CRAIG CAMPBELL CELEBRATES OUTTA MY HEAD EP RELEASE WITH PARTY AND CONCERT

CRAIG CAMPBELL CELEBRATES OUTTA MY HEAD
EP RELEASE WITH PARTY AND CONCERT

Nashville, TN…(December 5, 2012)… Last night, Craig Campbell celebrated the release of his new 5-song EP Outta My Head with a party and concert from Nashville’s 12th & Porter while surrounded by family, friends, fans, and music industry peers. During his full band show, Campbell debuted music from the recently released EP as well as hits including “Family Man” and “Fish.” Bigger Picture President Michael Powers surprised Craig onstage with a plaque commemorating four consecutive charted hits with over 1 billion radio airplay audience impressions and more than half a million downloads.

ABOUT CRAIG CAMPBELL: After moving from his hometown of Lyons, Georgia to Nashville in 2002 to pursue his country music dreams, American Country Awards nominee Craig Campbell quickly picked up work as a keyboardist in Luke Bryan and Tracy Byrd’s bands and was later discovered playing a regular gig at legendary Nashville honky-tonk, The Stage. The singer-songwriter has earned well-deserved praise from the country’s toughest critics for his self-titled debut album, which released in April of 2011. Campbell’s autobiographical lead single, “Family Man” was a top 15 hit followed by “Fish” which has sold a quarter of a million downloads. His current smash “Outta My Head” is the title track to his recently released 5-song EP and the lead single from his sophomore album, set to release on the Bigger Picture early next year. COUNTRY RECORDING ARTIST PERFORMS FOR TREE LIGHTING AT U.S. CAPITOL

Washington, D.C. (December 5th, 2012) - Country recording artist and Highway Angel spokesperson Lindsay Lawler was on hand Tuesday, December 4th to perform her single Standing Tall - chosen from over 400 submissions as this year's Capitol Christmas Tree theme song - at the tree's lighting ceremony on the Capitol's West Front Lawn, and again after the ceremony at the Congressional Reception. This was Lawler's first performance in Washington, D.C. - an event made even more special, as it was also her birthday.

After Lawler's performance of Standing Tall, Speaker of the House John Boehner spoke, but left the honors of pressing the button that lit the tree to Eagle Scout and Colorado Springs native Ryan Shuster.

"Getting to perform my single Standing Tall on the West Lawn of the Capitol on live national television - with Speaker of the House John Boehner, his wife, and distinguished members of Congress in front of me and the U.S. Capitol behind me - on my birthday during my first trip ever to Washington D.C. is a moment I'll never forget, to say the least," said Lawler of the experience.

The Capitol tree's trip from its origins in Meeker, Colorado to its final destination in Washington D.C. has included a month of whistle stops in towns along the way, where the public had the opportunity to view the tree's 'Celebrating Our Great Outdoors' theme. Standing Tall - co-written by Chris Roberts and Greg Bleck - has been performed by Lawler at several of these whistle stops, including the House of Blues in Dallas and Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, as well as during the harvesting of the tree in Meeker, Colorado. Transportation of the tree was made possible by the Truckload Carriers Association.

About Lindsay Lawler:
Born and raised in Texas, Lindsay Lawler spent several years performing in Los Angeles before making her way to Nashville, Tennessee in 2007. After performing at the 2010 Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, Texas, she formed a partnership with the Truckload Carriers Association and has since been named the official spokeswoman of their Highway Angels program. Her single, Highway Angel, has given her exposure as an artist and become an anthem for truck drivers everywhere. She also wrote and recorded Long Haul, a salute to female truck drivers. Lawler continues to support the truck driving community through her performances around the country and her radio show, On The Road To Nashville. For more information on Lindsay Lawler, visit www.lindsaylawler.com.

About the Capitol Christmas Tree:
The Capitol Christmas Tree tradition began with House Speaker John W. McCormack placing a live tree on the Capitol lawn in 1964. Each year, a different National Forest is chosen to provide The People's Tree, which makes it way to Washington D.C. with the help of the Truckload Carrier's Association. Country superstars are joining forces for the first time in London to create C2C: Country to Country. Some of the biggest names in the business are heading across the Atlantic for a huge two-day music festival extravaganza at The O2 London in March 2013.

On Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th March 2013, C2C: Country to Country will see a line up of some of the leading country music artists in the world on stage together, including Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Darius Rucker, Vince Gill, Little Big Town, Brantley Gilbert, Kristian Bush, LeAnn Rimes and others to be announced shortly.

