Coy Taylor - Better Man

Coy Taylor
Better Man
Shake the Trailer         3:00 Better Man          4:00 I Don’t Love You Anymore 3:03
Windows and Mirrors             3:16 5 O’clock Angel 3:55 Topless    3:14
Whiskey I.V. 3:08

It’s been a long day; my wife got her driver’s license, my daughter had her last day of kindergarten at school, both are getting ready to go to Taiwan for summer, and we all took a nice drive down through Cocoa Beach at sunset. Hopefully, Coy Taylor can add some fitting music as an end to it all.
Well, it sounds like springs are rocking which I can only imagine as being from both the mattress and the shocks bouncing in the trailer-park. So far Shake the Trailer has painted some imagery on the brain and put an ear-to-ear smile on my face. I’d better wake up from this wet dream and get back to critiquing.
Those squeaking springs lead directly into the song. Strong electric chords and a powerful voice push deep into this song. The writing meshes with the vocals to push you there. Those hard times when you barely have anything left and you just have to remember that memories came along with them. It sounds like some great advice. When you’ve hit those bad times just get out and have some great times.
Better Man is the title track that seems to transition that out of control night of moonshine swigging and trailer bouncing into the blood-stained eyed, guilt ridden hangover of the mirrored soul searching morning.
Well that didn’t take long, I guess the guilt got the better of him in I Don’t Love You Anymore. The pictures removed, the phone number changed and probably the dumped had to somehow explain it to his friends without also wiping the dignity from his eyes.
Windows and Mirrors seem to be the only things to replenish those memories and tear at the heart. This song adds the depth that everyone has felt in those situations. 5 O’clock Angel keeps that idea flowing lyrically. This song really pushes the idea, or better yet tries to remind listeners that jobs or your social lives aren’t the things or moments that should really matter.
Topless is a different kind of song. It’s fun. You can feel the sun beating with the convertible top down; those memories of yesteryear gone by. Whiskey I.V. sounds like the breakup is creating enough havoc that the electric guitar solos help pump the whisky into the veins.
I always seem to enjoy albums that tell a story, or follow a storyline. Maybe it’s just that my wife and daughter will be getting on a plane in a few hours on their journey to the other side of the world. Whatever the case, Coy Taylor seems to really pull out those feelings that come along with the package; all of those hellos and goodbyes that continuously flow through relationships. I believe any guy or girl would attest to the reality of the raw emotion drawn out by the perfect blend of Coy Taylor's deep vocals, the guitar solos, as well as the drumbeats accompanied and sometimes driven by the high hats.

Toronto, ON - JUNO  Award-winner Clayton Bellamy is set to release his fourth solo album, Five Crow Silver (MDM Recordings Inc. / Universal Music Canada) on June 11, 2013. As a member of Platinum-selling band The Road Hammers, Bellamy hosts an array of special guests on his new record including Bobby Keys (The Rolling Stones, The Who, Eric Clapton), Tom Wilson (Blackie and the Rodeo Kings), Garth Hudson (The Band), Ian McLagan (Faces), Gordie Johnson (Big Sugar) and Tommy Shannon & Chris Layton (Double Trouble). The record features his current single "Goodbye America."

"Five Crow Silver was the scariest and most exhilarating record of my career. Creatively it pushed me to places I had never gone before in my guitar playing, song writing, and also in its subject matter," says Clayton Bellamy. "I was also blessed to be able to have so many amazing friends lend their talent to a project that meant so much to me."

Recorded at various studios across Canada and the U.S., Bellamy co-produced Five Crow Silver with veteran producer/writer/mixer Scott Baggett (Alison Krauss, John Waite, The Road Hammers, Billy Joe Shaver and dozens more), generating a roots, rock-inspired album. Sounds influenced by The Rolling Stones, Faces, Neil Young and Clash, create a truly unique album that emphasizes Bellamy's hard charging vocals.

Bellamy has established a proven track record in the Canadian music scene, winning multiple awards, including a JUNO Award for Best Country Recording, four Canadian Country Music Association Awards and SOCAN Songwriter of the Year. "If you don't stand for anything in your life, then your music won't stand for anything either" says Bellamy, who backs up that statement in Five Crow Silver. Bellamy will be touring across Alberta this summer.

