HIGH VALLEY TO PERFORM AT BBVA COMPASS STREET FEST

HIGH VALLEY TO PERFORM AT BBVA COMPASS STREET FEST
AND PEP RALLY JANUARY 4 IN BIRMINGHAM, AL

Nashville, TN...(January 1, 2013)... Just after ringing in the New Year, country trio High Valley will head south to Birmingham, Alabama on January 4th to perform at the BBVA Compass Street Fest and Pep Rally before the Ole Miss Rebels take on the Pittsburgh Panthers at the BBVA Compass Bowl. Click HERE for more information about the BBVA Compass Bowl and ESPN sponsored Street Fest.

High Valley recently debuted the video for their new single “Love You For A Long Time” on CMT and ET Online. Brothers Brad, Bryan and Curtis plan to spend 2013 touring and gearing up for the release of their US debut album, Love Is A Long Road, due out later this year.

ABOUT HIGH VALLEY: Brothers Brad (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Bryan (harmony vocals, bass guitar) and Curtis (harmony vocals, mandolin), all in their twenties, make up High Valley. The sibling trio found inspiration in the music of country music icons Alabama, Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town, Diamond Rio and Shenandoah while growing up listening to their older sisters’ records. After sixteen years of touring and opening for the likes of superstars Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and Reba McEntire in their northern homeland, High Valley is preparing to make their U.S. debut.  With three Top 10 singles and a recent Artist of the Year win at the Canadian Covenant Awards to their credit, High Valley will release its first U.S. album in early 2013 through Eaglemont Entertainment as their single “Love You For A Long Time” climbs the country radio charts. For more information, please visit www.highvalleymusic.com, like them on facebook, or follow them on twitter @HighValley.

Jason Aldean to Perform at People’s Choice Awards

Jason Aldean is scheduled to perform live at the People’s Choice Awards 2013, from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, on Wednesday, Jan. 9 (9 p.m.), on the CBS Television Network.
Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys were also announced as performers.
In addition to performing one of his hit songs, Jason will also be waiting to find out if he wins any awards. The “Take a Back Road” singer has been nominated for Favorite Country Artist and Favorite Male Artist.

Taylor Swift’s Intruder will Not Face Charges

Taylor Swift’s knife-wielding intruder will not face any charges mainly in part because Taylor didn’t have a “No Trespassing” sign posted at her home.
Attorney Sean McKinney has stated that Tennessee prosecutors decided not to press charges against his client, Jacob Kulke. McKinney says he spoke with Swift’s representatives on Thursday morning and all parties thought it was best not to press forward with the case.
McKinney added that there are a number of reasons as to why he was able to get the charges dropped. First, Swift did not have a “No Trespassing” signs posted. Also, Kulke was under the impression he was allowed to go onto the property after allegedly being told by the guards at the house that he could do so.
The 24-year-old man was arrested earlier this month after attempting to break into Taylor’s Nashville, Tenn., home. (Swift was not at her residence at the time.) Prosecutors do have a full year to decide if they want to reopen the case if new evidence or information arises.

Emmylour Harris Investigated for Hit-and-Run

According to TMZ, the legendary Emmylou Harris could be in a bit of trouble. The Los Angeles DA is contemplating charges against the singer for hit and run. The alleged accident occurred on October 1st when Emmylou’s rental car grazed another on the 405 but didn’t stop to exchange information.

Emmylou’s rep says, “minor traffic accident,” adding “she unintentionally rubbed bumpers with another vehicle.” The rep says Emmylou didn’t realize the cars made contact so she took off. The rep calls it a “garden-variety accident that happens everyday on the 405,” and Emmylou has turned the matter over to her insurance company.

Oak Ridge Boys Call & Serenade President George H.W. Bush

While former President George H.W. Bush is recovering, The Oak Ridge Boys decided to spread some happy recovery vibes and serenade the former president over the phone.
Words cannot properly express how much The Oaks’ special performance meant to the President and the Bush family. This friendship goes back many years, and what happened yesterday gave the President a real shot in the arm as he, thankfully, continues to improve. The Bushes continue to feel so blessed to have so many friends like The Oaks, and wish to thank one and all for their prayers and good wishes.” – Office of George H. W. Bush
“Yesterday morning, The Oak Ridge Boys received the daily report from President Bush (41’s) staff. The report of his health was that he was improving each day. Then, we received another message, Barbara Bush requested that we call the President and sing to him! All of the Oak Ridge Boys are on vacation, but we all headed to our office upon hearing of this request. We called the President and sang for him. He asked to hear Elvira, so we sang that for him, and then we sang one verse of Amazing Grace.” – Duane Allen, The Oak Ridge Boys

Alabama Setting Sail on the High Seas

Alabama is celebrating their 40 year anniversary on the high seas. The group has invited fans to join them next October on a vacation filled with music and fun. Specific details haven’t been released yet.

To our Alabama family,
As this year comes to a close, we look back on all the memories with you and feel humbled and blessed to still be doing what we love as a band. Next year will mark the 40th anniversary of our first show at the Bowery in Myrtle Beach, and we feel like the best way to celebrate is to invite all of you, our most dedicated, supportive, and passionate fans to join us on a cruise!

Country Music Says Goodbye To Several Stars In 2012

Giants took their final bow this year -- Country Music Hall of Fame members Kitty Wells, Earl Scruggs and Frances Preston and superstars such as Andy Griffith, Whitney Houston, Levon Helm and that consummate aggregator of musical talent, Dick Clark.
It was also the year that said adieu to the creators of such classic songs as "Sea of Heartbreak," "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden," "Statue of a Fool" and "Islands in the Stream."
Here is a list of the music world's common losses for 2012:
Willie Ackerman, 73, studio and road drummer and former Hee Haw and Grand Ole Opry band member, Dec. 13, in Nashville.
Rick Blackburn, 70, former head of the country divisions of Columbia/Epic and Atlantic Records, Nov. 30, in Franklin, Tenn.
Larry Butler, 69, songwriter, musician and producer of many of Kenny Rogers' hits, Jan. 20, in Pensacola, Fla.

