Additional performance added to Monday, April 22;Tickets to go on sale Monday, March 18

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Friday, March 15, 2013) – Syco/RCA Nashville recording artist and The X Factor “Season 2” Winner, Tate Stevens, hoped the excitement he feels when in his hometown of Belton, Missouri would translate into a great album release celebration when he announced his first show on Sunday, April 21 at The Midland by ACM in Kansas City, Mo. However, he was stunned to hear that within just 30 minutes, all 3,000 seats were sold out.

“1st show sold out!! Still can’t believe it. Second show on sale Monday at 10am. Can’t freakin believe it. Thank you #tatenation KC Rocks!!!!!” Stevens tweeted following the news of the 30-minute sell-out.

Fans sent their congratulations to the star on Twitter, including @rcaponetto who lamented, “Didn’t get tix on time!” which led Stevens to announce a second performance for the following day, Monday, April 22 at The Midland by ACM. Tickets go on sale Monday, March 18 at 10 a.m. CT at the Midland box office or by visiting www.midlandkc.com. All ticketholders for both shows will receive a copy of Steven’s self-titled major-label debut album, slated for release on Tuesday, April 23 featuring his current single, “Power Of A Love Song.”

Stevens will make a series of appearances around the album release before joining Alan Jackson on several tour dates.  For more information, visit www.tatestevensofficial.com or follow Stevens on Twitter @tatestevensctry.

JACK GREENE HAS PASSED AWAY AT 83

JACK GREENE HAS PASSED AWAY AT 83
COUNTRY MUSIC DEEPLY SADDENED

(Nashville, TN-3.15.13)  Country Music has lost one of the legendary greats of all time.  Grand Ole Opry Star, Jack Greene passed away yesterday at approximately 6PM-CST at the age of  83 due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.

Saying that we will miss Jack Greene will never cover the hurt of his passing, but in our hearts we know that he no longer will have any pain, as he will walk the Golden Streets of Heaven with His Creator, who has called him home.

The Jolly Green Giant as most of us know him in the country music industry, had been battling health issues for some time.  It is most difficult at this sad time to put into words eloquently enough the life and career of Jack Greene’s.  He has given so much to our music industry and to the millions of country music fans all over the world.  What he has meant to country music, is almost impossible to say what is in our hearts at this time.  Jack is one of the kindest human beings that I have ever known in my life.

Jack was born a superstar and that will be his legacy forever.  Surely his crowning glory will be when he enters the Hall of Fame rotunda as a member. I was honored to be at Jack’s 83rd birthday party and I had the opportunity to hear him sing one last time, although I have all of his music for my memories.  Then I went to see Jack this past Tuesday and I am so glad that LeeAnn called and asked me to stop by and see my friend.  As usual when I got ready to leave I told Jack that I loved him, and he said “Love you too Brother.”  Little did I realize that this would be the last words that I would speak to him and I was really saying goodbye to a dear friend.  I know that he is in the peaceful arms of our Blessed Savior as his earthly chores have been completed.
I am sure that Jack will be spending time with his mentor Ernest Tubb and we all know that E.T. no doubt will make sure that Jack is in the heavenly band.

Over 40 years of thrilling millions of fans worldwide during his career, and being in the country music history books forever by reaching his pinnacle of success in 1967.  Jack won every major award from the CMA that year including Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Song of the Year for “There Goes My Everything.”  I do not think any artist in my lifetime will ever climb the mountain of success that belongs to Jack Greene only. He conquered the tallest mountain in country music, that could only be reached by this Giant of a Man.

I hope that he looks down on us and knows that his spirit is within us, his music will live with us, and the memories that he has left will always be with us. He was a gentle man of conviction, love for his fellow man, love of his music and the Grand Ole Opry Family, and the love of his Father in Heaven.

I will miss you Jack, but I thank you for being my friend, a real true friend.  You are a priceless treasure to all that know you, and you have given so much to so many-now Rest in Peace.  You will be missed by all of us who have been privileged to call you friend, and have no fears, you have left a platinum legacy for us to follow.  “I Love You Brother.”

Steel Guitar News March 16. 2013

This is Bob Hempker. We’ve been busy sprucing up the store making it cozy for all you folks when you come to visit. We look forward to seeing friends both old and new. After all, this is the steel guitar toy store and we want you to enjoy yourself when you drop by. An old friend stopped in today that I hadn’t seen in years. John Brown, about as generic a name as you can get. John and I worked together with Loretta for years. Some of you may remember John with Nat Stuckey or Donna Fargo. John also worked the Country Tonite Show up in Branson. It was great seeing him. We had a wonderful visit. John is one of the best drummers I’ve ever worked with. He’s a metronome as far as timing and he can lay down a groove with the best of them. Billy Poe was in the other day and got his guitar repaired. I’ve known Billy since I got to town in 1969 and he is a dear friend. Vic Lawson did some work on his Emmons for him. Mike Johnson was in recently and had some work done to his Emmons guitar. Mike Daly and Doug Jernigan come in here all the time. These are all world class players. Mike Johnson is one of the most in-demand studio musicians in Nashville. Mike Daly plays for Hank Jr. and Travis Tritt and Doug Jernigan needs no introduction. I’m often asked about my equipment, what I own, use, recommend and don’t recommend. I recommend buying the best equipment you can afford because you’ve got to live and work with that equipment long after you’ve paid for it. If making money depends on your equipment, that’s even more reason to buy the best you can afford. None of us can afford shoddy equipment that can cost us work. Be sure to consider this whenever you buy something. Cutting corners can mean selling yourself short. I’m amazed at how good the Nashville 112 performs. For decades, the thought of taking a small amp with one 12” speaker and 80 watts of power to do a show was just unheard of. I have had an assortment of amps through the years with 15” speakers, 300, 400, 500 and even 1000 watts. I’ve had different configurations of preamps, power amps, speaker cabinets and the like. I’ve spent thousands of dollars. But this little Nashville 112 gets the job done. And it doesn’t take a gorilla with a crane to lift it. From the best I can tell, the amp is very durable. I’ve dropped mine pretty hard a couple of times and it didn’t hurt it. Peavey certainly has the reputation for reliability. I’ve used it setting on the floor, off the floor and it seems to work in any situation as long as it’s placed somewhere I can hear it. It has a headphone jack in the back, an effects loop and all the things you’d expect in a modern day amp. I know most of you already have one and some of you have two, but just in case you’re sitting on the fence thinking about a new amp, come in, sit down and give it a play or give us a call and let’s talk. It’s an unbeatable amp and you won’t beat our price anywhere. I’d also like to mention that we get new and different equipment in daily so please check our website if you’re looking for anything. At the moment we have an especially good selection of used equipment that works just like new and you can save some good money. We have a mix and match sale for Saint Patrick’s Day.
