This Mississippi native and Texas transplant has spent the last seven years in an incubation period undergoing a musical metamorphosis that has led him through lonesome delta blues, inspirational church house harmonies, poetically spun tales of Americana and into the naked and honest regions of good ole’ country music. AM COUNTRY HEAVEN, Eady’s fourth record release, originated as a side project with friend (and producer) Kevin Welch. The plan was to lay down some old school authentic country music out of sheer self-indulgence and as a labor of love. As the recordings got underway more and more people appeared in the studio contributing their ideas and adding their personal touches until their side project evolved into what is the highly anticipated album everyone is talking about.
AM COUNTRY HEAVEN features Redd Volkaert on guitar, Earl Poole Ball on piano, Tom Lewis on drums and Kevin Smith on acoustic bass -  all members of Austin’s all-star team of country music players called Heybale. Combined, they have recorded and toured with artists such as Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, Junior Brown, Dale Watson, Connie Smith and Johnny Bush. They’re responsible for the southern swagger on this album’s tunes like “AM Country Heaven” and “I’ll Sure Be Glad When I’m Wrong.”  Add legendary pedal steel player Lloyd Maines on the soulful “Longer Walk In The Rain” and “Lying To Myself” and a special vocal appearance from the incomparable Patty Loveless on “Man On A Mountain” and Eady’s rich baritone timber, and what you have is a pure honky-tonk affair in the tradition of all the great troubadours that came before him. Although the radical departure that is AM COUNTRY HEAVEN is sure to strike fans like a storm without warning, it seems that Eady is merely living up to his reputation for the element of surprise as perfectly stated by USA Today who said, "This Mississippi native’s blues-rocker creeps up like gathering thunderheads.”

Big Easy Express

Nashville, TN – March 27, 2012:  The Americana Music Association is proud to present the closing night screening of Big Easy Express at the 2012 Nashville Film Festival (NaFF) presented by Nissan, April 26, at 7:30 p.m. at the Regal Green Hills Cinema.

Directed by Emmett Malloy, Big Easy Express captures the incredible musical journey of  three bands on one train over thousands of miles of track through six cities. Harkening back to the days of jubilant railroad revivals, of steam and steel, three bands -- L.A.'s Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Nashville’s Old Crow Medicine Show, and Londoners Mumford & Sons -- climbed aboard a train in April 2011 amid the massive rail yards of Oakland and set out for New Orleans on a “tour of dreams.” Stopping along the way to play sold-out shows in spots as diverse as San Pedro, California, and Marfa, Texas, the film documents the bands’ vibrant railway adventures; the high canyons, joyous crowds, blasted skies, late-night laughter, endless music ... and a train that was bound for glory.

Tickets for the screening, and the films at the 2012 Nashville Film Festival presented by Nissan, which runs April 19-26, go on sale at to NaFF members on April 9, laminate holders on April 10 and the general public on April 11.

Watch The Maccabees latest single and video from 'Given To The Wild'

The Maccabees third album ‘Given To The Wild’ is set for release on April 24th via Fiction Records / Cooperative Music in North America after a culmination of two solid years of writing in the UK. Following ‘Wall of Arms’ – the bands critically-lauded second release – they began work on their follow-up by dismantling their most creative of songwriting units. For several months The Maccabees went their separate ways, individually sketching out the tracks that would make up their latest studio album. “We wanted everyone in the band to feel freedom while making this record,” says Felix White. “So individually we would work on ideas and bring them to the rest of the band.”
The fruits of this labour became the epic and beguiling ‘Given To The Wild’, a sprawling masterpiece of distorted pop, psychedelia and soulful guitar wig outs. It is the band’s most adventurous work to date.
London five-piece - Orlando Weeks, Hugo White, Felix White, Rupert Jarvis and Sam Doyle - otherwise known as The Maccabees recorded the album over a period of twelve months, partly with Tim Goldsworthy & Bruno Ellingham (LCD Soundsystem, Massive Attack) at Rockfield studios. Large parts were also recorded at the bands own rehearsal space in Elephant & Castle, with the band themselves on production duty, later decamping to Suffolk to oversee Cenzo Townsend mix the record.
Taking sonic inspiration from a disparate collection of musical peers such as The Stone Roses, Arthur Russell, Kate Bush and David Bowie, tracks like ‘Feel To Follow’, ‘Child’ and ‘Unknow’ find The Maccabees displaying a spectral musicality that suggests a band in the creative zenith of their career.
Whilst there are similarities to be drawn from the bands critically acclaimed sophomore release ‘Wall Of Arms’, which included the singles ‘Love You Better’ and ‘No Kind Words’, ‘Given To The Wild’ finds the band ascending to new heights, both sonically and lyrically. Orlando sums it up best, ‘You grow up. Every Girlfriend you have, every relationship, whatever, you learn how to adapt and mature. That’s exactly the same in a band.’
The Maccabees are confirmed to headline at this years Leeds and Reading Festivals and shall be making a welcomed return to North America later this year.

