WADE BOWEN PLANS RELEASE OF 10-SONG FAN DRIVEN DISC THE GIVEN ON MAY 29

SINGER/SONGWRITER WADE BOWEN PLANS RELEASE OF
10-SONG FAN DRIVEN DISC THE GIVEN ON MAY 29

New Music Precedes The Full Length Major Label Debut

Nashville, TN – May 7, 2012 – Award winning singer/songwriter Wade Bowen has spent the last 14 years making a living of 200-plus nights a year on the road with developing his fan base one show at a time.  Caught somewhere between a “new” artist working on his major label debut and a proven road veteran with five independently released albums, Bowen and Sea Gayle/BNA Records are responding to fan demand for new music by releasing a 10-song collection THE GIVEN on May 29, 2012.

The new music will be available at all digital music retailers and in select brick and mortar stores. As an added bonus, Bowen will give fans full-access to the recording process by offering the work tapes from the writers' room of several of the new tracks exclusively on www.wadebowen.com beginning release day.

“The album is called The Given because I feel like all of these amazing opportunities have been given to me by my fans," explains Bowen.  “They are the reason I get to live my dream every night and they’ve been patiently waiting almost three years now for new music.  So, I’m excited to be able to say ‘here it comes and there’s more on the way!’ I’m so blessed that they’ve stuck with me and that I have a great team at the label who is willing to let me throw the rules out and get this special version for the fans out right away.”

“With the fan base that Wade has already built, it only makes sense to throw out conventional wisdom and make this great new album available to his thousands of loyal fans as soon as possible,” said Sony Music Nashville Chairman and CEO Gary Overton.

Produced by Justin Niebank, the 10-song disc reflects Bowen’s evolving vision as a songwriter, his independent spirit and smoky baritone voice. Newcomers will hear a head-turning road-tested country artist with range. In addition to nine songs that include Bowen’s name in the writing credits, the album also includes a Townes Van Zandt cover of “To Live Is To Fly” featuring special guest vocals by Guy Clark.

THE GIVEN Track List:

1.  Saturday Night

2.  All That's Left

3.  A Battle Won

4.  Patch Of Bad Weather

5.  On My Way To Wonderful

6.  Say Anything

7.  You Ain't Got Me

8.  Beat Me Down

9.  To Live Is To Fly (Featuring Guy Clark)

10. Before These Walls Were Blue

With nine No. one’s on the Texas Music Chart, multiple awards including 2009 Texas Music Awards’ Male Vocalist of the Year and the 2010 Lone Star Music Awards’ Live Act of the Year, three studio albums and a Live At Billy Bob’s CD/DVD combo at the iconic club in Fort Worth under his belt, Bowen’s new music isn’t a debut, more like a fresh start on a bigger stage. His calling toward authentic music that reaches people is not unique to any geography, it lives in the heart and the work of the artist. Those who’ve believed in Bowen all along will find this in THE GIVEN and the upcoming albums and tours to follow. For more info and a full list of tour dates, visit www.wadebowen.com.

Of Monsters And Men
Of Monsters And Men stürmen mit "My Head Is An Animal" direkt auf Platz 4 in die deutschen Albumcharts

Und nun ist auch Deutschland Of Monsters And Men verfallen.

Hier kann man in das Album "My Head Is An Animal" hineinhören.

Jake Owen Marries Lacey Buchanan In Sunrise Ceremony Today

Jake Owen is a married man! Just one month after popping the question on stageduring a concert, the country star tied the knot with Lacey Buchanan in a barefoot (but no blue jeans) ceremony.
The "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" singer and his model wife said "I do" at a sunrise ceremony today (May 7) on the beach in Jake's hometown of Vero Beach, Fla. They were surrounded by only family members, with Lacey's sister serving as her maid of honor and Jake's twin brother as the best man. According to People magazine, the bride wore an Amsale gown, while the groom sported a white linen shirt and drawstring pants.

Miranda Lambert and Ashton Kutcher Play Nice at the Derby

Miranda Lambert and Ashton Kutcher Play Nice at the Derby

Looks like the feud between Miranda Lambert and Ashton Kutcher has been squashed.  Miranda tweeted this picture of her and Ashton hugging it out at the Derby’s Barnstable Brown party Friday evening. Via @Miranda_Lambert:  @aplusk here it is y’all. He is sweet and lives country music! For real!:) and he likes randaritas!” This was the first time the two have a chance to meet in person after Kutcher’s appearance at the ACM Awards where he was decked out in a cowboy hat and western wear. He presented Lambert with the top female vocalist award. Afterward Miranda tweeted, “Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me?” Kutcher replied that he’s “one of the biggest country music fans” and “wasn’t making fun at all.”

Brad Paisley Extends His Tour, Adds 'Escape Stage'

Andy Griffith Show Cast Member George Lindsey Dies At 83

George Lindsey, who spent nearly 30 years as the grinning Goober on "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Hee Haw," has died. He was 83. A press release from Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home in Nashville says Lindsay died early yesterday morning after a brief illness. Funeral arrangements were still being made. Lindsey was the beanie-wearing Goober on "The Andy Griffith Show" from 1964 to 1968 and its successor, "Mayberry RFD," from 1968 to 1971. He played the same jovial character -- a service station attendant -- on "Hee Haw" from 1971 until it went out of production in 1993.

