LOUISIANA BALL in Sachsen am 11. und 12. Mai 2012
B. von Erich Clapton, John Denver, Sunny & Cher, The Doors u.a.: www.struch-music.de.
Letzte Band am Freitag war >Saffer & The Jukes<, www.myspace.com/stefansaffer. Diese 7köpfige Gruppe hatte eine große Fangemeinde mitgebracht. Sie spielten u. a.
B. >Rock Me, Mama<.
See you there!

peermusic Writer Neil Thrasher Celebrates Rascal Flatts #1 with "Banjo"
Shares Special Moment with His Parents!!
Nashville, TN (Friday, June 15, 2012) ASCAP and BMI Nashville hosted a #1 Party this week at Puckett's in downtown Nashville to celebrate Rascal Flatts' latest #1 at Country radio, "Banjo." The song marks their 14th #1 song at Country radio and the group's first #1 with Big Machine Label Group.
peermusic's Neil Thrasher co-wrote the lead single from the band's current album CHANGED, with fellow songwriters Wendell Mobley and Tony Martin. The honor was made even more special for Thrasher because his parents Betty Lane and Joe were on hand to celebrate his success, even when a table of "heckler's" in the audience, which consisted of Gary, Joe Don and Jay, shouted out to him..."hey, thanks for dressing up for us!" to which the audience exploded with laughter. Thrasher was not the only person during the celebration who caught a zinger or two from the jovial bunch.
"We couldn't be happier to have Neil as a part of the peermusic family and celebrating this current success with him makes it all the sweeter," says Kevin Lamb, Vice President/ peermusic Nashville.
"This is Neil's third #1 song this year!! His other two #1's are "Tattoos on This Town" and "Fly Over States" recorded by Jason Aldean," says Michael Knox, Producer/Sr. Creative Director/ peermusic Nashville.
A Birmingham native, Thrasher grew up surrounded by music. His father was a member of the gospel group the Thrasher Brothers, (who were inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 2005,) and he soon followed in his father’s footsteps, moving to Nashville and pursuing his own music career. In 1996 he signed to Atlantic Records as part of the duo Thrasher Shiver and began landing cuts for other artists like Diamond Rio and Billy Ray Cyrus that same year.
Over the past decade Thrasher has penned hits for Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Montgomery Gentry, Carrie Underwood and Trace Adkins, among others. He won the Gospel Music Association Country Song of the Year Award in 2010 for his song “Somebody Like Me,” which was recorded by Christian artist Jason Crabb. "Banjo" marks Thrasher's 4th #1 song for Rascal Flatts! His other Rascal Flatts #1 songs include,
"Why Wait," which is also a peermusic song, "Fast Cars and Freedom" and "Take Me There"

THE BAND PERRY WRAPS A WHIRLWIND CMA MUSIC FEST
ABC Captures The Trio’s Moves From The CMT Music Awards To Their CMA Music Fest LP Field Performance & Co-Hosting Duties And A Tour Stop In Chicago
NASHVILLE, TN (June 14, 2012)—Named as one of the hardest-working bands in country music, The Band Perry definitely put that title to the test last week, experiencing their busiest CMA Music Festival ever ... with the ABC-TV cameras on hand to catch most of the fun! Exhibiting a surplus of energy – or adrenaline – the brothers and sister trio kicked off the week with performance and presentation slots on Wednesday night’s CMT Music Awards.
On Thursday morning, they hosted their first-ever fan club party for 200 fans before making a surprise appearance on The Buckle Stage to help The Grand Ole Opry raise funds for the Opry Fund by auctioning a specially-decorated guitar autographed by the band. On Friday evening, the sibling trio performed a full set on the main stage at LP Field for CMA Music Fest attendees then boarded their bus for Chicago, where they opened for Brad Paisley on Saturday night at Wrigley Field. Following the Paisley tour date, the three returned to Nashville, where they greeted fans at the BMLG Booth in Fan Fair Hall.
In between all of those activities, Kimberly (with help from brothers Reid and Neil) also hosted various segments of the upcoming ABC network TV special, “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock,” along with co-host Luke Bryan. The special is slated to air on September 17 at 8 p.m. EDT.
Undoubtedly, The Band Perry’s highlight of the week was their Fan Club party, which was held at the Hard Rock Café in downtown Nashville, just steps away from the rest of the action. Making the fans the star for the day, the band rolled out the red carpet and let the fans experience a little of the celebrity life first-hand at the special event. Fans did interviews with camera crews and posed for individual photos with Kimberly, Reid and Neil, in between bites of scrumptious cupcakes and other delicious goodies at the vintage, "country-chic" themed party.
The Band Perry also unveiled their brand new fan club – “The Fans Perry” (www.thefansperry.com) – inducting their guests as the inaugural members and honored some special fans with TBP statues, including their sweet grandmother Betty Lou, who was named the band’s “Number One Fan.”
“This award is like Entertainer of the Year,” said Kimberly, as she hugged her grandma in front of the packed house. “The ‘Number One Fan’ award will now be officially titled ‘The Betty Lou Award.’”
The host and crew from the Travel Channel’s new show “Trip Flip” were on hand to capture all the action at the Perry party, surprising a lucky couple and getting them a front-row seat at the event as part of their “flipped trip” CMA Music Fest experience. ABC-TV also documented the occasion for a special “Day in the Life” piece on the band that will be included in the "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night To Rock" special.
Neil, Kimberly and Reid pose for photos during their #1 Fan Club Party.
The Band Perry honored fans with a specially designed "TBP Trophy" during the awards segment of their fan club party.
The Band Perry, Reid, Neil and Kimberly make a surprise appearance and join WSM'-AM''s Bill Cody for the Opry's guitar auction at CMA Music Fest.
The Band Perry catches up with their hero Alan Jackson backstage at the CMT Music Awards.
The Band Perry, Reid, Kimberly and Neil interview with ABC "Good Morning America's" Cameron Mathison, along with Luke Bryan on the Red Carpet in Fan Fair Hall.
The Band Perry greets lucky fans at the BMLG Booth in Fan Fair Hall at CMA Music Festival.
The three have been hard at work on their brand new album with producer Rick Rubin, who produced the last five albums that Johnny Cash ever recorded. The project is due out later this year on Republic Nashville.

THOMPSON SQUARE BECOMES FIRST ARTIST IN HISTORY TO LAND TWO MUSIC VIDEOS FOR THE SAME SINGLE ON GAC’S TOP 20 COUNTRY COUNTDOWN “GLASS” EARNS DOUBLE DIGIT SALES INCREASE FOR 5TH CONSECUTIVE WEEK AT ITUNES ACM VOCAL DUO OF THE YEAR FEATURED IN PEOPLE COUNTRY On Stands Now (NASHVILLE, TN) – The fan-voted accolades continue to roll in for Stoney Creek Records duo Thompson Square. This week, Thompson Square becomes the first Country act in history to land two music videos for the same song inside the GAC Top 20 Country Countdown. Fans have voted both music videos for the hit single, “Glass,” up the Great American Country network’s video chart to land at #5 and at #17. The reigning ACM Vocal Duo of the Year filmed two videos for the Top 20 and rising single, “Glass,” simply because the married duo couldn’t make the decision between a black and white or full-color visual interpretation of the song. “We can never agree on anything,” Keifer Thompson said upon the release of the second music video. “Shawna wanted a color video and I wanted a black and white video. We figured, why argue about it? We can do both.” The initially released music video for “Glass,” was directed by Roman White (Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson) in classic, black-and-white and currently sits at #5 on the GAC Top 20 Countdown. The full color follow-up video for “Glass” - otherwise known as “Glass (Version T2)” -- was directed by Wes Edwards (“Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” & “I Got You”) and rests at #17 on the GAC Top 20 Countdown. Watch both videos here: http://www.gactv.com/gac/ar_az_thompson_square Also this week, Thompson Square’s “Glass” saw a double-digit sales increase at iTunes for the 5th consecutive week, solidifying that the song has become the GRAMMY nominated act’s third bonafide smash single in a row. In fact, “Glass,” sales will overtake the pair’s previous Top 10 hit, “I Got You” in a matter of weeks. Just last week fans voted Thompson Square’s, “I Got You,” the winner of the “Duo Video of the Year” award at the 2012 CMT Music Awards. Additionally, the former husband/ wife bartending team is featured in the current issue of People Country magazine. Shawna and Keifer Thompson visited the rooftop Bookmarks Lounge at the Library Hotel on their last trip to New York, sharing their favorite summer cocktail recipes with the editors of People Country for a three-page “The Good Life” spread. Exclusive photos, interview and Thompson Square’s personal drink recipes can be found in the July 2012 issue of the magazine, on stands now. The reigning ACM “Vocal Duo of the Year,” Thompson Square has earned an astounding list of accolades in its first year and a half on the Country music scene. The husband/wife duo’s #1 smash, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not,” earned them 2 GRAMMY Nominations as well as an American Music Award nom, 2 CMA noms, 5 CMT Music Award nominations, a Nationwide “Best New Live Act” nomination as well as a 2012 Teen Choice Award nomination for “Choice Country Group.” Keifer and Shawna Thompson are also winners of 3 fan-voted American Country Awards as well as the 2012 CMT Music Award for “Duo Video of the Year.” “AYGKMON” is nearing Double Platinum sales status, was the #1 Digital Soundscan Single for 5 weeks straight, the #1 Country Ringtone for 12 consecutive weeks and was iTunes’ 2011 Country Song of the Year. Thompson Square’s whirlwind year has seen them on national tours supporting Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum as well as gracing the stages of The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Conan, Fox & Friends All American Concert Series and the 45th Annual CMA Awards. Thompson Square (or T2) ended 2011 as Billboard’s #1 New Country Artist in terms of digital sales and the #6 New Artist across all genres. Thompson Square is currently on tour with Lady Antebellum’s “Own the Night World Tour,” which takes the duo to Canada this week with stops in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. The 2012 Teen Choice Awards - where Thompson Square is nominated for “Choice Country Group” -- airs on FOX on Sunday, July 22nd. Voting is live now at: http://www.teenchoiceawards.com For more information on Thompson Square visit www.thompsonsquare.com

Hello fellow players, Bigsby steel guitars are now selling for prices all over the board. I have seen them as high as $40,000 down to as low as $10,000. I have some in stock for very low prices. The reason the prices vary is because I am about the only one I know that can do an original pedal setup on this guitar with the cables and original parts. This is the only way to have a Bigsby. They can be setup to play very quietly and smooth with very little pedal pressure. We can also set them up to do anything with pedals. We have got two guitars on the Bigsby bench right now having pedal setups installed. Naturally if you need an extremely complicated pedal setup, the price can be quite a bit higher. A simple pedal setup is one that involves only two pedal pulls and one that doesnt do a lot of raise and lower. There is no limit to what we can do with pedals. We will always use new aircraft cable and new pulleys. Of course you know this applies to Clinesmith also. The Clinesmith guitar I endorse whole-heartedly. I have two double tens in my personal guitars and they are personal favorites. They have replaced excellent Sho-Buds in my collection and also replaced the Bigsby. If anybody on this newsletter would like to see both of my guitars, Ill be glad to get good pictures of both of them. They are the same except one has an aluminum necks and one has wooden necks. If you happen to have Bigsbys, I sincerely doubt that the pedal setup on it will be correct for you. Dont worry about buying a Clinesmith with any pedal setup you want on it. If you need to know how to contact Todd Clinesmith, contact him on the internet at www.clinesmithinstruments.com Many people seem to have really enjoyed the letter from Bruce Zumsteg and I did myself. Hes a fine gentleman and a very brilliant designer. As a matter of fact, he may seriously be the smartest man I know when it comes to building steel guitars in this day and time. I sincerely have much admiration for him. It seems like many of you out there agree with me. We just got a big shipment of GFI steel guitars in stock so I hope we have anything that any of you could ask for. This seems to be the most prominent and prolific steel guitar that we have had over the years. Like Bruce Zumsteg and Del Mullen, we love and will only deal with the highest caliber folks in the business and Gene Fields definitely rates as high as anybody weve ever dealt with. Like myself, Gene has learned to type with more than one finger at a time, an advantage he has over me, because he still has all his fingers. These men that Ive mentioned in this newsletter are all presidents of their own steel guitar companies. I want to remind you about our "Thank God Fan Fair Is Over" and "Father's Day" double sale. That's 10 percent off our already discounted prices so you save double. Ten percent off all new GFI and all used guitars in stock. Free shipping within the 48 continental United States on all guitars. Free shipping within the 48 continental United States and free amp cover on all Peavey Nashville 112 amplifiers. (Nashville, TN-6.13.12) Allen Karl, Century II Records recording artist has done it again. When the fiddles and steel guitars are no longer heard on the major radio stations across the country, Allen has come to the rescue for country radio DJ’s with his new single “As Sure As I’m Standing Here,” written by Hall of Fame songwriter, Jerry Foster. Allen has never walked backwards on his love of traditional music, and from the first note to the last note of this new single, he has brought new life into what country music has been missing for the past 10 years. He has kept his promise to keep his music country and this song defines what country should be.
To make this song even more powerful is the Hall of Fame group of musicians Allen assembled to make this record even more special. Pete Wade-guitar, Lloyd Green-steel guitar, Bob Moore-bass, Gene Chrisman-Drums, Buddy Spicher-fiddle, and Hargus “Pig” Robbins on piano. A great performance, with Hall of Fame production of most of the original “A-Team” musicians.
Allen Karl has won more awards worldwide than most artists in the country music industry and he continues to rack up #1’s, and with this new release he will surely add to his long list of hit records.
2011 was a super year for Allen, being awarded the Male Vocalist and Album of the Year by the European Country Music Association. Add to that his collaboration with his duet partner, Donna Cunningham on their gospel #1, “Jesus Heard Every Word,” plus their current new duet single “Your Name Is On My Lips Again,” which is climbing to #1 worldwide, and you are witnessing a great success story. 2012 and 2013 are no doubt filled with great new music from Allen with a new project, touring in Europe, more duets with Donna Cunningham, and great country music for his fans and all of his DJ’s friends.
Country Music has a history, and Allen Karl is a major part of its history because he has been true to his love of the music, when you hear this new single, “As Sure As I’m Standing Here.”
ALLEN LOVES HIS “COUNTRY.”