The sound of Nashville at the world’s most popular venue marks a major milestone in the UK’s love of country, where major US artists sell out arenas around the country.

The likes of LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood have had a massive effect on both the UK and US charts by appealing to modern day listeners while echoing the traditional sounds of the greatest country singers. Carrie Underwood’s sell out London performance last summer was the latest milestone and illustrated the UK’s huge appetite for the new sounds of country.

The O2 and SJM Concerts in association with the Country Music Association have established C2C with the intention of it becoming an annual event.

Jay Marciano, President and CEO of AEG Europe said: “As The O2 is the world’s most popular venue, the creation of C2C: Country to Country, will allow us to continue to maintain that position; our focus is to bring new and exciting events to UK music fans.  SJM Concerts and The O2 have jointly created this festival which we anticipate will become a sought after annual event.  C2C: Country to Country will cater to the thousands of country music fans in the UK who want to experience some of the biggest names in country music all in one place."

Headlining on Saturday 16th is the multi-award winning Tim McGraw has had 11 consecutive albums that debuted at Number One on the Billboard albums charts. He is the winner of 3 Grammys, 14 Academy of Country Music awards, 11 Country Music Association (CMA) awards, 10 American Music Awards, and 3 People's Choice Awards - a true superstar and amazing headline to the opening day of C2C: Country to Country

Speaking about the forthcoming event, Tim said: "Our trip to the UK and playing The O2 is one of the things I'm looking forward to the most for next year," said McGraw.  "I love being able to take my music to other countries, and I think there are a lot of new songs on TWO LANES OF FREEDOM that fans over there will really dig.  It's going to be a blast!"

Headlining on Sunday 17th will be Carrie Underwood, with 15 million album sales worldwide and five Grammy Awards.  Carrie has transcended expectations and the country music genre like no other, and her musical vital statistics are astonishing.

Carrie, who sold out London’s Royal Albert Hall in record time this summer, said, "I love the idea of a country music festival in London and I'm so excited that so many amazing artists are coming together for Country to Country.  I feel honored to help represent country music, and I know it's going to be a really fun weekend!"

As part of a new, recently launched initiative, CMA is investing in an international Country Music industry education and awareness strategy. CMA’s partnership with C2C: County to Country is an exciting platform to showcase some of the most popular artists in the format. CMA will bring the power of extensive assets to help promote the event worldwide. Website features with C2C: Country to Country artist interviews, social posts and digital content are just a few of the ways that Country Music Association’s fan base will be engaged.

Steve Moore, CEO of CMA said: “We at CMA are thrilled to be involved with the Country to Country music festival at The O2 arena. It will prove to be the beginning of an annual music tradition that Nashville artists can perform and build new fans throughout the UK and Europe."

BBC Radio 2 is the official radio partner, with Bob Harris, King of all things country, supporting the event and will be broadcasting highlights. Bob said: "It's fantastic to see such a great line-up of major Nashville talent performing in the UK. There's a very vibrant music scene in Nashville at the moment and it feels like a particularly exciting time for country music. I'm so pleased that British audiences are being given the opportunity to see some of country music's greatest stars performing live, and am personally thrilled to be able to reflect such a great weekend of music on my Radio 2 country show."

Taking place at The O2, the world’s leading music venue, C2C: Country to Country will be a festival platform to bring country music headliners together in one place, for one weekend.
Much more than just a music festival it will be a celebration of country style and culture and will see The O2 transformed into a mini Nashville.

Chris York, Director of SJM Concerts said “We are proud to be working with Jay and his team at The O2 to deliver an event of this caliber in the UK. The talent is fabulous and we look forward to growing C2C: Country to Country to be the place to see the best in US Country artists in the best venue setting.”

