Sean McAloon Releases ‘Desperado Love’

Rising Star Sean McAloon Releases ‘Desperado Love’
Co.Fermanagh’s Rising Star Sean McAloon has just released his new single, ‘Desperado Love’, following on from the success he has had in 2012 thus far.
‘Desperado Love’ was originally recorded by Conway Twitty in 1986, making it his final Billboard Chart Hit in the United States. Sean has a demonstrable ability to put new life into an old song, bringing in his smooth, stylish vocal ability whilst maintaining the integrity of the authentic American Country sound. Sean’s vocals are complemented by a first class arrangement from Paul McNeilly at the Pinegrove Studios in Ballymena, Co.Antrim.

Aged just 19, Sean has made a big impression within the Irish Country scene, since releasing his first single earlier this year. ‘Watching Her Go’ penned by John Farry and Pam Rose, received tremendous airplay from a wide range of stations around the world.
Sean followed up on this success with the Eugene Cunningham penned ‘Land Of Lake McNean’. Featuring the theme of love winning over emigration, the song was well placed amidst the spirit-of-the-times. A music video was also released to accompany this song, and screened on Sky Showcase TV.
Sean is currently compiling material for his debut album, which will be released in Autumn 2012. He hopes to feature original material from top songwriters in the UK, Ireland and the USA, as well as a couple of classic covers. Sean will also be launching his official fan-club to co-incide with the album.
Sean said: “I have had a love for singing from my early teens, and I have always been actively encouraged in the pursuit of my passion, by my parents. Without them, none of this would have been possible. I want to thank my family and friends for all their encouragement – it’s very much appreciated.”

Mac Powell

More Than Two Dozen Dates Already Booked For Fall Solo Tour

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 1, 2012) - Mac Powell, front man of the multi-platinum selling, four time GRAMMY and American Music Award winning rock band Third Day, releases his self-titled debut country music album on August 21, 2012. The CD features twelve songs by the #1 hit songwriter including his first single, “June Bug” which he released last month through his Twitter account (@macpowell) to his more than 80,000 followers.

His recent solo country performance debut at the 2012 CMA Music Festival in Nashville resulted in a host of media and fan accolades. Of his song, “One Mississippi,” USA Today’s Lucas Hendrickson writes, “Note to country radio programmers: keep an ear out for ‘One Mississippi.’ And keep a spoon handy, for you will be eating this song up with it.”

"I grew up listening to country music," Powell tells Billboard. "It was a big part of shaping me musically and I think that's pretty evident in Third Day music. There's always been little tinge of it."

To help further shape the sound he was looking for, Powell worked with producer Jason Hoard who has been touring with Third Day since 2010. Hoard, a multi-instrumentalist, played banjo and mandolin on the album and also contributed to the songwriting credits along with famed tunesmith Brett James (“Jesus Take the Wheel,” “Love You Out Loud,” “Out Last Night,” “When the Sun Goes Down”).

"I started writing with Brett. He was really the first step," says Powell in his Billboard interview. "We just hit it off really well and came up with a lot of ideas in a short amount of time, and then Jason worked on a few of those ideas as well. We started recording them and it just started feeling great.

“There have been so many times in the past that I had song ideas that didn’t really fit lyrically or musically with Third Day,” Powell wrote on his personal Tumblr site, announcing the project. “I filed those songs away to the ‘maybe sometime’ category. Well, that time is now.”

Powell is already booked for over two dozen shows this summer and fall to introduce fans to his new music. He’s back by a seasoned group of country musicians, affectionately named The Backsliders, and although it’s a bit of a change for an artist whose primary outlet puts him in front of thousands of fans a night, it’s a change he clearly feels led to follow. “It’s different to think about getting in a van with a trailer and driving five to eight hours a night,” Powell told “It’s something I never thought I would do again, but when you’re driven to get this music out, you’ll do it.”

Powell also stresses that his work with Third Day continues, with the band putting the finishing touches on a new album – helmed by veteran rock producer Brendan O’Brien – that’s due for release this fall, with a Spring 2013 tour to follow.

