LADY ANTEBELLUM SETS THE PACE

LADY ANTEBELLUM SETS THE PACE FOR UPCOMING
FOURTH ALBUM AS LEAD SINGLE "DOWNTOWN"
BECOMES FASTEST CHARTING NO. ONE
AND TALLIES OVER 500,000 DIGITAL DOWNLOADS

Nashville, TN – April 15, 2013 – Earning their fastest charting and seventh career No. one single this week, GRAMMY winning country trio Lady Antebellum’s “Downtown” takes the top position on both the Billboard and Mediabase charts while simultaneously selling more than 500,000 digital downloads. “Downtown” also spent the last two weeks at No. one in Canada and is the lead single off the group’s upcoming fourth studio album GOLDEN, available in stores May 7.

“Most of what the world has seen from Hillary from a radio single standpoint is this very sweet kind of style like ‘American Honey,’” said Lady A’s Charles Kelley. “But, she’s got a lot of sass and a lot of grit to her voice, too, so it’s been really fun to bring that out of her and have this kind of support from our fans and radio.”

“Downtown” hit big out of the gate, becoming the trio’s highest charting debut at Country radio. To watch a behind the scenes video from the making of the playful single, click here: http://smarturl.it/2eneqt

Fans can also tune in to The Voice on NBC at 8:00P ET tonight, tomorrow night and next Monday (4/22) when Lady A’s Hillary Scott joins Adam Levine as a guest mentor. Scott will help Levine prepare Team Adam contestants for the upcoming battle round.

Since its 2006 inception, Lady A had risen quickly to become Country Music’s most influential current group. The group won the “Vocal Group of the Year” honor from both the CMA and from the ACM’s three times in a row and sold 11 million albums worldwide. Nine of the band’s singles went Gold, with four surpassing the Platinum mark. “Need You Now” went on to sell over seven million downloads and claimed five of the trio’s seven career GRAMMY wins, including the all-genre “Record of the Year” and “Song of the Year.” For more information on new music and upcoming appearances, visit www.ladyantebellum.com.

THE BAND PERRY DEBUTS AT #1

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                                                      April 15, 2013

THE BAND PERRY DEBUTS AT #1 IN CANADA AND U.S. WITH SOPHOMORE ALBUM PIONEER

Toronto, ON - The Band Perry's sophomore album, PIONEER (Republic Nashville/Universal Music Canada), released on April 2, debuts at #1 this week on the Canadian Country Albums chart (SOCAN) and #1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. The lead single off the album, "Better Dig Two," is nearing Platinum status with over 74,000 units sold and is the sibling trio's first #1 on the Canadian Country charts (Mediabase and BDS), ranking in the top spot for two straight weeks. The video for the second single off PIONEER, "DONE." was released in tandem with the album on April 2 and is currently climbing the radio charts.

Known for their distinct harmonies, spirited melodies and intriguing lyrics, The Band Perry have shaken up country music since their self-titled debut in 2010, The Band Perry, which is closely reaching Platinum status in Canada and spawned the hit single "If I Die Young."

With the release of PIONEER, the group has already garnered critical acclaim with cover stories on Billboard and Country Weekly. The trio have recently appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, Good Morning America, Sirius XM, Nightline, ABC's Dancing With The Stars, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, as well as a celebrated performance of "DONE." on the Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast last Sunday night.

"PIONEER,produced by Dann Huff (Rascal Flatts's producer since 2006), enlarges the Band Perry's sound. Its self-titled 2010 debut album was country-rock with a string-band core; PIONEER is well aware of both 1970s West Coast rock and the arena-folk foot stompers of Mumford & Sons."
- New York Times

"TBP plays its own brand of savvy, state-of-the-art Nashville pop music."  - The Chicago Tribune

"...the group has made what will likely be one of the signal country albums of 2013."
      -Washington Post

The Band Perry is comprised of siblings Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry. In 2011 they were named ACM and CMA New Artist of the Year and were the recipients of the CMT Music Award for Breakthrough Video of the Year as well as the Best New Live Act. They also took home the CMA Single of the Year and Kimberly Perry was honored with Song of the Year, for penning "If I Die Young." The Band Perry has previously garnered GRAMMY, TEEN CHOICE, AMA, ACA and Billboard Music Award nominations.

Catch them live at Boots and Hearts Music Festival in Bowmanville, Ontario on August 3, 2013.