Carrie Underwood Heads Down Under for Blown Away

Carrie Underwood will head overseas this summer to perform for the first time headline concert dates in Australia and the United Kingdom in late June to coincide with the release of her new album BLOWN AWAY. The new CD was released May 4 in Australia, and a special UK edition will be released there on June 18. These international shows on “The Blown Away Tour” are sponsored by Olay. Carrie’s UK show, which sold out in 90 minutes, will be held at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall on June 21. Her Australia tour dates will take her to Melbourne, Tamworth, Brisbane, and Sydney, wrapping at the iconic Sydney Opera House. Carrie made her first promotional visit to Australia last summer in support of the release of PLAY ON: DELUXE EDITION, which went on to reach Gold certification status in Australia.

Jake Owen Closes Out Cinco de Mayo in Cuffs

Jake Owen had himself quite the Cinco de Mayo. The country star was arrested in his hometown of Vero Beach, Fla., and while it's not exactly clear what he did wrong, it likely had something to do with alcohol. "Whats the big deal about Cinco De Mayo," he tweeted at one point in the day. "I've been drinking my ass off Everydayo of Mayo." In subsequent tweets, the "Alone With You" singer detailed a series of events that culminated with him in police custody. "I just got arrested in my hometown," he tweeted, including a photo of himself in white shorts with his hands cuffed behind his back.
"I was wearing an old man mask and the sheriff decided to rip me out of Steak And Shake and embarrass me in front of my family," he wrote in a since-deleted Twitter post, Taste of Country reports. "Classic."  He followed that up with a rant -- also erased from his timeline -- about the police. "You give a guy a gun and a badge and he thinks he's John Wayne," Jake wrote, later adding, "I'm calling it a night. My mom cried. My Dad was embarrassed."
Overall, we would say it's been quite the weekend for Jake!

ON THE ROAD WITH BOB & SHEILA EVERHART MAY 7. 2012

ON THE ROAD WITH BOB & SHEILA EVERHART
Anita, Iowa....."Things sure were popping at the Oak Tree Opry in Anita, Iowa for our last show," Sheila Everhart, the bass player for the Smithsonian duo Bob & Sheila, said.  "We had a completely full house to see the Dale Eichor (KWMT radio), and his side-kick Bobby Awe.  They did such a remarkable job, and we had so much fun.  They brought with them an extraordinary fiddler, Jay Kelly from Atkinson, Nebraska.  He put the 'final' touch on some incredibly good classic and traditional country music.  Even the balcony was full, and that is usually where we put musicians and their spouses when they are not performing.  This time we even had some of the performers sitting on the stage waiting their turn, so it was an excellent night for us. David Green, the guitarist/vocalist who took Lee Muller's place, works on Fridays in Omaha, so it's difficult for him to get to us in time for the show, but he did, and performed a remarkable set of old-time country that just blew the audience away. We'd like to thank all the patrons that drove so far to be with us, especially those that brought their RV and camped at the State Park.  A ton of these folks had dinner at the Redwood Steakhouse.  Coming up for the Terry Smith concert on August 3rd, we have one group of 60 coming, not just for the show, but for 60 dinners at the Redwood Steakhouse.  Terry Smith has sold out his Aug 3rd show, but he's going to do a second one on Aug 4th to accommodate the overflow, and it's nearly half full now, so reservations will be required."
"Our next show," Bob added, "will be May 18th, featuring the incredible steel guitar player Curt Shoemaker.  This is the same steel player that played for Boxcar Willie, Martina McBride, Dottie West, Buck Trent, even Albert Brumley Jr.  So you know he's gotta be good.  It'll be a real pleasure to have him perform in the intimacy of our little opera house.  He makes his home in Kansas, but he travels back and forth between Nashville all the time to back superstars in country music."
"Our budget lunches are starting to look like 'stay-at-home eat-in's" Bobbie Lhea, the 15-year old daughter of the Everharts added.  "Dad didn't have to do anything for a budget lunch," Bobbie said, "Mom had to go to Atlantic for concession stand supplies for the Oak Tree, and brought back a delicious lunch from the HyVee Grocery Store.  Dad had fish, and mom and I had meatloaf, and they were complete dinners, and still within our budget limitation of three meals for under $20.  It was close, and we had to drink water, but it sure was good."
The Everharts record for the Smithsonian Institution, and six of those projects are now available at the Oak Tree Opry in CD form.  "Well, I cut these quite some time ago," Bob added, "and one is a Grammy nomination, but it's kind of neat to be able to get them from the Smithsonian now, in their own label and packaging.  Some of the material even includes some of my original songs.  'Time After Time' was my Grammy, and we had a request to sing it at the last show, so we did.  It went over really well, so thanks to everyone that listened to it so closely."
