Truck Driver turned Chart Topping

Truck Driver turned Chart Topping Country Artist, Bobby Dean, Takes Listeners on Backroad Journey with Country Country

Named New Music Weekly's
2012 Male Country Breakthrough Artist of the Year"

***
"Simply put – if you love traditional sounds, you are going to love Bobby Dean!"
Chuck Dauphin - Music News Nashville
***

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Truck driver turned chart topping traditional country singer, Bobby Dean, has celebrated his share of successes this past year.  After spins of his sophmore album on Lamon Records, Country Country, garnered critical success at radio, the record has continued to show up on indie charts nationwide.

As the title suggests, the music on this project is nothing but pure country. His song “Me and George Strait” just topped the New Music Weekly Chart at #1, and entered the Top 80 on Music Row's Chart in September, and his newest single, “You Can’t Drink ‘Em All” is at NMW, MR, Billboard and MediaBase stations now.  “White Lightning or Pink Champaign” earned similar success on NMW (Top 5) and Music Row (Top 80) in May of this year.

Produced by Grammy nominated producer and Lamon label president Dave Moody, and engineered and mixed by Academy of Country Music Award winning engineer Steve Marcantonio at the legendary Sound Emporium in Nashville, Country Country has all the right elements to feed the appetite of today’s traditional country music lover.

“In 2010, I had the honor and privilege of hearing Bobby Dean’s first demo album. It reminded me of Country Music the way that it used to be – long before all the bells and whistles such as Pro Tools that make the music sound perfect yet sometimes lifeless,” says Moody.

There’s nothing lifeless about this Kent, WA native’s approach to music. Put simply, he sounds like he is having a blast. His enjoyment comes across in such fun filled honky tonk material as “White Lightning or Pink Champagne” and “Me And George Strait.” Dean isn’t trying to save the world nor make a huge socio-political statement, he’s just wanting you to forget your problems for two to three minutes.

Bobby Dean loves the classics, and on Country Country, he adds his own vocal touch to George Jones’ 1974 classic “The Grand Tour” as well as the Buck Owens (via Terry Fell) classic “Truck Driving Man.” He wants to celebrate the originals as well as the impact they’ve had on his own sound, rather than make you forget them.   The Grammy nominated Moody Brothers and Grand Ole Opry veteran George Hamilton IV join him on “Truck Driving Man,” and offer up some spirited vocal exchanges.

Simply put, if you love traditional sounds, you are going to love Bobby Dean.

From his home near Seattle, Washington, where he owns and operates a successful trucking company, Bobby Dean says he’s happy just “living the dream.”  As we’ve seen lately with shows like NBC’s The Voice, it’s never too late to try and live it. “I’ve always loved singing country music,” reflects Bobby Dean.  ”I’m just so grateful to Lamon Records for this opportunity.  It’s been an amazing journey so far and I’m grateful for all the support the fans and country radio have given me and my music.”

Dave Moody adds “We've done some out of the box music video pieces as well for this music collection. "Another Last Chance" is a 15 minute movie short featuring three songs from Country Country that are tied together with a common storyline - a first for Nashville. Bobby is an artist who wants to push the envelope and we hope to reach a broader audience with this new CD release and film.”

Country Country is available at iTunesAmazon and hundreds of other sites as well as on CD from the Lamon Records web store.  The physical CD actually features two bonus tracks of Bobby’s first Lamon chart singles ("Hank on the Radio" and "Rebound") not found on the digital release version.

Jerrod Niemann “Only God Could Love You More”

Jerrod Niemann Releases “Only God Could Love You More” from His Acclaimed New Free the Music Album

Nashville, TN – Sea Gayle Records/Arista Nashville singer/songwriter Jerrod Niemann is poised to hit the airwaves with the stirring “Only God Could Love You More,” the new single from his recently released Free the Music album.
Co-written by Niemann with Jon Stone and Lee Brice, “Only God Could Love You More” has been lauded by fans and reviewers alike as one of the standout tracks on Free the Music.
The song inspired MusicRow’s Robert K. Oermann to hail “Only God Could Love You More” as “truly ground breaking and fresh sounding,” declaring, “This man is so creative. As if the songwriting wasn’t cool enough, the production is a brain-filling delight … essential listening.”
Roughstock.com heralds Niemann’s powerful, one-take performance as “a downright passionate and crazy good vocal,” while Country Weekly cheers “Only God Could Love You More” as “incredibly compelling … enormous in sentiment, but simplistic in delivery, it earns five stars on its own.”
About the new single, Niemann offers, “Everyone who has heard the album, this is always the song they bring up. We didn’t put any harmonies on it and used my original tracking vocal. ‘Lover, Lover’ [Niemann’s breakthrough #1 smash] had a bunch of harmony parts, so I thought it’d be a nice change to have zero here, especially with the French horns and the other orchestral things we have going on.”
Niemann talks more about this song in the online video clip here: http://youtu.be/uh8ZFGVBa4s.
Co-produced by Niemann and Dave Brainard, Free the Music is the follow-up to Jerrod’s chart-topping major-label debut album, Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury, which produced the #1 smash and RIAA-certified Platinum Digital Single, “Lover, Lover,” and the Top 5 and RIAA-certified Gold Digital Single, “What Do You Want.”
Niemann’s Free the Music album is available via this link: http://smarturl.it/FreeTheMusic.
Currently among the guest artists appearing on the Blake Shelton Cruise this week, Niemann will be back on the road next week headlining his current tour, presented by Jägermeister. For a complete list of tour dates and much more, visit www.JerrodNiemannOfficial.com .

