Katie Armiger Better In A Black Dress

Katie Armiger’s Black Dress Inducted Into
Hard Rock Memorabilia Collection

(Nashville, Tenn. – May 29, 2013)  Country artist Katie Armiger donated her infamous black dress to the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 22nd. Armiger wore the black dress on the historic Opry stage in August 2012, the night her “Better In A Black Dress” music video went #1 on GAC’s Top 20 Countdown.

“I am a longtime fan of Hard Rock Cafe,” said Armiger.  “Ever since I was little girl I can remember visiting the restaurants around the country and admiring the eclectic array of memorabilia that graced the walls.  Being asked to include one of my dresses to display alongside all of the superstars of music for thousands of people to see at such a well-respected franchise is such a great honor.”

In addition to the induction, Armiger performed at Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas (3771 Las Vegas Blvd. S.) as part of an event, hosted by 102.7 The Coyote. All proceeds from the event went to the Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon.

Interview with Krystal Keith

Interview with Krystal Keith

Lamitschka:  Music has many new fans throughout Europe who may be hearing about you for the first time. How would you describe yourself and the music you play to someone who has never seen or heard you?

Krystal Keith: A good blend of all of the phases of country music . A little rock, blues, traditional old school and modern.

Lamitschka:  How was the last year for you? What were your highlights?

Krystal Keith:  It was amazing. Being out on tour is always the highlight for me. Performing for fans and connecting with them in that live forum, there's nothing like it.

Lamitschka:  What is your latest CD and how's it doing?

Krystal Keith:  I recently released a 4 song EP as a sampler of what will be on my upcoming full-length album, along with a video for the lead song from the EP "Daddy Dance With Me" and it is doing great. It was really well received, the video is close to one million views which is breathtaking for me to even say!

Lamitschka:  How did you choose the title for the CD?  Is there a story behind the name?

Krystal Keith: Whiskey and Lace is a title that describes my personality to a tee. I'm really girly with an edgy twist and I prefer whiskey when I drink, I'm not really into fruity cocktails. I wrote the song with Rodney Clawson and Lynn Hutton and just knew it had to be the album title.

Lamitschka:  Do you write the songs yourself? If not, how do you go about finding the songs for your CD?

Krystal Keith: I wrote a few of the songs, my dad wrote a few and then we chose a few from other writers. When choosing songs, I just was really adamant that the songs meant something to me and really moved me in one way or another.

Lamitschka:  How much creative control do you have over your music?

Krystal Keith: I have a lot of creative control. I am extremely blessed that I have producers that share my vision so working toward a common goal with them makes it an incredibly satisfying experience.

Lamitschka:  What inspired you to become an artist?

Krystal Keith: Music has always been my path. I have always said I would be a singer. I grew up in a house full of music so I would say a combination of being raised on the best music and growing up in the industry is what was the driving force behind my desire to be an artist.

Lamitschka:  What inspired you to become a songwriter?

Krystal Keith:  I always loved creative writing and luckily had my dad as an amazing songwriting mentor. He really tried to teach me about songwriting and help me develop into the writer I am today.

Lamitschka:  Who is your biggest critic, yourself or others?

Krystal Keith: Definitely me, for example, I worry so much about whether I phrased a line in a song the correct way so that people will understand what I'm trying to say. Sometimes I have to remind myself that the beauty of a song is that the meaning is up to interpretation. The listener will make the song say what they need it to for them.

Lamitschka:  Is there any place you haven't played that you would like to?

Krystal Keith: I would love to play the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman. I would love to just be a part of that history.