About Mac Powell:
As front man for Third Day, Powell has contributed to the Atlanta-based, multi-Platinum act’s 27 No. 1 radio singles and more than seven million album sales, including two RIAA Platinum as well as eight Gold certifications. A Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductee (2009), Third Day has garnered 24 career GMA Dove Awards from 42 nominations, four GRAMMY Awards (with 11 career nominations), an American Music Award (with three American Music Award nominations) and multiple ASCAP honors, including its coveted Vanguard Award, for songwriting.

Long known as Christian music’s premier live band, Third Day has played for audiences reaching into the millions all around the world.

Third Day has been featured by top media outlets including “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (NBC), “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” (CBS), “60 Minutes” (CBS), ABC’s “Nightline,” USA Today, the New York Times, and even graced the cover of Billboard magazine, which called Third Day “one of the best rock bands.”

Nominated for an Emmy for his musical contribution to NBC's Today show, producer Ray Barnette worked alongside Billy Dean on his Asylum-Curb project, Let Them Be Little. I'm glad to be along for the ride."
Programmers have weighed in on the single with early praise:

Maison's first appearance on the country music scene came in 2008 when he appeared on GAC Television. This showcase of his musical talent led to performance dates and radio airplay across his home state of Michigan. Maison's big break came when his single, "Fast Enough," was released to radio last November and made its way onto the Music Row Chart (#43) as well as the country Indicator charts (#56). In his years as a singer-songwriter, Maison has performed alongside several notable names in country music including Uncle Kracker, Easton Corbin, Phil Vassar, Eric Church, Jake Owen and Frankie Ballard to name a few. Maison is currently in the studio working on putting the finishing touches on his debut album due out this fall.

Heidi NewfieldNashville, Tenn. (July 31, 2012) - Heidi Newfield’s ( Interview with Heidi Newfield )dramatic new video, “Why’d You Have To Be So Good”, is now showing on CMT Pure, GAC and The Country Network.  Fans can see the video on those networks or on
The power ballad, which deals with heartbreak, loss and hope, is getting great reviews.  “I first heard this song about eight years ago, if you can believe that.  It has always been special, and I had hoped it would come home to me someday.  So, here we are.” Heidi says.  “I think this video is amazing and so different than anything else out there.  I got the chance to dig deep and pull from some real emotions.  It was also fun to play with the hair and makeup and fashion forward look throughout.  I think my fans will get it and love it and I hope to make a lot more new fans with this one as well.”

Directed by Eric Welch, the video features Heidi ( Personal Message from Heidi Newfield ) in two settings: one totally black and one totally white.  “There’s a constant struggle between hope and fear within all of us.  This video allows the viewer to watch that internal struggle play out.  The black represents the sadness you feel when you lose someone or a fear that has its grip on us,” Heidi says.  “The white represents hope which will always exist even in the midst of fear if we only allow it.”  Heidi describes the dramatic nature of the video as a departure from anything her fans have seen from her in the past. “It was fun to act a little bit,” she added.

With a history of platinum selling albums and Top 20 singles, Heidi Newfield drew rave reviews for her debut solo album, “What Am I Waiting For”.  The album contained the hit single, “Johnny and June”, which was RIAA certified gold and received four ACM award nominations.   Now the flagship artist for Sidewalk Records, Heidi’s new album will follow the lead single, “Why’d You Have To Be So Good”, which was written by hitmakers Jeffrey Steele and Jeremy Popoff (lead guitarist for heavy metal band, Lit.)  Fans can download the single at iTunes.