ON THE ROAD WITH THE EVERHARTS JANUARY 2. 2013

ON THE ROAD WITH THE EVERHARTS

"On the road again...."  Bob & Sheila and their daughter Bobbie Lhea, are on the road in Florida.  "We have managed to get the RV parks we perform at to also provide several nights camping," Bob was quick to point out, "and sometimes we can negotiate a week or more.  We stayed at the Glades for a week, which is where we spent Christmas.  Christmas Eve, Sheila prepared a nice repast.  She tries to put together a "Jesus" meal.  Sometimes it's lamb, lots of cheese like Feta, hummuss of course, cous cous, pita bread, and it's a very nice occasion for us.  We exchange gifts on Christmas Day, and again Sheila prepares a really nice meal.  This year it was pork loins wrapped around sausage, the whole thing wrapped in bacon and roasted.  We even had some roasted chestnuts.  Very very good.  The Glades is pretty isolated, and very on again off again WiFi signal, so we're glad to be back 'on the road again.'  We stopped at Camping World to get our electric plug fixed. Sheila says it's too frayed to keep trying to use it as is, so off we went to Camping World.  Twenty minutes and $92 dollars later, we had a new plug on the end of our electric cable.  Whew.  I'm going to take up electric as my new occupation."
We're getting ready for New Years, but we've had a couple of very interesting shows in the meantime.  A very nice guy, who used to be a booking agent in Nashville, called and offered us a couple of gigs.  Not a whole bunch of money, but enough to make it very worthwhile, because the benefits were so interesting.  First one was at the Cafe' Evergreen.  I really like the way this guy promoted the show.  This particular cafe' hosts 'world class dinner shows' about once a month.  Last month Eddie & Martha Adcock were on it; next month is Newton & Thomas; and the month after that a very popular and successful Swedish pop star Sofia Talvik.  There are two shows, 6:30pm and 8pm, and in our case they were both sold out.  The cafe' is located at Warm Mineral Springs, the supposed fountain of youth that Ponce de Leon discovered.  It costs $20 to get into the springs, but no additional charge at the cafe' except what you eat, and their food was absolutely delightful.  Anyway, both of our shows were sold out, and we were so surprised at who attended.  Just before we finished the second show (a totally different audience) I decided to talk to some of the audience.  In attendance was two couples from Poland (no they didn't know each other); lots of folks from various parts of Eastern USA; one lady worked for NBC television all her life, and lo and behold, there sitting in the front row was Bobby Yates.  He lives in Punta Gorda just a stones throw away.  He was inducted into America's Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame last year.  What a surprise.  One of the benefits was that we got to dine at the cafe' during intermission.  We all had steaks, at the urging of the chef.  The Chef and his beautiful wife Annette, who own the cafe' are from Cologne, Germany.  One of the items on the menu was beet borsk.  There are a lot of Russians living in this area.  We tried the borsk and found it very very good.  We had a super time, sold a lot of CD's, got paid well, and really enjoyed the upscale atmosphere of this very European cafe'.
"Dad found a most neat place for a budget lunch," Bobbie Lhea piped up.  He took us to the "Elephant Bar" which is a restaurant in a huge shopping center in Fort Myers.  He had rules though.  We could only order 'appetizers.'  And it worked really really well.  Dad had french onion soup and coconut shrimp.  Mom had a wood-fired cheeseburger, and I had some french onion soup and a side order of calamari.  Yum yum, it was delicious, and we just barely got three meals for $20.  We had to drink ice water with lemon though, but that was just fine by me."
"We just got a call back from Frog Creek," Sheila added.  "They want us to come back there and do an old-time Gospel show.  We will enjoy that.  Pay is good, and the location is stunning.  We get to park right next to Frog Creek, watch the little lizards running all over the place, and totally enjoy the sunny days and cool nights of Florida."

ARTY HILL’S SONGS HAVE THE SOUL OF CLASSIC COUNTRY WITH GREAT STORYTELLING ABILITIES. THIS LATEST RELEASE OF ARTY’S IS MUCH MORE THAN A HONKY TONK ALBUM.

THIS ALBUM,ALMOST DIDNT GET OUT OF THE GATE. ONE BAND MEMBER STARTED UNDERGOING TREATMENT FOR A BLOOD DISEASE, ANOTHER WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED BY A HIT AND RUN. BUT IT DID GET FINISHED BUT NOT BEFORE HIS LONG TIME LABEL, COW ISLAND MUSIC PASSED ON THE ALBUM. SO HE SELF RELEASED THIS ALBUM.
THIS ALBUM CONTAINES SONGS OF ICU’S,HALFWAY HOUSES, 12 PACK MORNINGS CHEATING NEIGHBORS AND THE STUFF THAT MAKES FOR COUNTRY MUSIC. I THINK ALL THESE SONGS ARE PRETTY CATCHY IN THEIR OWN RIGHT SOME MORE THAN OTHERS.

HE MIXES THIS ALBUM, WITH SOME WESTERN SWING, SOME HONKY TONKING, SOME ROCKABILLY AND EVEN SOME RUMBA.
CHECK OUT ARTY HILL EITHER ON CDBABY, FACEBOOK OR AMAZON. YOU CAN EVEN CATCH HIM ON YOUTUBE.