TASTE OF COUNTRY Festival Lineup

 Lisa Matassa Added To
TASTE OF COUNTRY Festival Lineup

Her "Somebody's Baby" Video Tops Four Million
YouTube Views

Nashville, TN (May 16, 2013) -- Country star Lisa Matassa has been added to the lineup at the first TASTE OF COUNTRY Festival on the Late Night Show.  The high-energy singer/songwriter and her band will perform on The Guts & Glory Stage Presented By Ram Saturday, June 15 from 11:45 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Matassa is thrilled to join the launch of the ONLY multi-day Country music festival in the Northeast.  Hunter Mountain is located just two hours outside New York City in the northern part of the state's beautiful Catskill Mountains.  Top Tier acts slated to kick off the event are Willie Nelson, Trace Adkins, Billy Currington, Hunter Hayes, Joe Nichols, and more.
Lisa is a natural fit in the lineup as she is resonating with fans across the globe. YouTube views of her "Somebody's Baby" video have just topped four million.  She boasts over 609,000 Twitter followers, and she has amassed over 196,000 Facebook fans.  The track has gone Top 40 on both the Billboard Indicator and Music Row charts and is the first single from Lisa's enhanced EP of the same name.  "It's almost unreal," says Lisa.  "It's a meaningful song to me, and I have to believe that it's impacting others in a similar way."
Lisa has enjoyed two #1 videos on, and her current video can be seen on TCN, AOL, CMC-TV Country Music Channel and Yahoo!  Over 1600 restaurants ran the "Somebody's Baby" video via Indoor Direct's Dining Network Quick Service Restaurant channel in March.  In April, the clip began running in 3000-plus ClubCom Network-serviced health and fitness centers around the globe.  She recently performed the single on the nationally-televised HALLMARK Channel's "Marie"show, and Good Morning San Diego aired a live interview and showcased the video from Las Vegas during ACM week.  Matassa has opened shows for Dierks Bentley, Leann Rimes, Eric Church, Ronnie Dunn and Lee Brice.  She studied Opera as a child, and her powerful pop voice earned her two Top-10 Dance singles before she turned 20.   The songs were hits in the U.S. and abroad, and they earned her slots on the marquee with acts Taylor Dayne, Brenda K. Starr, TKA and others. Born on Long Island but raised in South Florida, Lisa grew up singing along to Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Johnny Cash.  Once she realized that Country music was her calling, she gave herself to it heart and soul.

Rural Rhythm Records released a long line of Old-Time Country, Bluegrass & Gospel albums during the label's first two decades after Uncle Jim O'Neal started the label in 1955.  Many of these vintage classic albums are still in Rural Rhythm's active catalog available on CD and digital formats.  Many songs are still available in the various artistcollection titles found in the SOUND TRADITIONS series.  Many tracks were previously released only on records and will come back to life through RURAL ROOTS Digital.
Many legends and pioneers released albums during this period including Mac Wiseman, Hylo Brown, Don Reno & Bill Harrell, Red Smiley, Jim Eanes, Vassar Clements, J.E. Mainer, Earl Taylor & Jim McCall, Raymond Fairchild and many more.  Bringing the traditional “retro” vintage sounds from the past to the present in a convenient high-fidelity digital download format, Rural Roots Digital series preserves, protects, promotes and presents the ageless music of these artists for current and future generations to enjoy and appreciate using the technologies of the 21st Century.  Now you can listen to these classics at home or on the go.
Bob Cherry of Cybergrass says, “Vintage music and systems are making a comeback as fans try and recapture the music experience created by the pioneers.  This is a great opportunity for the fans and collectors, as well as educators and historians, to appreciate the music that started it all.  Maintaining a level of “permanence” within the digital world is important. Rural Rhythm is doing a great service to our music with the new Rural Roots Digital series.  Traditional roots music is in good caring hands and it’s out there to be heard and enjoyed.”
Rural Rhythm’s SOUND TRADITIONS collection titles have helped keep the traditional Bluegrass flame burning through the past several decades at the brick & mortar level.  Now the new RURAL ROOTS Digital series will continue the steady flow of available Old-Time Country, Bluegrass & Gospel titles culled from the treasure trove of masters in the Rural Rhythm Records vault…IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC !

Interview with BOB WAYNE

Interview with BOB WAYNE

Lamitschka:  CMNI  has many new fans throughout Europe who may be hearing about you for the first time. How would you describe yourself and the music you play to someone who has never seen or heard you?

BOB WAYNE:  if you like banjos and fiddles and a rowdy hillbilly type style with a punk edge.. Come hang with us!!!

Lamitschka:  How was the last year for you? What were your highlights?

BOB WAYNE:  last year was really busy...actually the last 7 years have been very busy! I have put out 6 records in 7 years, been to Europe 13 times, toured America about 40 times, and even made it to Canada and Brazil!!! I would say the highlights would be just getting to see the world and meet all the good people of the world who like To have a damn good time!!
Lamitschka:  How did you choose the title for your latest CD “Till The Wheels Fall Off”?  Is there a story behind the name?

BOB WAYNE:  I was at a party in Alabama after a show and everyone was taking LSD and drinking moonshine, there were naked girls jumping on a trampoline, and I was sitting with a 70 year old man with no teeth who was just putting a hit of LSD in his mouth and I said "man, I can't believe your still partying at your your age... That's amazing" and he said "I'll be doing this shit till the wheels fall off this mother fucker" it was great, I ran to the van and grabbed my guitar and sat and watched the party and wrote the song!!
Lamitschka:  You did a duet with ___HANK 3____. How did that happen to come about?

BOB WAYNE:  I used to work for Hank 3 years ago and we became friends. He is someone I really look up to with his work ethic and diverse songwriting....his last album he played drums, mixed, recorded, sang, recorded all the other instruments, wrote the songs, sang the songs, and the list goes on hahahaha... He's crazy ... But anyways,,, we became friends and I asked him to sing a song with me on my record, so he came over and nailed it in about 15 minutes. I'm really happy with how it sounds. And it's definitely an honor to have him on my CD.
Lamitschka:  What do you think about today's music scene versus its post and where do you see it going in the future?

BOB WAYNE:  that's a tough one. Hmmmm, well, there's lots of music out there and a lot of different scenes, it seems like we kind of cross over into a weird blend of punk fans, old school country fans, and metal fans... And I think all three of those scenes will never die.
Lamitschka:  What has been your greatest challenge in music business?

BOB WAYNE: well, I'm pretty much a road dog. But it's hard to keep on the road without a booking agent and doing a lot of things yourself. But it seems that if you don't do things yourself you will be just stuck at home. So I've had to work really hard to book shows and find towns and fans that want to see us, in Europe we have a booking agent who has really helped us, but yeah, is say just trying to stay on the road and keep band members.
Lamitschka:  Many European fans travel to the United States to attend the several of the music festivals for the opportunity to see so many of their favorite artists, bands and celebrities. Will you be participating and how will the fans be able to find you?

BOB WAYNE:  Yes!!! Muddy roots in Tennessee is my favorite !!! It's a 3 day camp out and we are playing with my hero Red Simpson this year!!
Lamitschka:  When you're on tour, do you have time to play tourist?

BOB WAYNE:  unfortunately no.... It's haulin' ass, and I am the driver and also the tour manager so I'm very busy day to day.

Lamitschka:  What's the best compliment a fan has ever given you?

BOB WAYNE:  well, just when they tell me a certain song really hits home for them it means alot... That they can relate.... That's powerful.
Lamitschka:  Fans are always hungry for good road stories. Do you have one you can share with us (come on don’t be shy)?

BOB WAYNE:  let's see, well besides waking up to a hog pissing in the kitchen in Idaho, our bass player woke up from a black out with our guitar player's face tattooed on his leg hahaha! Many more stories to come hahahaha we post the good stuff on Facebook too throughout the tours so if you wanna follow along on our journey hit us up!