Aldean kicked off the day at Boston’s Fenway Park with Red Sox EVP/COO Sam Kennedy on hand to announce his July 13, 2013 date, making history as the first country artist to ever play the famed stadium.  He traveled to Chicago’s Wrigley Field this afternoon and was joined by Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts to reveal that his long history of record-breaking Chicago area shows helped catapult him to stadium level headliner for the July 20 tour stop.  The Macon, GA native and lifelong Georgia Bulldogs fan ended the day in Athens, GA by surprising a crowd of UGA students who thought they were attending a pep rally.  When the curtain dropped, Aldean appeared to reveal that he will hold the first ever concert at Sanford Stadium on April 13, 2013.  He was welcomed by football head coach Mark Richt and followed the surprise with a special performance for fans.

"It takes a lot to make me nervous, but walking out of the dugout at Fenway this morning to announce our show there definitely did it," said Aldean.  "It's the kind of moment you dream about your whole career, so I tried to take a minute to soak it up, but it's pretty overwhelming.  It was an incredible day as we went on to Wrigley for that announcement and then finished it up tonight with a surprise performance for the fans at University of Georgia.   It's a day that I'm never going to forget."

RICKY SKAGGS TO HEADLINE 15TH ANNUAL CONCERT FOR CUMBERLAND HEIGHTS

RICKY SKAGGS TO HEADLINE 15TH ANNUAL CONCERT FOR CUMBERLAND HEIGHTS

Skaggs and The Whites Sign on for Holiday-themed Show at Ryman Auditorium on December 6 to Help Raise Funds for the John Hiatt Fund for Adolescent Treatment

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – October 18, 2012 –
Country and Bluegrass music legend Ricky Skaggs will headline the 15th Annual Concert for Cumberland Heights on December 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. The show will feature Ricky Skaggs along with acclaimed trio The Whites, which includes his wife Sharon, sister-in-law Cheryl, and father-in-law Buck White. The evening will be a holiday-themed, variety-style show titled “A Skaggs Family Christmas,” featuring both holiday classics and new Christmas music from the celebrated musical clan and bringing together the love of family and the beauty of song for a great cause. This is the Ryman’s longest running benefit concert series, and tickets are now on sale at ryman.com (http://www.ryman.com/event/detail/skaggsxmas12.html), the Ryman box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.

Since 1996, the annual Concert for Cumberland Heights (www.cumberlandheights.org) has raised more than $1.8 million for the John Hiatt Fund for Adolescent Treatment. Singer/songwriter John Hiatt will host the event, sharing his own recovery from alcohol and drug abuse to inspire others.

"We are honored that Ricky and his family have signed on to celebrate this milestone fundraiser for such an important program at Cumberland Heights," said Cumberland Heights CEO Jim Moore.  "This fund has helped us shape our adolescent program into one of the best in the country."

"It's really great to be coming back to my favorite venue, the Ryman, to do our Skaggs Family Christmas show and especially getting to partner with Cumberland Heights," said Skaggs.  "This will be a very special event that you won't want to miss."

A 14-time GRAMMY winner, Skaggs is perhaps best known for his masterful mandolin playing and his timeless Bluegrass albums, including Bluegrass Rules!, Big Mon: The Songs of Bill MonroeSalt of the Earth with The Whites, and Honoring the Fathers of Bluegrass: Tribute to 1946 and 1947.  Skaggs also enjoyed a thriving mainstream Country career, and in 1982, he became a member of the Grand Ole Opry, the youngest to ever be inducted at that time.  In 1985, he earned the Entertainer of the Year Award from the Country Music Association (CMA).

One of Country music’s finest and most beloved family harmony groups, The Whites, have enjoyed a prolific music career that has spanned the past four decades. Buck White (vocals, piano, mandolin), Sharon (vocals, guitar) and Cheryl (vocals, bass) officially comprise the group which originally started out as a Bluegrass group, but the family trio became well known for its string of Country hits in the 1980s culminating in their induction as Opry members in 1984. They were involved in the 2001 hit movie and soundtrack, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and have gone on to win multiple awards, including GRAMMY, CMA and Dove Awards, among others.

Cumberland Heights’ Youth Program is designed to help adolescents ages 14 to 18 and their families find the most effective way to deal with the challenges they face and commit to recovery. One of its most highly praised programs, the Youth Program includes a residential program with intensive outpatient treatment; an extended care program for adolescents who have completed primary treatment; and outpatient services for those in the early stages of chemical dependency. The Youth Program is staffed with highly trained and licensed educators who operate River Road Academy, a state-approved, private high school that provides a drug-free environment for students in recovery.

Expected to be a sellout, the Concert for Cumberland Heights is a festive family event in an intimate setting that highlights the need for compassionate care for adolescents in crisis.

About Cumberland Heights:
