“THE LAST RIDE”
The Movie of Hank Williams' Last 72 Hours
Earns Early Acclaim
Movie called “fascinating”, “engaging” and “deeply interesting”
Jett Williams and Benjy Gaither to perform on Huckabee on Fox News June 30th
Jett Williams and Benjy Gaither to perform on Huckabee on Fox News June 30th
Nashville, Tenn. (June 29, 2012) – The early reviews are in for The Last Ride, a new film about the final days in the life of country music icon Hank Williams.Variety called it “an engaging road trip” and said Hank Williams is “persuasively played by Henry Thomas.”
The New York Daily News described Williams’ music as “eloquent” and “mesmerizing”.
New York Observer said, “It’s a fascinating film that I enjoyed thoroughly.”
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette called it “A deeply interesting movie.”
Oxford American Magazine editor, Mark Smirnoff, says the The Last Ride is “A hypnotic romp about what is possibly country music’s most tantalizing true story.”
Terry Stewart, CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame says, “Finally, we get a compelling glimpse of both the man and the legend”
The movie, starring Henry Thomas, Jesse James, Fred Dalton Thompson and Kaley Cuoco, focuses on the period when Williams was getting his life back in order after drugs, alcohol, and two failed marriages had nearly ruined his career. In late 1952, Williams had arranged several shows in West Virginia and Ohio. But, he never got there. Somewhere on that last highway, the country music legend passed away on New Year’s Day, in 1953, in the back of his Cadillac, carrying only his guitar and a notebook full of unfinished songs. He was 29.
The Last Ride was inspired by those mysterious last days of Williams’ life.
The movie’s soundtrack adds to the character of the film with songs from the era sung by popular artists of today, including Jett Williams, the daughter of Hank Williams.
Jett Williams, Benjy Gaither (the producer of the soundtrack) and Harry Thomason (the film’s director) will appear on Gov. Mike Huckabee’s syndicated radio show June 30th and July 1st at 8 pm Eastern / 7 pm Central and again on July 1st at 11 pm Eastern / 10 pm Central.
Jett and Benjy will appear on HUCKABEE on the Fox News Channel at 8 pm Eastern / 7 Central on Saturday, June 30th and will perform the Hank Williams classic “Hey Good Looking” with Governor Huckabee.
The Last Ride is currently in a one week exclusive engagement at the Cinema Village Theater in New York, to be followed by a national showcase theatrical release.
The Curb Records release of The Last Ride soundtrack is now available at www.amazonmp3.com or at iTunes.

Interview with Kayleigh Leith
Lamitschka: How was the last year for you? What were your highlights?
Kayleigh Leith: I had an absolute fantastic year! The release of my album was like the most amazing feeling ever. To work so hard on it, and then to set it free and out into the world was like WOW! I played a lot of really cool shows. The one show that will stick out for me forever was playing the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville,TN. It was everything I thought it was going to be. I played a few places in Nashville as well and wrote some new songs for my second album I am working on! Played loads of radio shows and festivals as well here in the Netherlands. Next stop? Germany and hopefully the USA again soon!!!
Lamitschka: What is your latest CD and how's it doing?
Kayleigh Leith: My latest CD is Miles Away. It’s doing really well. The songs are being played on the radio in over 15 countries and has gotten great reviews all over the world. It’s already 8 months old, so the one year anniversary is coming up! I was so proud of that album. I can’t wait to get the second one out, haha, although I have a lot of work to do before that happens. But I am very busy with it right now.
Lamitschka: Do you write the songs yourself? If not, how do you go about finding the songs for your CD?
Kayleigh Leith: Yes, I write my songs myself, but I have found writing with others is an awesome experience as well! Sharing ideas and feelings and situations rocks! You start to see that everyone feels just like you do and it takes songwriting for me to a whole new level of love! I write about what I know or what I think I know, haha, and about things that affect me. It’s funny because this next album I am working on is totally my life right now, very autobiographical. I just love getting honest in my songs and playing with
Lamitschka: Your current single is being played by radio. What do you feel is special about this song that makes people want to hear it?
Kayleigh Leith: The first time I heard Miles Away on the radio I almost hit a huge truck in front of me. I was in my car and had tears in my eyes. Hearing your song on the radio is a crazy feeling. It’s like you have the world in your hand and everyone is listening to you. I think a lot of people can relate to Miles Away because we all miss someone no matter where we are and it’s not easy to make big decisions without hurting people. But I always say you can’t stay in one place for the sake of someone else, no matter how much you love them.
Lamitschka: What is your favorite song among all the songs you have recorded and what's the story behind it?
Kayleigh Leith: Actually my favorite song I’ve ever written isn’t on the album, It’s one I wrote back in March this year when I was in Nashville. I have a demo version of it, but it isn’t officially released. The song is called, Feels Like Letting Go. This is like my song of songs. It’s so weird because I had a writing session my last night in Nashville and I so didn’t want to go. Not because I didn’t want to write, but because I was just hanging out in the city with other singer-songwriters I met in my week there and I was so sad to leave the city and go back to my hotel. I took a cab to my writing session and went in the writing session with a one liner written in my notebook. It said, Feels like Letting Go. Within like 10 minutes I had written a whole chorus and one verse, then the second verse came and I just started singing. I sang exactly how I felt and I don’t think I have ever been so honest about myself in any song I have ever written and it’s exactly how I’ve been feeling about everything lately. How to let go while still hanging on?
Lamitschka: How much creative control do you have over your music?
Kayleigh Leith: I make all the final decisions. I say that with confidence because I have to love it first. I put my heart and soul in my songs and I want to make sure they sound the way I want them. I am always open to feedback and growth, but I like to make the final decision.
Lamitschka: As an artist, you so many tasks such as recording, touring, interviews. What do you like best, what's your favorite activity?
Kayleigh Leith: My favorite thing to do is play. I can play all day long for everyone. I don’t like recording much because I over think everything I do. I like it all Live! Live shows, live interviews, Live live live. Being in the moment of emotions and presence.
Lamitschka: Are you doing anything to take music beyond its current borders or are you happy where it is?
Kayleigh Leith: I am always looking to go beyond what I am doing now. That’s mainly because I love challenges and pushing my limits. I think we all have so much potential, why not take it as far as you can. I like to experiment as long as it still remains my sound. One thing I would like to do this year and 2013 is to broaden my reach in Germany. Play more shows and festivals in Germany because you guys have a great country scene and I love the German people.
Lamitschka: Before you became a star, were your friends and family supportive or was it a struggle?
Kayleigh Leith: I don’t consider myself a star, that kinda made me chuckle. I am a person just like everyone else who just dares to dream a dream and make what I want come true. Some people are afraid to do what they want because they don’t want to fail. I think not trying makes me fail; trying definitely qualifies you as successful in my opinion. Everyone in my life has been super supportive and I feel very blessed for that.
10. Lamitschka: What moments in your career stand out in your memory as highlights and achievements which you are proud of?
Kayleigh Leith: I am very proud to have played in Nashville and to have had so many opportunities to write with such amazing songwriters. I also played a lot of radio shows to promote my album and met lots of amazing people on the way. I just heard my album is also nominated for album of the year by the Dutch Country Music Association. This alone is an honor. I like to say, it’s not about the destination, it’s all about the journey for me, and so far I have been on the best ride ever!
Lamitschka: Is there any place you haven't played that you would like to?
Kayleigh Leith: I would love to play in Texas. I’ve never been there, and that alone makes me want to go and discover! I heard so many great stories from people who have been to play and I would like to see what it’s all about! Who knows, maybe one day!
Lamitschka: When you get time off, how do you like to relax?
Kayleigh Leith: I love to take my mountain bike out and ride with my husband. We love cycling. I also love yoga and meditation; it keeps me balanced and feeling refreshed and open. I’m also a bit of a nerd and love researching about the food I eat, nutrition and the human body amaze me.
Lamitschka: Many music fans today get their information about artists online. Do you have your own website and what will fans find there?
Kayleigh Leith: I sure do! To find more information about me, you can check my website at www.kayleighleith.com. I am also on all the social media websites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. So everyone go to www.facebook.com/kayleighleithmusic, click like and send me a message. I look forward to meeting you all online or at a show one day! See you soon!

Nashville, TN (June 28, 2012) Josh Trivett and Peter Keiser with Moonstruck Management are proud to announce they have signed Grand Ole Opry star, BOBBY OSBORNE for exclusive booking and management representation. "What an honor it was receiving news that the legendary Bobby Osborne was interested in working with us at Moonstruck! Bobby has been one of the great legends over the last several decades in the country and bluegrass worlds. His tenor singing is one of the most recognizable voices in the history of the music. We were thrilled to accept this opportunity to work with a Grand Ole Opry member and a legend,” said Josh Trivett. Moonstruck Management is a modern music management company that focuses on the country and bluegrass music business, incorporating artist development, management, growth, and booking into one controlled business.
