Nashville, TN (April 6, 2012) – There may only be eighteen tables at Larry’s Country Diner,” but it services 1.4 million people each and every month as one of the top-rated shows on the RFD-TV network.  The diner is not your ordinary restaurant, but rather a unique down-home variety show that in just over two short years has become a favorite “eatery” of country fans everywhere.  Cornbread and black-eyed peas only complement the heapin’ helpin’ of country music performances served up by the stars of yesterday and today.
A new episode of "Larry’s Country Diner" will air each week in April on the RFD-TV network.  April’s line-up offers a little something to satisfy every musical “taste" for country music fans:
Week of:
April 6:   Wilson Fairchild
April 12: Joey + Rory
April 19: Buddy Greene
April 26: Dailey & Vincent
All Schedules Subject to Change without Notice
Air times for “Larry’s Country Diner” are Thursday night at 7 P.M. CST/8 P.M EST, Friday morning at 9 A.M. CST/10 A.M. EST, or Saturday evening from 10 P.M. CST/11 P.M. EST.  For more information on “Larry’s Country Diner,” please visit
Taped bi-monthly in front of a live studio/diner audience at NorthStar Studios (3201 Dickerson Pike, Nashville), the show’s spontaneity is part of the mystique of “Larry’s Country Diner” which contributes greatly to its success.  “The prevailing attitude at the diner is ‘…the cameras are always rollin’… and we don’t care,’” explains Larry Black, host and creator of “Larry’s Country Diner.”
The fact that plates are dropped or broken during a performance, a rack of knives and forks are dumped on the floor or that some of the lights go out while they were filming makes the show all that more exciting in a day where even reality shows are produced within strict script guidelines.  “It’s the kind of television you just don’t see too much anymore and both the artists and fans love it,” states Black who adds, “We even tell our artists that once the tape starts rolling, it does not stop.  If you get yourself in trouble, get yourself out ‘cause we’re not stoppin’.”
Because of its popularity, getting a seat to see a live taping might prove more difficult than getting a reservation at one of L.A.’s most trendy posh restaurants — the first available table is not available until 2013, so you’ll want to plan way in advance.  For reservations, please call 615-673-2846 or email
Larry’s Country Diner is a unique down-home variety show which integrates entertainment, interviews and music in a weekly format, taped LIVE in front of a studio audience in a country diner setting.  The show features regular characters including Black, Keith Bilbrey, Sheriff Jimmy Capps, waitress Renae and avid church lady Nadine, along with special guest appearances by country music artists of yesterday and today.  Since its initial airing on August 3, 2009, Larry’s Country Diner has produced nearly 100 episodes and has become one of the most popular shows on RFD-TV, garnering 1.4 million viewers monthly.  For more information, please visit

Hank Cochran Documentary To Premiere April 25

Director Wes Pryor’s
Hank Cochran Documentary
To Premiere April 25 at the
Nashville Film Festival
NASHVILLE – April 6, 2012 -- Hank Cochran: Livin’ For A Song, a bio-documentary of one of Nashville’s most fabled songwriters, will have its world premiere April 25 at 7 p. m. at the Regal Green Cinemas as part of the Nashville Film Festival.  There will be a repeat showing on April 26 at 12 p. m.
The star-and-music-filled production is directed by Wes Pryor of Reel Cool Films and produced, written and edited by Greg Welsch of Toppa Poppa Jons Films.  Singer Jeff Bates narrates.
Among those appearing in the film as commentators and/or performers are Willie Nelson, Bobby Bare, Elvis Costello, Ray Price, Merle Haggard, Brad Paisley, Jamey Johnson (who has recorded an album of duet versions of Cochran’s songs), Lee Ann Womack, Ronnie Milsap, Jeannie Seeley (Grand Ole Opry star and Cochran’s second wife), Mark Chesnutt, Mandy Barnett and Mike Henderson.
The film uses dozens of interviews and archival footage and photos to trace Cochran’s life from his birth in Isola, Mississippi, in 1935 to his final days as a still-active songwriter and mentor to younger composers.  Along the way it offers glimpses into such Cochran-penned hits as “Make The World Go Away” “I Fall To Pieces,” “She’s Got You,” “Ocean Front Property,” “The Chair,” “Don’t You Ever Get Tired Of Hurtin’ Me,” “A Little Bitty Tear,” “Set ‘Em Up Joe,” “Don’t Touch Me,” “Why Can’t He Be You” and “He’ll Be Back.”
The Nashville Film Festival selected Hank Cochran: Livin’ For A Song from 2,800 entries.   “This is my first film to be in a festival,” director Pryor notes. “For it to be picked by the Nashville Film Festival makes it even more exciting since I live here and have made a living playing music here for 20 years.”  A drummer, Pryor has toured and recorded with such acts as Mark Chesnutt, Baillie & The Boys and Jeff Bates.
"I know Hank would be so proud,” Pryor continues, “because I was able to show him most of the film footage we shot [before he died in 2010], and he was overwhelmed, especially with the song performances." Pryor credits songwriter Kirk Roth with suggesting the project and introducing him to Cochran.
Producer Welsch added, “Hank is a guy who defined a genre in American music and nobody really knows who he is.  But everybody knows his tune.  Hank is the classic example of ‘conspicuous only in his absence’. His is a story that needed to be told.”
Kenny Chesney’s producer, Buddy Cannon, who co-wrote with Cochran and is producing Jamey Johnson’s tribute project, remarks in the film, “I think Hank was put here on earth as a conduit for words.”  Merle Haggard concurs, “I think he’s the Ernest Hemingway of country music.
Additional details on the film and its director are available at

10,000 Entries

Deadline to submit entries is this Saturday, April 7

(Nashville, Tenn. – April 5, 2012) In less than three months, Deborah Allen’s Amazing Graceland Contest has generated more than 10,000 entries from Elvis fans around the country hoping to win an all-expense paid trip to Elvis Week 2012.

The contest, which invites fans to submit their memories about Elvis and Graceland at, ends this Saturday, April 7.  Allen will announce the winner on Friday, April 13, during George Klein’s “Elvis Hour” radio show on Sirius XM.  Since the contest began on Jan. 8, Allen has appeared on the program numerous times to read some of the thousands of entries she has received online and through the mail.

“The response to our ‘Amazing Graceland’ contest has exceeded all of our expectations,” says Allen.  “It just goes to show you how timeless and iconic Elvis Presley remains in this country and in our culture.  As a Memphis native, I am a devoted Elvis fan, and it was his spirit that moved me to write “Amazing Graceland.” I never thought it would take on a life of its own the way it has, though!  The number of letters and emails we’ve received just floors me!”

Allen wrote “Amazing Graceland” after visiting Elvis’ famed Graceland mansion in 2009.  The powerful tribute song is the opening track on her 2011 Delta Rock Records release, Hear Me Now, and has become one of the multi-talented singer’s favorite songs to perform live.  Watch Allen’s moving “Amazing Graceland” video here.

The Amazing Graceland Contest grand prize winner and a guest will receive roundtrip airfare and three night’s hotel accommodations, admission to select Elvis Week 35th anniversary events and attractions in Memphis (Aug. 15-17 only), an autographed copy of Allen’s latest album, Hear Me Now, and a special meet-and-greet and dinner with the Grammy-nominated performerElvis Week 2012 is held Aug. 10-18, 2012.

Roger Cicero
