of those songs you could really get into screaming out the refrain as it plays. Pushed really shows off her talent both lyrically and written. In the mood I’m in currently this song just fits.
Cannot Change keeps up the same melodic sound, but then Sojourn Band just picks it right back up. I feel like I’m caught in an old Western. My six shooters firmly resting in the holsters at my side, my ten gallon hat new and me sporting a new Sunday’s Best as the tumbleweeds cruise by in the breeze.
Finally, Be Gone Winter Long is a nice ending. It’s like saying a fond farewell to all the emotions brought out by the album.
Overall, I liked the album. It had a nice mix of those emotionally draining ballads, as well as the upbeat songs that kept it together nicely. The last song really sums up the feeling of crossing that barren season of winter and cruising into spring.

Nashville, TN…(June 13, 2013)… Rising country music star Craig Campbell kicked off CMA Fest with a bang by hosting his inaugural Celebrity Cornhole Challenge. Craig and his celebrity friends competed in a cornhole tournament to raise money for the TJ Martell Foundation’s colon cancer research in honor of Craig’s late father who passed away from colon cancer at the age of 36.

The event took place Tuesday June 4th at the Public Square in Downtown Nashville, and featured many of Craig’s celebrity friends, including Bridgette Tatum, Dean Alexander, James Wesley, Ryan Kinder, Big D & Bubba, Chase Rice, THE FARM, Gloriana, Greg Bates, Jerrod Niemann, LoCash Cowboys, Love and Theft, Rachel Bradshaw, Whitney Duncan, Australian duo Baylou, GAC’s Suzanne Alexander, Titans Kicker Rob Bironas, and Storme Warren as emcee. A few lucky fans bid on the chance to play in the tournament alongside their favorite celebs. Campbell and his teammate Eric Lindsey proudly posed for photos with fans and their trophies after taking the top spot in the tournament. Second place went to Brad McDonald and Corey Hadley, third to LoCash Cowboys, and fourth to Bigger Picture artist Ryan Kinder and Bigger Picture President, Michael Powers.

In addition to watching their favorite celebs battle it out with beanbags, fans also enjoyed great musical performances from Baylou, Rachel Bradshaw, Ryan Kinder, Jerrod Niemann, and Craig himself closing out the event with a crowd-pleasing performance of his hit “Fish”. The event was a huge success, collecting more than $15,000 with proceeds benefitting the TJ Martell Foundation.

"I’m immensely grateful to all my fans and friends who came out to take part in my first Celebrity Cornhole Challenge. It meant a lot to have so much support in our efforts to toss out colon cancer,” says Campbell. “We are already making plans for next year’s event, and I’m strategizing how to land a win again in year two!”

As Campbell wraps his first Cornhole Challenge and begins planning for next year, he is also excited about his lead single “Outta My Head” climbing into the top 25 on the Billboard Country chart.  Written by Brandon Kinney, Cole Swindell, and Michael Carter, the song is featured on his recently released sophomore album NEVER REGRET, available now everywhere music is sold.

Generous event supporters included Bigger Picture, Creative Artists Agency, McPherson Guitars, SESAC, Team Cocktail, The T.J. Martell Foundation, Twisted Tea: Hard Iced Tea, Yazoo, The Stage, Legends Corner, Second Fiddle, Crossroads, and more.

ABOUT CRAIG CAMPBELL: After moving from his hometown of Lyons, Georgia to Nashville in 2002 to pursue his country music dreams, American Country Awards nominee Craig Campbell quickly picked up work as a keyboardist in Luke Bryan and Tracy Byrd’s bands and was later discovered playing a regular gig at legendary Nashville honky-tonk, The Stage. Since signing with Bigger Picture, he has entertained crowds across the U.S., Australia and Switzerland, performed for national TV audiences on Fox & Friends, Huckabee and Marie and has been profiled in HLN’s series Road Warriors. The singer-songwriter has earned well-deserved praise from the country’s toughest critics for his 2011 self-titled debut album, which has sold more than a half-million tracks. Campbell’s autobiographical lead single, “Family Man” was a top 15 hit followed by fan-favorite “Fish.” His current smash "Outta My Head" is the lead single from his sophomore album, Never Regret, which is out now.