BOBBY OSBORNE recorded his first hit in 1949 and received his membership in The Grand Ole Opry in 1964. There is no doubt Bobby has been one of the most influential singers and mandolin players in the history of Bluegrass and Country music. He was inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2002, inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Hall of Fame (Lonesome Pine Fiddlers) in 2009, and has recorded two State songs - “Rocky Top (Tennessee)” and “Kentucky” (Kentucky).
BOBBY OSBORNE & THE ROCKY TOP X-PRESS are celebrating their current Rural Rhythm Records’ album, I’M GOING BACK TO THE MOUNTAIN that includes the talents of: Bobby Osborne (Lead Vocal, Mandolin); Bobby Osborne, Jr. (Baritone Vocal, Acoustic Bass); Glen Duncan (Low Tenor Vocal, Fiddle); Michael Toppins (6-Sring Banjo); Joe Miller (Guitar) and produced by Bobby Osborne, Glen Duncan, and Bobby Osborne, Jr.
“He was the first person to craft a style not based on Monroe style mandolin playing. Bobby’s mandolin style reflected his love of the fiddle, and electric guitar playing of Hank Garland and Grady Martin. So what we see with Bobby Osborne, is a singer and instrumentalist who always saw himself as part of the County Music business. There was no separation between the styles, Bluegrass hadn’t yet become a genre onto itself, it was all just part of Country Music,” wrote Glen Duncan from the liner notes of the BOBBY OSBORNE & THE ROCK TOP X-PRESS album MEMORIES: Celebrating Bobby’s 60th Anniversary as a Professional Entertainer on Rural Rhythm Records.
BOBBY OSBORNE & THE ROCK TOP X-PRESS are currently on tour including performances at: July 13-14 at the High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival in Westcliff, CO July 13-14; Grand Ole Opry on July 20; Rogersville Bluegrass Festival in Rogersville, AL on July 21; Rockygrass in Lyons, CO on July 28 and many more. Justin Moore Inks Exclusive Deal With Cabela’s
Nashville, TN--- Cabela’s --the World’s Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear-- is kicking off the summer with the announcement of a multi-year endorsement and sponsorship of Valory Music Co. recording artist Justin Moore. As one of today’s most promising stars, this “Bait A Hook” crooner has already shared the road with some of the hottest names in music, including Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker and Blake Shelton. The 2011 release of Outlaws Like Me garnered critical success and his second #1 hit with “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away,” the fastest rising single of his career. This straight-talking country powerhouse has grown to become the voice of small town America and prides himself on writing and recording music that reflects his simple upbringing in rural Arkansas.
The announcement marks Cabela’s first ever partnership with an artist. As part of the endorsement, Cabela’s will be the official outdoor apparel and gear retailer for Justin’s tour throughout 2012 and 2013. With his life-long passion for fishing, hunting and all things outdoors this partnership will serve as a natural fit for his ever-expanding brand.
“I’ve always tried to partner with people and companies that I respect,” says Moore. “I couldn’t be happier to be associated with a company like Cabela’s. The lifestyle that they promote and embrace is an exact reflection of how I grew up and how I intend to raise my family. I respect and admire the folks from Cabela’s immensely. It should be a lot of fun and hopefully, together, we can reach the next goals we each have in place.”
“Justin embodies the Cabela’s lifestyle, which he is able to communicate through his songs,” said Scott Williams, Cabela’s EVP and Chief Marketing and E Commerce Officer. “He is true to the outdoorsman who simply loves – and appreciates—hunting and fishing. It was clear from Day 1 Justin shares our passion for the Great Outdoors. He is a down-to-earth Cabela’s kind of guy and Cabela’s is honored to have him aboard.”
Moore has never shied away from proudly honoring his country roots. When his sophomore album Outlaws Like Me was released last summer, his team choose to take an innovative approach in the promotion. Live from the middle of New York City’s Central Park lake, he conducted his radio, television, online and print interviews aboard a bass boat. For this small town boy who has had the opportunity to travel all across the country, no place felt more natural for him than the outdoors to promote the release of an album that celebrates the lifestyle he leads.
