HIGH VALLEY RELEASES DEBUT SINGLE “LOVE YOU FOR A LONG TIME”

HIGH VALLEY RELEASES DEBUT SINGLE,
“LOVE YOU FOR A LONG TIME,”
TO COUNTRY RADIO

TWEET:  @HighValley is ready to take over the US airwaves as they release their new single #loveyouforalongtime to country radio!!! #loveisalongroad

Nashville, TN…(August 16, 2012)… Whether attributed to genetics or singing together since birth, there is something remarkable about the vocal perfection of three brothers singing together in flawless harmony. Country music trio HIGH VALLEY is a prime example of this sonic phenomenon as Brad, Bryan and Curtis’s voices meld seamlessly on their stateside debut single, “Love You For A Long Time.”

Rodeowave Entertainment is partnering with the trio to launch the band’s first U.S. single, “Love You For A Long Time,” written by lead singer Brad Rempel with Jared Crump and Ben Stennis. The song’s driving rhythm and catchy lyric describe the perfect love that endures through the ups and downs of life. “Love You For A Long Time” is available now via PlayMPE with a September 10 impact date. The band has spent the last several weeks on a nationwide radio tour and stations are already spinning the track! High Valley is already a familiar face on CMT Pure and CMT.com with music videos on TV and online.

Brothers Brad (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Bryan (harmony vocals, bass guitar) and Curtis (harmony vocals, mandolin), all in their twenties, make up High Valley. The sibling trio found inspiration in the music of country music icons Alabama, Rascal Flatts, Diamond Rio and Shenandoah while growing up listening to their older sisters’ records. After sixteen years of touring and opening for the likes of superstars Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and Reba McEntire in their northern homeland, Canadian CMA Awards “Group of the Year” nominees High Valley are preparing to make their U.S. debut.

With three Top 10 singles and numerous nominations and awards to their credit, 27-year old lead singer Brad moved to Nashville in 2010 to begin writing with some of Nashville’s top songwriters. He collaborated with established tunesmiths including Phil Barton (Lee Brice “A Woman Like You”), Danny Wells (George Strait “Check Yes or No”) and Allen Shamblin (Miranda Lambert “The House That Built Me”) to co-write ten of the eleven tracks on their upcoming U.S. debut album, Love Is A Long Road, before Bryan and Curtis joined in the studio alongside producers Phil O’Donnell and Jeremy Spillman. The record will release through Eaglemont Entertainment in early 2013 as the single climbs the country radio charts.

Steel Guitar News August 16. 2012

Hello fellow players, It’s not often that a steel guitar instrumental makes headlines in Nashville’s Tennessean newspaper, but it does happen and it happened to one of nicest guys you’ll ever want to run into, Mike Daly. So Mike is going to be our guest newsletter writer today. For those who don’t already know Mike, he has been with Hank Jr. for the last 18 years along with recording three albums with Texas icon Pat Green. He was also the Dobro player on the Hayseed Dixie album “A Hillbilly Tribute To AC/DC” which sold 100,000 copies. Previous to working with Hank Jr. Mike was a member of the Gibson/Miller Band and recorded two albums for Sony Music in ’93 and ’94, “Where There’s Smoke” and “Red White And Blue Collar”. At this point I’m turning it over to Mike. The story behind my album getting in the newspaper is that Peter Cooper was introduced to the album through Lloyd Green. I had gone to Pacific International Music Studio on 18th Avenue to give an advance copy of the album to my friend, producer and engineer Mike Flanders. Mike had been very helpful in maintaining the direction of the album and I wanted him to have the first advance copy. When I walked in, Lloyd Green had just completed a session and was tearing down his steel. I gave Mike his copy and Lloyd asked, “What have you got there?” After listening to four songs he said, “I want to take this album home and digest it.” The next morning Lloyd emailed me and was very complimentary on the CD and really understood what it was about. He contacted Peter Cooper who in turn thought the music was worthy of an article. And that’s how I ended up in the Nashville newspapers. What I tried to do with this album was showcase the broad range of music that could be made with the steel guitar. I do sessions downtown all the time and I see guitars player come in with ten guitars and five different amplifiers so they can create numerous tracks that all have their own voice and color. However, steel guitar is usually relegated to a single track with the tone of the steel guitar being what you would expect. We don’t get to experiment around. When producers call you to a session, that’s what they’re looking for in a steel guitar track. But I’ve been around a studio long enough to know that a steel guitar is capable of a much broader palette of tones and colors than most people have been exposed to. Throughout this album I tried to showcase everything the steel guitar is capable of. There is no guitar player on this album, yet you will hear many layers of guitar like tones that are all produced on the steel through different techniques. Like guitar players, I used multiple guitars and a variety of tube amplifiers. The guitars were a 1993 Emmons LeGrande, a 1973 Pro II Sho-Bud and a Show Pro Russ Pahl Jr. model with two pickups on it’s single neck which provided the solo for “Frankenstein”. I employed a collection of Fender amplifiers, a Ken Fox 212 Twin copy and a Peavey Ranger 212. The important thing I want to note is that these were all tube amps as opposed to solid state which most steel players gravitate to. For my purposes, the tubes respond better to tonal coloring and have a warmer, richer, thicker sound. To give you a more detailed insight into my recording process, let’s talk about “Colour My World”, a song by the group Chicago. The arpeggiated piano part that opens the song was played on the Emmons through a DeLuxe with slight chorusing. I didn’t use any finger picks or thumb pick to attain a darker, warmer tone. The next sound you hear will be whole note pads using a flanger in conjunction with a tremolo. I wanted to create pads that would be more ethereal and leave room for the melody line to speak. The melody was played Dobro style on a Les Paul through the DeLuxe using a G Dobro slide tuning. The final solo utilized the Sho-Bud running through a Fender Twin and a plate reverb to complete the song with a sweet country sound. When Bobbe heard this album, he graciously offered to let me write this newsletter to inform people about my record and I’m very grateful for this opportunity. Bobbe has always been very supportive of my approach to the steel, even to the point of employing me at Steel Guitar Nashville in 1988 and helping me survive through my first year in the Nashville community. I just want to publicly thank Bobbe for all he’s done for me throughout my career in Nashville. Thanks for your time, Mike Daly Note from Bobbe: You can order Mike’s CD from Steel Guitar Nashville. THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW RISES FROM THE CORNFIELDS OF IOWA

THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW RISES FROM THE CORNFIELDS OF IOWA

NEW YORK CITY.....When the Beatles took the stage at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City in 1964, who would have ever guessed that some of the people that made that particular show, would be showing up at a festival in the middle of a cornfield in drought-ridden Iowa during the National Old Time Music Festival in LeMars?
"Saul Held was the Chief Broadcast engineer for CBS-TV at the time of Sullivan's Show.  He was my dad, and I got to visit him on the set of the Ed Sullivan show.  It was a remarkable experience for me, and ultimately led me to my marriage to one of the most wonderful Christian singers and songwriters in the world.  We're going to be at LeMars."
Nancy Dean, is the wife of Ronnie Dean.  She actually saw many of the Ed Sullivan shows that her father helped produce.  She recalls, "I saw the Muppets.  I watched, fascinated, as the director spoke over the PA, not to the puppeteers, but to Bert and Ernie themselves. No visible humans were onstage; the characters were simply real. Later during a break, the puppets were parked lifeless in front row seats.  I was crushed.  The Carol Burnett show was one of my favorites.  My dad broadcast the show weekly for years.  He collected the autographs of Chet Atkins, Patty Duke, Allan Sherman, Dom DeLuise, the Beatles, and many many more.  My dad was on the ground floor of the advent of television, and he stayed with it as long as he possibly could.  That's why I admire people like Bob & Sheila Everhart.  They've been doing this festival of America's old-time music for 37 years.  That's got to be a record of sorts, in anybody's book."
Bob Everhart was quick to respond to Nancy Dean's thoughts.  "I visited the Ed Sullivan Theater when I was in NYC, and today it's the David Letterman CBS set.  The thing I liked about Sullivan, was that he would but anyone on if they had talent and were good, and that meant he had a lot of 'country' artists.  That's not the case today, far from it.  That's also the reason Sheila and I stay close to the grindstone keeping America's rural music alive.  Country music itself is a very old genre of music.  It's been around since the beginning of America.  What Sheila and I like to focus on, not only as Smithsonian Institution recording artists, but as performers, is what country music was like many years ago.  We actually perform 'young' country music.  This guy from White House, Tennessee, Ronnie Dean, is a young country-gospel songwriter performer.  The Rural Roots Music Commission picked his CD "Everything" as their "Bluegrass Gospel CD of the Year." That's quite an achievement for  Ronnie Dean.  The people who sit on the RRMC selection committee are pretty much all 'rural' people."
"Ronnie Dean will be with us at our 37th annual "National Old Time Country-Bluegrass-Folk Music Festival & Rural America Lifestyle" on Saturday, September 1.  He will be performing on a brand new show called "A Tribute to Ed Sullivan," which will contain a huge variety of performers that very well may have been selected for just such a program in the past. A producer from Florida, Tommy Worrell, is coming to emcee the program, and is also considering taking the same show to Miami for an opportunity to produce it there."
"We certainly have the celebrities that would qualify for the Ed Sullivan Show with us this year," Sheila Everhart, Bob's wife added.  "Lynn Anderson, Ed Bruce, Charlie McCoy, Michael Martin Murphey, Terry Smith, June Webb, and over 650 additional singers, pickers, players, instrumentalists, yodelers, and performers also on the bill, on no less than ten stages functioning from 9am to midnight, every day for seven days.  It's a scheduling nightmare to say the least.  It's all part of the Ag-Expo we direct."
According to Ronnie Dean, "I'm really looking forward to performing on a show my wife was so closely connected to.  My new album "Everything," fulfills my musical destiny.  My mom was a classically trained violinist and pianist, and my dad loved country music, his favorite artist being Hank Snow.   I learned how to play guitar first,  until it drove my mom nuts, but it certainly has taken me on a most interesting road in music.  Two years ago, bluegrass music changed my life.  I had no idea the genre was so huge.  It's an emotional experience for me, and I'm particularly looking forward to sharing my music in the middle of that cornfield in Iowa, that features a tribute to Ed Sullivan."
The festival the Everhart's direct is strictly acoustic in nature, and begins on August 27th going all the way through to September 2nd.  RV's come from across America to partake of ten stages of on-going entertainment, along with good Midwest home-style food.  It all takes place at the huge Plymouth County Fairgrounds in LeMars, Iowa, home to the world's largest ice cream manufacturer, Blue Bunny.  According to the Everhart's "We wouldn't forget about ice cream at our festival.  On at least one day it's free.  We also have lots of contests and workshops to help those who are just beginning to be interested in playing America's 'young' country music.  We have a website at www.ntcma.net."

