Nashville, TN (April 9, 2012) -- Recently Average Joes' Montgomery Gentry joined TNA Wrestling’s "Cowboy" James Storm for a cameo appearance in his new video for “Longnecks and Rednecks." Knowing they are huge wrestling fans, Storm invited Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry to watch him wrestle in The Impact Zone in Orlando, FL. While waiting backstage to celebrate with their wrestling buddy, the platinum-selling duo got into a slight altercation with TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode during the taping of the top-rated Impact Wrestling on Spike TV.

Millions of wrestling fans witnessed TNA's Bobby Roode's vile act towards country music duo Montgomery Gentry on the Thursday, April 5 airing of TNA Wrestling, which resulted in a fight breaking out in the locker room area. Bobby Roode, Storms' "Lockdown 2012" opponent for the upcoming pay-per-view extravaganza, met Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry face-to-face. Roode's disapproval of the duo's friendship with Storm resulted in an altercation and Roode spitting his water in Gentry’s face. Immediately, a fight broke out with Eddie Montgomery's cowboy hat being ripped-off and thrown.

Steel Guitar News April 9. 2012

Hello fellow players,

Here it is a couple days after the big party. Many of you came and were here and a few of you weren’t. I’m fascinated in the interest so many of you had in history and the old steel guitars. I enjoyed seeing so many of you that showed up.

When David Jackson and I got a break, we went off and talked about the design of the new guitars. I am fascinated with the work David has done. These are wonderful machines, weigh very little, but are full sized and no compromises made between these and other guitars weighing much more.

I don’t know how many David sold here on the spot, but he seemed to be very pleased with the trip he made coming in.

The music by those sitting in was incredible. I must spotlight aggressive players such as the great Eddie Dunlap and Rusty Rhodes. Rusty played better than I’d ever heard him which I did not expect. I did expect Eddie to play well but not as well as he did.

Most of these boys played lead guitar also and did everything very tastefully on a Fender Telecaster. Either of these guys could be a lead guitar player in any group I’ve ever heard. They take a back seat to no one. I’m so proud of both of them. I don’t know how we did it but we sold several guitars and amps in the four hour period.

Next time we have one of these parties, you folks need to come by and see what you’re missing. We’ll have pictures and videos up in the next couple of days. Talk about fun, we had it!

Check out our monthly specials at and we’ll try to save you a lot of money.

Over the course of a solo career that has spanned the decades since he made his musical mark on popular music as the front man of the multi-platinum selling Men at Work, Colin Hay has never delivered a finer, more keenly honed solo set than Gathering Mercury. In response to fan demand, Hay is releasing a limited edition version of Gathering Mercury on 180 gram vinyl in time for Record Store Day 2012. This 2011 release reveals Hay’s emotional depth and musical diversity and earned Hay appearances on TV appearances on Craig Ferguson, Ellen and CNN as well as an ARIA award nomination in Australia. The songs are deeply affecting but never maudlin. Despite the serious subject matter, they’re full of Hay’s usual optimism with arrangements featuring his quizzical, instantly recognizable tenor vocals supported by acoustic instruments and melodic electric guitar accents. Los Angeles, CA (April 9, 2012) – NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products Group and TIME LIFE have announced the release of a new 3-DVD set featuring The Best of the Dean Martin Variety Show, available at all major retailers on May 22nd. The Dean Martin Variety Show--UNCUT features 6 entire episodes from the series, digitally re-mastered and restored for this special collection.  UNCUT captures the spirit of the show like no other DVD has before.  Previous collections have featured clips from the program, but none offered fans the chance to view the show as it originally aired during its nine-year run on NBC from 1965 to 1974. Hosted by Dean Martin, the acclaimed variety and comedy show was one of the highest-rated in television history, garnering 12 Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe award (Dean Martin “Best Actor in a Comedy Television Series” 1967), and frequented by hundreds of guests from across the world of entertainment including legendary actors and actresses from the stage and screen, pop and jazz singers, dancers and comedians.

The Dean Martin Variety Show--UNCUT boasts six classic episodes of The Dean Martin Variety Showfeaturing Dean and an impressive array of guests.  The variety and comedy show was like no other at the time. There were no rehearsals, no re-takes, and Martin simply just wasn’t a host behind a desk and a microphone – he took part in virtually all the segments and created a freewheeling setting that became a rare and exciting element for viewers. Whether talking and singing with guests or performing a comedy sketch, Martin put every guest at ease and was able to coax even the most serious actors to indulge in their comedic and musical sides. The show was as fun to be a part of as it was to watch, and no other DVD conveys that atmosphere better than UNCUT.  Two 6 DVD collections of The Dean Martin Variety Show were released last year, featuring clips from 38 episodes, and have already sold over 5 million copies.

Among the comedians and actors featured in UNCUT are: Sid Caesar and Marguerite Piazza, who at the time were co-stars of the popular series Your Show of Shows; comic legends Allen & Rossi and Jackie Mason, together in one side-splitting episode; country-music legend Buck Owens, who duets with Dean, reminding fans that Dean loved country music; plus Broadway legends Zero Mostel and Tommy Tune.