Cabela’s stores showcase thousands of quality outdoor products, including hunting, fishing, camping and hiking, as well as clothing and outdoor-themed gifts and furnishings. Cabela’s, which has been in business since 1961, is famous for its strong brand and legendary customer service. The company’s retail locations are designed to surround customers in an outdoor-like experience, featuring museum-quality wildlife displays. Additionally, the cabelas.com website provides convenient access to all Cabela’s merchandise, and Cabela’s world-famous catalog is distributed to millions of customers in all 50 states and more than 175 countries.
ABOUT JUSTIN MOORE: Justin Moore’s star has grown significantly since he was named Billboard's “Top New Country Artist of 2009.” This Southern Country stylist has sold over 3.1 million digital downloads to date and his sophomore album OUTLAWS LIKE ME hit the #1 spot the week it was released. OUTLAWS LIKE ME includes the fastest-rising single of Moore’s career, “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away,” which ascended to the #1 spot and the fan favorite, “Bait A Hook.” His debut album scored three consecutive smash singles (the #1“Small Town USA” as well as the hits “Backwoods” and “How I Got To Be This Way”). He has been profiled by publications from The Washington Post, People Country and Billboard to USA Today. COURT RULES IN FAVOR OF CURB RECORDS’ MOTION RE: TIM MCGRAWNashville, Tenn. (June 28, 2012) The Court in Nashville has ruled in favor of Curb Records in a chapter of its lawsuit against Tim McGraw -- in which, among other things, Curb Records contends that Tim is still under contract because he has not provided his Fifth Option Period Album. The Court granted Curb Records’ request to postpone the trial until it has the opportunity to take additional evidence surrounding Big Machine Records’ signing of Tim and when the 20 recordings Big Machine says it will release were made. In addition, the Court of Appeals will soon hear the appeal of the Nashville trial judge’s earlier ruling in which he found that, while it appeared Tim may have breached his Recording Agreement and had failed to deliver the Fifth Option Period Album, he would not issue an injunction pending the trial to prevent Tim from signing with a new record company until he had fulfilled his commitments to Curb Records. The Court found that even though he did not enjoin Tim from signing with another company, Tim may be liable for his failure to perform. The Court of Appeals will determine whether an injunction should have been issued.
While Big Machine Records has announced that it had signed Tim McGraw and would be releasing an album apparently from those “20 new recordings,” Curb Records believes, and has asked the Court to find, that Tim remains under contract and the “20 recordings” belong to Curb, as they were recorded during the term of Curb’s Recording Agreement.
Until now, Curb Records has not publicly commented on the lawsuit with Tim McGraw and the misinformation that has been reported regarding the lawsuit. It is important to set the record straight and make clear why there is a lawsuit with Tim.
Tim has signed three different contracts with Curb Records, electing to re-sign with Curb Records two additional times. In Tim’s third and current contract, he agreed to record six option albums. As a gesture, Curb agreed to reduce his option albums in exchange for Tim honoring the contract regarding the remaining five albums. In his contract, Tim agreed to record the albums during specified periods of time. These provisions, standard in the record industry, are designed for obvious reasons. They give record labels adequate time to market and promote an album and its singles and they prevent an artist from recording multiple albums at once, ensuring that the music is always fresh. Tim also agreed that he and Curb Records, together, would agree on the songs which appear on those albums.
Ignoring these contract provisions, Tim commenced recording virtually all the songs which are embodied on the Emotional Traffic project even before the 2009 release of his previous album (Southern Voice) and without consulting Curb Records as to the contents of this record.
When asked to provide an album which met the terms of the contract, Tim refused. Only then did Curb Records ask the Court to resolve this matter, as it believes that Tim has not fulfilled his contract.
Unlike what has been reported, and as is obvious from the Court’s rulings, Tim has not won the lawsuit.
Curb Records believes that:
- Tim McGraw is still an artist on Curb Records’ label;
- That Big Machine had no right to sign Tim McGraw until his contract with Curb Records
- That the “new music” advertised by Tim McGraw and Big Machine, or that Big Machine
- When the Court does rule, it will agree that Tim McGraw has breached his Recording
Finally, Tim has stated publicly and to the Court that Emotional Traffic is the best album he has
ever recorded. His latest single from that album, “Right Back Atcha Babe,” has recently been
released by Curb Records.