Taylor Swifts Single setzt neuen Rekord bei itunes

Als Taylor Swift vor ein paar Tagen während eines Live Online Chats ihr neues Album „Red“ (erscheint am 22. Oktober) vorstellte, spielte sie auch den darauf enthaltenen Song We Are Never Getting Back Together vor. Obwohl manche nach dem ersten Hören nicht begeistert waren und ihre Kritik äußerten, war der Großteil wohl doch positiv angetan. Nachdem der Song bei iTunes zum Download bereitstand, dauerte es nur 50 Minuten, bis die Single auf Platz 1 der iTunes Single-Charts war – neuer Rekord.

BUCKY COVINGTON’S FIRST RACE IN LEGENDS CAR IS A HUGE SUCCESS RAISING AWARENESS FOR HELP THE GOOD GUYS

BUCKY COVINGTON’S FIRST RACE IN LEGENDS CAR IS A HUGE SUCCESS
RAISING AWARENESS FOR HELP THE GOOD GUYS

Nashville, TN…(August 15, 2012)…Country Music Star Bucky Covington was ecstatic on Saturday August 11th when he got the chance to drive a Legends Race Car and play a full band show for fans at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, all in support of Help The Good Guys. Although Covington only got a few practice laps the week before the race, he had a strong finish in the middle of the pack with no damage to the car. The track presented Bucky with a 7-foot tall trophy to recognize his work on behalf of Help The Good Guys, an organization that supports fire fighters injured in the line of duty. Also, attendance at the Fairgrounds Speedway was boosted because of the Covington’s involvement in the weekend’s festivities, reaching a final count of over 10,000 spectators.

“I’m always glad to do what I can to support injured fire fighters through Help The Good Guys,” says Covington,  “and getting to experience driving a race car for the 1st time made it that much more memorable. I am so thankful to the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville and to the Young Racing family for giving us such a meaningful opportunity.” Proceeds from the race and concert go to Help The Good Guys, an organization providing immediate financial relief to fire fighters and their families who have been injured on duty.

Saturday was a very busy day for Bucky kicking off in Dickson, TN at 9am to participate in Country Superstar Craig Morgan’s 6th Annual Charity Motocross Ride, and then off to the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville to qualify for the Legends Race at 2:30. Covington then signed autographs for fans before putting on a full band show and then jumping behind the wheel of his fire-engine themed racecar complete with working siren. Bucky would have loved to stay for the rest of the races, but had another show later that night also in Nashville.

Wrapping up a fun-filled weekend, Covington is ready to get back on the road to finish up the busy summer touring season. Bucky’s tour schedule is not the only reason he will be busy in the coming months. His new single “Drinking Side of Country,” the duet with Shooter Jennings, is generating quite a buzz with over 2 million views for the video in less than a week. The song can be found on his sophomore album GOOD GUYS, releasing September 11th with a portion of first week sales benefitting Help The Good Guys and the IAFF Charitable Foundation.

About Bucky Covington: Bucky Covington’s self-titled debut CD opened at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with the biggest first week sales for any debut country artist that year. In addition to competing on the fifth season of American Idol, Bucky’s national television appearances have included Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kelly!, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show and Fox & Friends.

US Country Hit "Girl on Bilboard".

Machs gut "ALTES HAUS"

Dein Weggefährte Volker Hagenböhmer alias Jay-Lassiter