A famed star of the silver screen, television icon, Grammy® Award-winning singing sensation and member of the renowned “Rat Pack,” Dean Martin’s show business legacy is legendary. His musical career features such classics as “Ain’t That A Kick In The Head,” “That’s Amore,” “Mambo Italiano,” “Everybody Loves Somebody,” “Sway,” “Volare,” and more, releasing dozens of album recordings over his lifetime. Starring in dozens of well-known movies including Ocean’s Eleven, Rio Bravo, The Caddy, and Who Was That Lady?,for which Martin received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor, coupled with a highly popular television career, Dean Martin certainly earned his nickname as the “King of Cool.”

Anita, Iowa....."It's Easter, my favorite time of year," says Bob Everhart, the 12-stringer of the Smithsonian Dynamic Duo, Bob & Sheila, "because Jesus Christ willingly died as an offering for the sins of all of us, and proved victory over sin and death through His resurrection, we are given great hope.  Jesus's love for you and me, for all people who turn to Him, is greater than His love for Himself.  Love like that is extraordinary and causes us to pause, and fills me with gratitude and hope.  I'm so thankful we have the freedom to worship and make a joyful noise unto the Lord, in a church, or a backyard, or a small performance hall, anywhere.  Just think what it would be like if Christ hadn't died on the cross for our sins.  Be glad He rose again, and reigns today, and every day."
"We've been very very busy," added Sheila, "getting ready for SpringFest, and guess who our first invitation goes to?  You're right, it's Jesus.  We even have a very terrific minister coming all the way from Florida to be with us on Sunday morning at the Oak Tree, just for Sunday services and a gospel sing.  Wally James is a wonderful person, and just right for non-denominational services and gospel music.  April 20-21-22 are the dates, and we surely do have a fine program arranged, so we invite everyone to spend some time with us at our little performance center in Anita."
"Dad said he talked to Gene Andrews, the publisher of the Anita Tribune," piped up Bobbie Lhea, the Everhart's daughter.  "Dad said Gene is considering sending Jimmy Olson, the Tribune's star 'cat' reporter to the Oak Tree to interview LeMar the singing French dog.  Oooooh, I wonder if that's such a good idea?  What if Jimmy doesn't like LeMar, or LeMar starts barking at Jimmy?  I think there will be a problem.  I'd much rather read Jimmy's column in the newspaper called 'Jimmy Olson's Cat Litter' errr, I think that should be 'Letter."
"We're going to be real busy this summer," Bob added, "Our first festival is the original and now famous "Traders Jubilee" in McGregor, Iowa, April 13-14-15.  Then it's SpringFest, and then we're off to celebrate Richard Bauman's birthday at Timber Ridge, and the line-up at the Oak Tree is remarkable this whole year, we're especially looking forward to performing with the Nashville group the 'Roys' on July 17 at the Oak Tree.  Join us!"

NASHVILLE - With the 2012 CMA Music Festival right around the corner, CMA is looking for the best and brightest volunteers to lend a hand during the four-day event, held Thursday through Sunday, June 7-10, in Downtown Nashville.

Anyone interested in volunteering can attend the CMA Volunteer Fair on Thursday, April 12 (from 4:30-7:30 PM/CT) or Saturday, April 14 (from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM/CT) at the CMA office at One Music Circle South, Nashville, TN 37203 to fill out an application and learn more about the volunteer opportunities. Those who cannot attend the Volunteer Fair may also submit an application online at

This marks the third consecutive year that the Country Music Association has asked fans from across the nation to support the Nashville and Country Music communities by serving as ambassadors during the Festival.

"CMA Music Festival could not achieve the success it has without the significant contributions from our volunteers," said Steve Moore, CMA Chief Executive Officer.  "Through their generous efforts and hard work, we are able to 'Keep the Music Playing' in Metro Nashville Public Schools while also shining a huge international spotlight on Music City and Country Music."

CMA Music Festival has made huge strides in supporting Nashville's music education programs with $6.1 million donated to date, but it has also contributed by highlighting the city as a thriving tourist destination. According to the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau, direct visitor spending generated by the Festival in 2011 totaled more than $30 million.

Celebrating its 41st year since the inaugural Fan Fair® in 1972, the CMA Music Festival is Nashville's signature music event.  Dubbed by USA Today as "the crown jewel of Country Music festivals," the four-day event features concerts, autograph signings, contests and games, family activities, and more. Many of the jobs require standing for long periods of time, extensive walking, some light lifting, and outside duties in the heat (and possible rain). Jobs range from manning the information booths, to handing out product samples, to keeping the photo lines running smoothly. Some posts require a valid Tennessee driver's license. Volunteers are needed for CMA Music Festival events beginning Wednesday, June 6 through Sunday, June 10. CMA will provide volunteers with parking, event T-shirts, catering during working hours, and two tickets to one of the nightly shows at LP Field.