Phoenix Stone Set To Release ‘100 Proof Moonshine’

Industry Vet Phoenix Stone Set To Release ‘100 Proof Moonshine’
Debut Country Single Ready To Make Radio Holler & Swaller
(Nashville, TN)--- While Labor Day may be just around the corner, the summer will continue to sizzle for music fans as hit producer and songwriter, Phoenix Stone, is set to release his debut country single, '100 Proof Moonshine,' to radio on September 10th. Written and produced by Stone, this good time anthem is sure to get radio and fans alike ready to Holler and Swaller. Those looking for a sneak peak can hear the track now exclusively on ROUGHSTOCK:
This project has been a long time coming for Stone, an industry vet who has worked alongside everyone from Art Garfunkel to newcomer, Liana Conway, to the platinum-selling boy band, The Backstreet Boys. After landing deals with Warner/Chappell Nashville and Universal Records as a teenager, Stone opted to put his own solo career on the back burner but never lost sight of eventually making an album on his own terms.
"With country music, you've got to have lived a little and had the life experiences that you sing about," this Florida native explains. "With a wealth of experiences in hand, I am now ready to return to my roots."
Phoenix Stone is embracing the country-rock direction he first demonstrated on the inspirational charity single, 'Proud to Be (Born Again American).' Commissioned by legendary television producer Norman Lear and produced by country hit-maker James Stroud, this track reached the Top 15 on the Country/Christian charts with Stone donating 100% of the proceeds to American Veterans and the non-profit Declare Yourself.
'100 Proof Moonshine' returns Stone to Music City, and this time he's ready for the challenge. After calling upon Nashville's hottest musicians, this southern country stylist has proudly created a unique sound that blends the soulful grooves of the Allman Brothers and the traditional values of Hank with the rockin' contemporary production of Jason Aldean. His debut country album can be expected in early 2013.
Fans seem to be catching on quickly as his YouTube channel has garnered nearly 3 million hits in this year alone. Stay connected with Phoenix Stone and his Facebook community of over 60,000 fans:!/PhoenixStoneFans or his Twitter community of over 70,000 fans:

(Nashville, Tennessee) –July 31, 2012 –In the midst of one of the hottest summers on record, breaking new country artist, Angela Hesse, is turning the heat up even further for country music listeners with her debut single, “Hot Summertime” (HMG/ASH Records) now radiating nationally across the airwaves.

“Hot Summertime” is but one centerpiece of Angela’s much-anticipated debut album project, “Bittersweet,” –an incredible in-studio labor of love on both the performance and songwriting sides for the stunning tall, blue-eyed blonde with the radiate smile. The album will street in August, giving country music audiences a full-on introduction to a newcomer with the undeniable talent, looks, and determination to make the full run to super-stardom.

With the beautiful exterior comes a performer and songwriter of noteworthy depth as well as the surprisingly untraditional country music pedigree of being born and raised in Minnesota—far off the average southern track of her contemporaries in the 2012 industry freshman class. She grew up on a farm in southern Minnesota, the youngest of four and the only girl.

“I decided to move to Nashville in the fall of 2011,” Angie noted in a recent interview. “I loved my family and growing up on the farm –I was involved in piano, dance, 4-H and every sport possible but I knew since I was very young that I wanted to have a career in music.”

Influenced in her music by artists as eclectic as Shania Twain, Kelly Clarkston, and Patsy Cline, Angela stopped off to gather her college degree in music on the way to the pursuit of her dreams.

Her song selection on “Bittersweet” paints both rich self-portraits of her own life experiences and emotions, as well as addressing issues she hopes to bring light to bear on—from suicide and human trafficking to a bonus track “He Smiles” –the proceeds from which Angela is earmarking for cancer related charities. Aware of the platform for good causes that celebrity can bring, Angela is an artist on a mission beyond stardom. “I care about people,” she notes, “and I want to make this world a better place for everyone.”

At 23, with dedication and a commitment to her career center-stage, Angela is poised to be a major influencer in this new season in country music. Passionate about being close to her support base, her social media stats attest to a rapidly building fan base and plans for a fall radio tour in support of the new album promise to introduce her music to an even wider listenership.

As for long term goals, Angie's wish list is simple: Her own hit songs on the Billboard charts, touring with her own band, and taking a few CMA Awards for the Minnesota home-team!
