Clara Henningsen Wedding

The Henningsens Celebrate Saturday’s Wedding of Lead Singer Clara Henningsen!

Clara Henningsen Weds Fiancé Jacob Calaway Just Five Days Before The Henningsens Hit the Road on Brad Paisley’s Beat This Summer Tour
Clara Henningsen, lead singer of Arista Nashville recording trio The Henningsens, is now a married woman, having wed fiancé Jacob Calaway this past Saturday, May 5, in a beautiful ceremony amid light rain on the Henningsen family farm in Illinois. broke the news this morning with a photo and feature online here:,,20697575,00.html.
The wedding comes amid a whirlwind time for the family band – which consists of Clara, her brother Aaron, and father Brian – who are currently inside the country airplay Top 20 with their debut single, “American Beautiful,” and preparing to spend the summer on tour with Brad Paisley’s Beat This Summer Tour presented by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store®, beginning May 9.
About her wedding day, Clara shared, “It was really cool because I got married on our family farm, in Illinois, and it’s such a special thing because, like the Miranda Lambert song says, that’s pretty much the house that built me and where I was raised and where I grew up. It’s really where I wanted to get married.
“Our wedding party was a total of 14 people – not including the bride and the groom,” Clara laughs, “and the little ring-bearers and the flower girls. All my sisters were in the wedding and Jacob’s brother and all my cousins and best friends I grew up with were also in the wedding. It was very special.”
Engaged since last September, the couple decided that a springtime wedding would be a beautiful way to celebrate before the band embarks on the Paisley tour, which continues through late August.
Co-written by Clara, Aaron, and Brian Henningsen and Brett Beavers, The Henningsens’ “American Beautiful” is now #18 and #19, respectively, on the Country Aircheck and Billboard country airplay charts, bringing a fresh, dynamic sound to the airwaves as the only new-artist debut single currently inside the Top 20.
Keep up with The Henningsens online at their Official Website, Facebook and on Twitter.

Lady Antebellum
Stream GOLDEN Exclusively on Today

Nashville, TN – May 6, 2013 – On the heels of their multi-week chart-topping lead single "Downtown," GRAMMY winning trio Lady Antebellum released “Goodbye Town” today as the second single off their fourth studio album GOLDEN - out tomorrow, May 7. The result of a session between Haywood, Kelley, Scott and Josh Kear, “Goodbye Town” was written backstage during the trio’s OWN THE NIGHT 2012 WORLD TOUR.
“Josh came out to see us on the road because that's where we did so much of the writing for this album,” said Kelley. “There’s just something about this song that I think people can relate to. It's that time after a breakup when everything about a place reminds you of that person, so all you want to do is just get the hell out of there. We really wanted the production to reflect that almost haunting feeling.”
Lady A kicks off GOLDEN release week tomorrow with performances slated for Good Morning America, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and two nights on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, as well as an exclusive and intimate release show at New York City's newest hot spot The McKittrick Hotel for the Lady Antebellum GOLDEN Release Show presented by Citi. Since its 2006 inception, Lady A has risen quickly to become Country Music’s most influential current group. The group has won the “Vocal Group of the Year” honor from both the CMA and from the ACM’s three times in a row, earned seven GRAMMY awards and sold 11 million albums worldwide. Nine of the band’s singles are certified Gold, with four surpassing the Platinum mark. For a full list of upcoming performances and for more info on new music, visit

With the news that Miranda Lambert scored her fifth # 1 single, reigning and 4 time ACM Female Vocalist of the Year Miranda Lambert quickly tweeted, "It never gets old knowing that people enjoy my music. Thanks for playing it, buying it and coming to see it live."
Miranda knew she wanted to record the song the moment she heard it. "The reason I love this song is because it's about how sometimes when you get your heart broken, you kinda go a little bit crazy," admitted the 3 time and current CMA Female Vocalist of the Year. "You drink too much, you smoke too much, you cut your hair ... you find a rebound. Sometimes your mama, if she's like my mama, has to slap you around and say, 'Straighten up, girl!'"
"Mama's Broken Heart" is the fourth single from her record setting "Four The Record" album which has already yielded the # 1 ACM Song and Single of the Year "Over You," as well as the hits "Fastest Girl In Town" and "Baggage Claim." Her Locked & Reloaded Tour with Dierks Bentley is in full swing through summer.
In addition to her Locked & Reloaded Tour, Miranda will be in Nashville for Music Fest in early June and will culminate with a performance at LP Field on Thursday night, June 9.