NEW ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Florida Georgia Line

NEW ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Florida Georgia Line

You don’t need to know that Tyler Hubbard comes from Monroe, Ga., or that his partner in Florida Georgia Line, Brian Kelley, comes from Ormond Beach, Fla. It’s the music that lets you know these two guys know how to kick it in the studio and onstage, Dixie style.
Scheduled to release Dec. 4 on the Republic Nashville imprint, Here’s to the Good Times is a pastiche of prickling banjo, walloping backbeats and muscle guitar, run through a blender of Country, Southern rock and a hint of hip-hop.
Hubbard and Kelley coast over these grooves with upbeat vocals that pound their good-time message home. Every measure of their first single, “Cruise,” suggests head-bobbing and arm-waving. Written by Hubbard, Kelley, their producer Joey Moi, Chase Rice and Jesse Rice, it opens with a harmonized vocal figure, which pops with the first of several lyric hooks that made this one of the catchiest summer anthems of the year. (The “Chevy with a lift-kit” lick midway through the chorus is a lethally infectious secondary sing-along line.)
This first single from Here’s to the Good Times pretty much defines Florida Georgia Line’s party-hard feel. Even their song titles beckon listeners to join in on the fun: “Get Your Shine On” (Rodney Clawson, Kelley, Hubbard and Chris Tompkins) builds through a melodic fragment that rises, step by step, into another ear-worm chorus, this one at a steady medium tempo. “Tip It Back” (Clawson, Hubbard and Kelley) applies those three words to ball caps, long-necks and the seats in “your girlfriend’s Cadillac.” With their smiling, deep-drawl delivery and relentlessly upbeat outlook, who could resist invitations like these?
IN THEIR OWN WORDS
MUSICAL HERO
KELLEY: “Garth Brooks.” HUBBARD: “Lil Wayne.”
BOOK ON YOUR NIGHTSTAND
BOTH: “Bible.”
SONG YOU SING IN THE SHOWER
HUBBARD: “Whatever vocal my producer Joey Moi is making me practice.”
LUCKY CHARM
KELLEY: “It’s not a lucky charm, but I wear a necklace my dad gave me when we signed our deal. I never take if off.”
MOMENT YOU’D LOVE TO RELIVE
BOTH: “The last year of our lives. It has been unreal.”
TITLE OF YOUR AUTOBIOGRAPHY
BOTH: “Enjoy the Ride.”

Bucky Covington Blazes a Path toward Fire Safety

Bucky Covington Blazes a Path toward Fire Safety

By Bob Doerschuk
Spectacular entrances are traditional at the CMA Awards along the Macy’s Walk of Stars, but it’s safe to say no one will soon top the 2012 arrival of Bucky Covington, who showed up aboard a vintage Nashville Fire Department truck as red flashers whirled.
Aside from fulfilling every kid’s fantasy, Covington chose this vehicle to inspire support for firefighters who lost their lives or suffered debilitating injuries while on the job.
This story begins about a year ago, when the young singer got involved with Help the Good Guys, which supports the families of firefighters and police officers killed or injured in the line of duty. “The first guy I met through them was Brad Dean, a carpenter who volunteered with the fire department in Birmingham, Ala.,” he recalled. “Fifty percent of his body from the waist down had been burned in a fire, which made it impossible for him to work.”
Covington gets emotional when he talks about these people — these “heroes,” as he calls them. So it was only natural that he would connect with Kidde, the world’s largest manufacturer of residential fire safety products. His reasoning, that effective alarm systems could help prevent further death and injuries, dovetailed with Kidde’s philosophy.
“We want to raise awareness that not only do families need to replace the batteries in the smoke alarms they have, but that there are also technologies out there that make it possible for families to not worry about it,” said Heather Caldwell, Communications Manager, Kidde. “We launched a new line of sealed lithium battery smoke alarms on Nov. 1 — conveniently, CMA Awards day — whose batteries last for a full 10 years.”
With Covington signed on as spokesperson in conjunction with the nonprofit organizations the National Firefighters Foundation and Help the Good Guys, Kidde launched the “Be a Hero/Save a Hero” campaign. Through television spots and PSAs produced by ABC, aired in select markets during CMA Awards week, and continuing on select ABC stations, CMT, Facebook and Twitter through December, viewers are encouraged to visit AlarmPledge.com and promise to install, regularly test and eventually replace smoke alarms at home. For every pledge ”shared” and ”liked,” Kidde will donate up to $10,000 to each partner nonprofit.
“This is a truly collaborative campaign, with CMA and ABC putting this together,” said Debra O’Connell, Senior VP, Advertising Sales, ABC National TV Sales. “We certainly feel that the presence and excitement around the Macy’s Walk of Stars is the best way to kick off this program.”
“It takes money to run every charity out there,” Covington said. “But first you’ve got to get the awareness out there. I’m a Country Music singer, so I can bring that awareness and that will help bring immediate financial relief for firefighters and their families. That’s a lot better than strapping on a guitar, singing 12 songs, saying’ Thank you! Good night!’ and then you’re on the bus to the next town.”
