Pistol Annies Reveal Annie Up Album Cover & Track Listing

Pistol Annies Reveal Annie Up Album Cover & Track Listing

NASHVILLE, TN – With their sophomore album Annie Up closing in on its May 7 release, the Pistol Annies are excited to reveal the album cover and song titles. Through the social video app Vine, fans can see a video cover reveal at www.pistolannies.com.
Annie Up features 12 songs written by the Pistol Annies that deal with the unwashed experiences of real life. The first single “Hush Hush” talks about sweeping family secrets under the rug to maintain appearances, while “I Feel A Sin Comin On” is a blusy ode to temptation. “Unhappily Married” is a brash look inside the daily grind of a couple resigned to stay together.
The confessional “Being Pretty Ain’t Pretty” dishes on the exhausting process women go through to get dressed every day. The idea for the song was inspired by a Tweet that Ashley sent that she had just bought a ton of make-up and make-up wipes to take it all off. “Women are warriors and we go into battle everyday with the stuff we wear, said Angaleena. “You spend all this money for make-up and eyelashes and spray tanners just to wipe it all off at the end of the night,” added Miranda.
With the release of the May 7 album, fans of vinyl music will also be able to Annie Up anywhere vinyl is sold including here, http://smarturl.it/AnnieUpVinyl.

One strength of Country Music is its ability to mirror real life. Rarer is the artist whose stories come to us not washed in neon but raised from a deeper, dreamier place.
Kacey Musgraves is one such anomaly. Born in Mineola, Texas, she made her performing debut at 8. A year later, she wrote her first song. She appeared on “Nashville Star” in 2007 and moved to Nashville shortly after that, just 20 years old.
As a writer, she’s made a good start, placing songs with Miranda Lambert (“Mama’s Broken Heart”) and Martina McBride (“When You Love a Sinner”). A co-write with Trent Dabbs, “Undermine,” played on the second episode of ABC’s “Nashville.”
With her March 19 debut on Mercury Nashville, produced by Musgraves, Shane McAnally and Luke Laird, she’s about to make her own big impact — in a distinctively quiet way. Musgraves doesn’t crank up the volume. Her grooves move gently, more like the trickle of a brook than a wide river’s roar. Banjo adds to the Country flavor of her work, but it’s played sparely, more about atmosphere than momentum. She frames it with an electric guitar’s faraway weep and floats wispy electronic clouds above this pastoral soundscape.
That’s only the beginning. Her writing style is fully formed, with each track either a solo or co-written piece. On her first single, “Merry Go ‘Round” (Musgraves, McAnally and Josh Osborne), she spins her tale of family dysfunction with equal parts irony and insight, weary wisdom and sad humor. She won a standing ovation when she introduced it at CRS 2012 — the first, surely, of many to come.
“There are so many: Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Buddy Miller – and also James Mercer of the Shins. I love his voice.”
“‘It Is What It Is’ and ‘Dude.’”
“People who try to sound way more Country than they are.”
“Rashida Jones.”
“Steve Earle’s I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive.”
“My favorite old, turquoise cowboy boots, my 1957 Gibson J-45 (Janice) and the complete discography of John Prine.”
“I wish I was a Bollywood star.”

Nashville, Tenn. (March 19, 2013) - Today, GAC's Daily Countdown with Suzanne Alexander will exclusively debut "All in the Same Boat," the hilarious new music video featuring country music legends Aaron Tippin, Joe Diffie and Sammy Kershaw.  The show airs nationally today at 12:00 PM ET and will re-air tonight at 6:00 PM ET.

The video is somewhat of a teaser for what's to come later this summer when the three country legends release an untitled full-length collaborative album.  The official release date will be announced in coming weeks.

On the direction of the video, Tippin says, "of course all of us men like to think we're in charge at our house but this video shows who's really the boss."

Diffie notes, "It was such a blast making the video with Sam, Aaron and the girls. The whole day was easy and lighthearted and we all really enjoyed it.

"Even though the weather changed on us to cold and rainy, we sure had a great time doing this video together," says Kershaw.  "We had to do a lot of improvising but Joe and Aaron were great sports."

Tippin, Diffie and Kershaw recently embarked on the 2013 Roots & Boots tour.  The national tour features acoustic performances with all three legends on-stage, together, performing their respective hits.

Tippin's fame was launched with the release of his uncompromising single "You've Got to Stand For Something." He followed that with other major hits including "Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly," "There Ain't Nothing Wrong with the Radio" and "Kiss This."

Since he first topped the charts in 1990 with "Home," Diffie has delivered twelve #1 hits, twenty top 10's and four gold and platinum albums.

Kershaw's platinum-selling albums have had hits such as "She Don't Know She's Beautiful," "Cadillac Style," "Queen of My Double Wide Trailer" and "Third Rate Romance."

Reba: All the Women I Am to Open August 9, 2013
NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 19, 2013 – Powerful, emotive recording artist.  Dynamic, charismatic live performer.  Acclaimed Broadway star.  Successful film and television actress.  With an unparalleled resumé that spans more than four decades and several entertainment genres, Reba is country music’s ultimate Renaissance woman.  The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will pay tribute to this inimitable artist with the cameo exhibition Reba:  All the Women I Am, which opens in the museum’s East Gallery on August 9, 2013, and runs through June 8, 2014.
“Reba is the most successful female country performer of her generation, and a major influence on many of the female recording artists who have followed her,” said Museum Director Kyle Young.  “Her achievements and accolades are almost too numerous to mention:  She has sold more than 40 million records, charted nearly 60 Top Ten singles and 24 #1 hits, and been honored with nearly 50 major awards, including two Grammy awards, the Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year award and the Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year award; she is also one of only four entertainers in history to receive the National Artistic Achievement Award from the U.S. Congress.  And, of course, she was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2011.
“It’s impossible to overstate Reba’s impact on country music, and her contributions go well beyond recording,” Young continued.  “She heightened production values for country concerts, adding elaborate stages, video screens and multiple costume changes.  Such innovations are now de rigueur on the tours of top country artists.  Furthermore, through her work on Broadway, in film, and as the star of two television comedies, Reba has helped to heighten and expand the profile of country music, lifting all boats in her magnificent wake.  We are looking forward to telling the rich, inspiring and always entertaining story of one of country music’s brightest lights.”
Reba Nell McEntire was born in McAlester, Oklahoma. on March 28, 1955, and grew up in Chockie, Oklahoma, on a cattle ranch, traveling regularly to rodeos with her father, champion calf roper Clark McEntire.  Influenced by their mother, Jackie, who was a talented singer, Reba and her siblings Pake and Susie began performing as the Singing McEntires while in high school.
In 1974, Reba sang the national anthem at the National Rodeo Finals in Oklahoma City; cowboy singer Red Steagall heard her and financed a recording session, which led to her signing with Mercury Records in 1975.  Reba began releasing singles in 1976, and two years later she scored her first Top 20 hit with “Three Sheets in the Wind,” a duet with Jacky Ward.  In 1980, she notched her first Top 10 single, “(You Lift Me) Up to Heaven,” and garnered her first #1s in 1982–83 with “Can’t Even Get the Blues” and “You’re the First Time I’ve Thought About Leaving.”
After a move to MCA Records in 1983, Reba took more control of her career and material and, over the next decade, produced a slew of now-classic country hits including “How Blue,” “Somebody Should Leave,” “Whoever’s in New England,” “The Last One to Know” and many more. A series of groundbreaking headliner tours to support her hits consolidated Reba’s status as a music superstar.  During this time, music videos became an important vehicle for reaching fans; Reba’s clip for “Whoever’s in New England” sparked an interest in acting, and in 1990 she appeared in her first film, Tremors.  She went on to appear in 10 more films, to date.
In March 1991, Reba suffered a personal tragedy when seven members of her band, her road manager, and the pilot and co-pilot of a chartered private jet were killed in a plane crash.  Reba took an extended break from touring and recorded the album For My Broken Heart.  The record, which contained a handful of hits, including the title song, “Is There Life Out There” and “The Greatest Man I Never Knew,” became one of her best sellers.
Throughout the 1990s, Reba continued her chart success:  Her many hits during the decade include “The Heart Won’t Lie” (with Vince Gill), “Does He Love You” (with Linda Davis) and “The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter.”
In January 2001, Reba stepped into the title role of the Broadway musical Annie Get Your Gun.  Her bravura portrayal garnered universal critical acclaim, with the New York Times hailing the performance as “without qualification the best performance by an actress in a musical comedy this season.”  Fans of musical theater agreed, as the show was sold out through most of Reba’s five-month run.
From 2001 to 2007, Reba starred in her own hit comedy series, Reba.  When the show ended, she refocused her efforts on touring and recording; in 2008, she left MCA Records and signed with Valory Music Group, a subsidiary of Big Machine Records.  Her first album for the label, Keep on Loving You, was released in August 2009; it debuted at #1 on both the Billboard country chart and the all-genre Billboard 200 album chart and featured the #1 single “Consider Me Gone.”
A savvy businesswoman, in 1988 Reba founded Starstruck Entertainment, a multi-dimensional corporation encompassing booking, management, music publishing, a recording studio and transportation services.  In 1989, she married her manager, Narvel Blackstock; he continues to oversee Starstruck’s many enterprises.
Although Reba was awarded country music’s highest honor in 2011 with her election to the Country Music Hall of Fame, her career shows no signs of slowing down:  She is currently starring in the ABC comedy Malibu Country; her most recent album, All the Women I Am, spawned the #1 hit “Turn on the Radio.”
Reba:  All the Women I Am will be accompanied by an ongoing series of programs throughout the exhibit’s duration.
Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum is operated by the Country Music Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization chartered by the state of Tennessee in 1964. The museum’s mission is the preservation of the history of country and related vernacular music rooted in southern culture.  With the same educational mission, the foundation also operates CMF Records, the museum’s Frist Library and Archive, CMF Press, Historic RCA Studio B and Hatch Show Print®.

Jordan current single, Toxic, has a great infectious sound and venomous lyrics. Herbstfest in der Kalvarienberggasse ...

Herbstfest in der Kalvarienberggasse ...
DSCF0619_Cajun Red Stars ff.jpg

Da kamen wohl leider viele Dinge zusammen – so was nennt man großes Pech.