Bluegrass Music defines a genre of music as truthful as the words in RED in the Good Book. This is why country artist Clinton Gregory and his first “release” as a Bluegrass artist fits this music like and a hand and a glove.
Clinton, has lived life full circle; from records and albums on the chart with success in the early ’90s, (including one of my favorite songs “If It Weren’t For Country Music I’d Go Crazy”) to tours and sold out shows. Then his life went 180 degrees into a painful divorce, addiction and loss of his record deal. He was in a downward spiral and stayed there until an earth angel by the name of Hank Cochran entered the picture, along with a VERY long talk with Jesus, and his conversion back to his faith, and in 2005 he was back on track. Clinton hit it head on, performing, recording, touring and songwriting. Listen to track number twelve “Crucifixion.” The heaven-influenced lyrics and Clinton’s surreal delivery will make the goose bumps appear and make you stop in you tracks. Four minutes and 34 seconds of the pure truth.
When I meet Clinton in the early 1990’s, he hadn’t been in Nashville very long. He had just come from the Virginia Bluegrass Music scene. Proficient on fiddle and guitar since the age of 10, I am surprised it took 40 years for him to do a bluegrass to the bone album. I must remember; it’s God’s time not ours.
Clinton lights up the fiddle on “Katy Hill” and he brings his musical vision full force on some ‘Country to the Core’ favorites and puts his vocal and instrumental artistry on these tracks to bring them home. Tracks such as ”Looking For A Place To Fall Apart” written by Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and Freddy D. Powers. Then you have “I Never Go Around Mirrors,” “Little Cabin Home On The Hill” and “Somehow Tonight.”When you have Lefty Frizzell, Earl Scruggs, Bill Monroe and Lester Flatt co-penning these legendary songs, you’d better make sure, you nail them. Clinton definitely makes these heroes and legends of bluegrass proud!
* My wish is for this album is for it to be a serious contender in the IBMA’s nomination rounds. This musical journey is worthy of this noteworthy recognition.
Preshias Note: Roots Of My Raising was recorded with The Clinton Gregory Bluegrass Band, who will be touring in support of the album. Harold Roper is on banjo, Doug Flowers on mandolin, Scott Terry on bass and Gregory on guitar and fiddle.
This CD Review is dedicated to my other daddy Van McCombs. He took me to my first Bluegrass festival in Leitchfield, KY and I fell in love with the music. Two of the finalists were Jimmy Mattingly (Garth Brooks) and Mark O’ Connor Global Instrumentalist). J

Ticket and package information is available at 800-SEE-OPRY and
“Throughout the past five years, Carrie Underwood has become both a certified country music superstar and a beloved member of the Opry family,” said Pete Fisher, Grand Ole Opry vice president and general manager. “It’s been exciting to see Carrie experience career success after success, all the while returning often to the Opry stage to thrill audiences here.”
Underwood was inducted as an Opry member by fellow member Garth Brooks before a sold-out audience in May 2008.
Since winning American Idol and releasing her debut album in 2005, Underwood has sold over 15 million albums and placed 17 No. 1 singles on the charts. Her recent album, Blown Away, made history by debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart, making Underwood only the second country artist in the 47-year history of the chart to have each of their first four albums debut at No. 1. The now platinum-selling Blown Away album also debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, making Underwood only the second country artist in history to have three consecutive albums debut at No. 1. She is a six-time Grammy® winner, a two-time Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, and a three-time Country Music Association and ACM Female Vocalist winner.
Underwood is currently headlining and selling out arenas across North America on her “Blown Away Tour.” The tour, which launched last June, has played in the United States, Canada, the U.K., Ireland, and Australia.

Anita, Iowa....."The rain and snow sure has prevented us trying to get on the roof to find the leaks," Bob Everhart of the Oak Tree Opry in Anita, Iowa, says.  "We have found the leaks well enough inside the theater and the museum, so now we have to find them on the outside, and that's no easy task.  It just doesn't seem to warm up enough for us to be outdoors trying to do that kind of work.  We'll wait til the sun shines and then we'll get to work."
"We've also been very busy with shows at the theater," Bob's wife Sheila added.  "We just had Dale Eichor and Bobby Awe with us, and that was a full house.  Dale, as most folks in our area knows, is a very popular disc jockey on KWMT Radio in Fort Dodge, Iowa.  He still plays a whole bunch of traditional and classic country music as well as some really great country music from local performers and recording artists.   It really mystifies me that more radio stations don't do this, all performers have a following no matter how good or bad they are, and just as soon as Dale plays a song by a local, everybody and their brother, aunt, grandpa and grandma, talking about it.  That's why so many people listen to his radio show.  He's also a terrific country singer and bass player, and he has picked some really good songs to perform 'live' that matches his personality."
"I like Bobby Awe too," Bob added, "he's got a 'real' country voice that just won't quit.  He really pleased our audience at the Oak Tree, and he also has a brand new CD out called "Bobby Awe Keepin' It Country," and it really is. It's just like super-star country music from not so long ago before the music changed so drastically it's not even recognizable as country music anymore.  I believe that's why everyone here in our part of America appreciate artists like Dale and Bobby so much.  They still have the 'spirit' of real country music, the 'gift' some call it."
"Dont' forget our next show," Sheila piped up, "It's going to be a really nice change of pace with the award winning cowboy and western singer and songwriter, Pat Boilesen.  She's known as Nebraska's Daughter, and she has worked with some of the really big singers and recording artists in that genre of music, including Michael Martin Murphey, Red Steagall, even Baxter Black. She'll be at the Oak Tree on May 17th, along with one fantastic banjo player, John O'Brien who was in the very successful band 'Papio Creek' from Omaha.  All in all that sure looks like a great night."
"Well, dad has finally found some help with the budget lunch," Bobbie Lhea pronounced with some pride in her voice.  "I found out a few things in the Sunday paper that I shared with dad, and he immediately wanted to share it with you.  Now dad has an easier selection.  We've been doing budget lunches for quite awhile, but get this.  Taco Bell now has a "$1 Cravings" menu.  These items are only $1.  Shredded chicken mini quesadilla, and beefy nacho loaded griller, only $1.  Boy is dad happy, but that's not all...Steak 'N Shake is now offering 20 different meals for $4.  Dairy Queen has $5 lunches with desert, and Little Ceasars do large pizzas for $8.  And just last week I learned that White Castle (I really like those little hamburgers) are now only 25 cents each.  Wow is dad ever happy."