Kenny Chesney No Shoes Flotilla Anchors Off Lauderdale Coast

Kenny Chesney No Shoes Flotilla Anchors Off Lauderdale Coast

Tortuga Music Fest Sees Surprise Songs, Pirates Flags + Turtle Curfew Ft Lauderdale: With a sea turtle protection curfew of 9:30 on South Lauderdale Beach, Kenny Chesney rocked the Tortuga Music Festival like only he can. In addition to a packed house on-site, the public access was filled with thousands, people hung out of hotel and condo windows and over 60 boats anchored just off the coast for Chesney’s two hour set as the sun disappeared. “Looks like we’ve got us a navy,” Chesney said after the concert. “If you’re a No Shoes Nation, I guess you’ve got to have one! And man, were some of those boats pretty…” Sailboats, row boats, yachts and cigarette boats were all bobbing a few hundred feet from the shore throughout the evening with their party lights blinking. The Coast Guard had a few boats in the water as well to maintain proper distance and decorum, but even they seemed to enjoy the show. In addition to Hemingway’s Whiskey’s breezy “Goin’ Coastal,” Chesney broke out “Back Where I Come From” for the first time this tour. He brought out CMA Musician of the Year, Coral Reefer and top songwriter Mac McAnally to share versus on the song celebrating the simple pleasures of one’s hometown. Chesney explained he bought McNally’s album when it came out – and listened to the song driving all the way to Canada to see a girl. Greeted with such enthusiasm, Chesney decided to pull out “Must Be Something I Missed,” a song co-written with McAnally from his April 30 release Life on a Rock. With just an acoustic guitar, the Van Morrison-evoking song about perspective adjustment floated out over the crowd who fell silent to listen to the lyric. “It’s always hard to try out brand new music,” explained the man who has had 24 #1s and sold over 30 million albums. “Then you’re out on the beach, people are definitely in that vibe… But how often do I get to play with Mac? So when they were so receptive to the first song, I figured ‘Let’s go for it.’ I couldn’t believe how they really listened. It was great.” Chesney had guests Sammy Hagar, Grace Potter and Emeril LaGasse onstage with him at the Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama on Thursday night. . Beyond the #1 duet “You & Tequila,” the band joined Hagar for “Rock Candy,” “Finish What You Started” and “I Can’t Drive 55.” “That’s the point of all this stuff: music is about those moments you keep forever, about friends and having fun. If you want to talk about a perfect weekend, a perfect couple dates, it doesn’t get much better than playing as the moon comes up on Fort Lauderdale beach, or getting to sing with people like Grace, Mac and Sammy.” With the No Shoes Nation Tour in full swing, the deeply personal Life On A Rock arriving April 30 and the insurrectionist “Pirate Flag” flying high in the Top 10, Chesney brings another summer to life. Just look for his Jolly Roger flying somewhere near you

THE CARTER BROTHERS SHARE THE BILL WITH EMMYLOU HARRIS, RODNEY CROWELL AND OTHERS

THE CARTER BROTHERS SHARE THE BILL WITH EMMYLOU HARRIS, RODNEY CROWELL AND OTHERS FOR ANIMAL RESCUE EVENT, DANNY CARTER ADOPTS NEW PUPPY

Compass Records recording act the Carter Brothers did more than talk the talk when they took the stage April 13 in support of an animal rescue benefit, sponsored by Bonaparte's Retreat, the animal rescue organization founded the Emmylou Harris, and Crossroads Pets. After performing at the free concert, Danny Carter promptly left the stage to complete the adoption paperwork to take home Vivien, a 4-month-old Chow/Border Collie mix.

"She really picked me," says Danny Carter of how he and Vivien met. "My friend Maura O'Connell brought her over to me, and Vivien jumped up, bit me on the ear, then started licking my face. It was magic!"

Vivien was one of scores of animals available for adoption at the Nashville stop of the North Shore Animal League America's 2013 Tour for Life, the world's largest mobile pet adoption event. The Music City event, which featured music and sponsor booths, was held at Crossroads Pets, 707 Monroe Street in Germantown.

In addition to the Carter Brothers, Harris, Rodney Crowell, O'Connell, Treble Hook Trio (Mike Bub, Hanz Holzen, Barbara Lamb) and Chris Henry's bluegrass band performed at the event.

Vivien's adoption comes approximately one year after the death of Danny Carter's beloved golden retriever, Samantha. Carter had been contemplating getting a new dog for several weeks, but had not planned to adopt one when he and his brother, Tim, agreed to perform at the benefit.

"The unexpected, really good feeling I'm enjoying from adopting was something I didn't even consider," Danny Carter says. "I was feeling the need to fill that emptiness that had been left by Sam's passing. Well, that void is filled and I'm giving a really beautiful, sweet little puppy a very loving permanent home for the rest of her life."

The Carter Brothers leave today for a seven-night run at Hog's Breath Saloon in Key West, Fla., so Vivien will stay with her foster mother, Emmylou Harris, until the Carters return.

"I can't wait to get Vivien home with me. I'm sure we'll become the best of friends and joined at the hip as much as Sam and I were."

In partnership with Purina One, the 2013 Tour for Life will stop in 51 cities in 26 states and Washington, D.C., to promote pet rescue nationwide. The 2012 Tour for Life found homes for more than 1,500 animals throughout the U.S. For more information, visit animalleague.org/how_we_help/tour_for_life/.

About The Carter Brothers:
"Tim and Dan are blood related to A.P., Sarah and Maybelle Carter but they don't make a big deal out of it. Like their mama, who taught them to rinse collard greens in the Maytag, (the Carter Brothers) make their old-timey music with tried and true ingredients and modern appliances," says esteemed mandolinist and vocalist Tim O'Brien, friend to Tim and Danny Carter.

Coupling exemplary musicianship with the kind of tight harmony only siblings can claim, the Carter Brothers have been performing around the country... and the world... to adoring fans for more than two decades. Natives of High Point, N.C., Tim and Danny Carter moved to Nashville 15 years ago, quickly earning respect that crossed musical genres. After years of producing and releasing their music themselves, the brothers signed a recording contract in 2011 with Compass Records.

The Road To Roosky, the Carter Brothers' first Compass Records CD, was released in 2012, garnering accolades and praise from around the world for its melding of bluegrass and blues.

"I've been playing with my brother for so long and he's such a blues guitar player that all of that rubbed off on my playing through the years. I wanted to make sure that the banjo on this was not so much about playing Earl Scruggs style banjo but that (the banjo) fit these tunes," says Tim Carter of his playing on The Road To Roosky.

The act's next CD, Where the Green Grass Meets The Bluegrass, is due out in 2013 on Compass Records. The project features the Carter Brothers and Barney McKenna, renowned Irish banjo player of the The Dubliners in McKenna's final recordings before his death in 2012.

ON THE ROAD WITH THE EVERHARTS APRIL 14. 2013

ON THE ROAD WITH THE EVERHARTS
"Being a 'normal' Iowan, we've come to expect the weather to be changeable in our home state."  Bob Everhart, resident of Anita, Iowa, half the year, and the other half of the year he and his wife Sheila, and daughter Bobbie Lhea, travel the country in their RV looking for work as performing artists for the Smithsonian Institution.  "Last year when we came back from California," Bob said, "the temperature was 84.  This year when we came back from Florida it was 24.  I think we'll keep going to California."
"April is also income tax time," Sheila added, "and that puts Bob in a snit because he thinks taxes are too high.  Anyway, he likes to use H&R Block because they have a specialist who deals with non-profit associations.  Which means we have to make out two sets of taxes, three if we pay Iowa taxes.  I suppose that would cause anyone to have a snit.  We went to Council Bluffs for the tax session, and while Bob was in that office for three hours, me and Bobbie Lhea went shopping.  I shouldn't say that when it's tax time, we just went looking around."
"We got it all under control," Bob added, "and it's not easy.  What in the world does the government do with all that money they collect from us?  It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't also have to pay a high fee just to get the taxes done. We're well on the way of getting some help fixing the roof on the Pioneer Music Museum, so I needn't complain."
"We're definitely looking forward to a great SpringFest at the Oak Tree Opry," Bobbie Lhea said.  "There are so many really good performers coming to be with us April 19-20-21.  Jackie Shewey was one of them, but she has been in the hospital waiting for a liver transplant, so she might not make it, but she is on schedule to do a special show on July 5th.  We also hope Francis Hahn will do his 'patriotic' show that day too.  We had an interesting 'budget lunch' and dad is always working on ways to make that happen.  When we went to Council Bluffs to do the taxes, we decided to go to the Olive Garden for lunch knowing we wouldn't get three meals for $20, but darned if they didn't have a new special.  If you bought one of their 'specials' for $12, you could get another one free to take home with you.  Sure, dad ordered his that way, left some for the 'take-home' bag, and then had another whole meal the same, so that was our budget lunch, and darned if it wasn't enough for all three of us.  I guess it works, but we ate at 7pm.  Dad says it doesn't matter, he paid for it at lunch time.  See you at the Oak Tree April 19-20-21."