More details to come.

“From start to finish, ‘Given To The Wild’ is a truly wonderful record.” - The Fly

Johnny Cash CD - UNSEEN CASH

The New Johnny Cash cd from Bear Family Records

After you may have thought that there could be no more new Johnny Cash cds, the innovative Bear Family Records comes up with an equally innovative release!

Titled Unseen Cash, this is a cd and photo album.

Comprising live Johnny Cash performances, this collection features recruiting programmes recorded on behalf of the US military, Country Style USA was recorded for the Army while Country Music Time was for the Airforce. The format of each programme would feature a star singing a few of their contemporary hits alongside a special guest, here Carolee Cooper and Johnny Western respectively. Cash’s songs included There You Go, Give My Love To Rose, Home of The Blues, I Got Stripes and Pickin’ Time.

The cd is accompanied by a 26 page booklet, with award winning writer Colin Escott providing an introduction followed by 14 pages of hitherto unseen photographs taken during the time of the star’s association with Sun Records by Memphis photographer William Speer. Presenting Cash artist in a thoughtful, brooding mood, the photographer had commented: “I don’t usually take smiling jackass pictures. If you’re looking at a person with a smile, all you see is the smile. The smile kills the hold thing. The picture is in the eyes” while Speers’ wife Vancil had developed a sense of who was going to make it and who wasn’t. “It was like an electrical charge in the room. You can tell the famous one or the ones who were going to be famous. They stand out in a room without you even knowing who they are”. The photos in this new cd package clearly reveal that Johnny Cash had that indefinable star quality.

New Rochelle, NY– Jägermeister Herbal Liqueur, a brand as deeply rooted in music as it is in mythology and lore, is proud to announce the Jägermeister Presents Tour featuring country music singer/songwriter Randy Houser. The tour will kick off on April 26th in Knoxville, Tenn. and will hit 16 cities across the nation with Rick Monroe as the supporting act.
Jägermeister, the No. 1 selling imported liqueur in the United States, has a long history of supporting bands, both from a local level to national amphitheater acts. The brand has spent almost two decades developing artists and has seen many go from obscurity to the top of their fields. “We’re thrilled to be working with Randy Houser again, someone who appreciates our brand and knows how to enjoy it! He’s grown as a musician and songwriter and Jager’s been with him from the beginning,” says Rick Zeiler, Director of Strategic Marketing at Sidney Frank Importing Company, Inc.
Houser adds, "In 2009 I had the chance to be out on Jägermeister‘s first country tour with my buddy Pat Green right as I was about to put out my first single, so I couldn’t be more excited to be out on this Jägermeister Presents Tour. It’s gonna be one hell of a party!”
The Los Angeles Times wrote that Randy Houser adds “grit to the genre” with his debut album Anything Goes, which positioned the Mississippi-born, soul-drenched country singer/songwriter to become one of the next big artists to emerge in the genre. The album, which produced Top 5 single “Boots On,” and Top 20 single “Anything Goes,” landed Houser nominations at the Country Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards and Country Music Television Awards. His sophomore album, They Call Me Cadillac, was met with praise from The Washington Post and The Boston Globe, among others, naming it a top release of the year. After touring alongside Willie Nelson, Jamey Johnson and more on the Country Throwdown Tour in the summer of 2011, Houser began recording his first album on Stoney Creek Records, and his first radio single from the forthcoming release is slated for spring 2012. For more information on Randy Houser, visit

New Album Available At All Major Retailers
Including Select Whole Foods Locations;
National Tour Kicks Off This Week

Fairfax, VA (March 27, 2012) --- The buzz surrounding Joan Osborne’s newest album, Bring It On Home, keeps growing as critics and her fellow musicians rave about the singer’s powerful interpretations of blues and classic rhythm & blues songs.  Osborne recently previewed Bring It On Home on CBS This Morning (, whose hosts noted that “with her strong, sultry voice, she certainly knows how to bring it home.”  Bring It On Home is available today at all major retailers including select Whole Foods locations just as Joan kicks off a North American tour with a pair of concerts at New York’s City Winery.

The New York Daily News named the album to its “Top Ten” in music list, noting that “she recasts the blues with her own grind and shout” and the New Yorker delighted in her “voice containing a rich mixture of colors….now she’s come back to the blues.”  American Songwriter magazine added, "...Osborne injects tremendous passion into sides originally recorded by Ray Charles, Sonny Boy Williamson, Al Green, Otis Redding and others. When she digs into John Mayall’s slow blues ‘Broken Wings,’ the emotional torrent obscured in the original is brought to the surface through her fiery vocals."  And No Depression marveled, “Joan Osborne has a real hot record here. She has given the Blues a shot this time and, boy, it really works for her.”  Even London’s Daily Express newspaper weighed in, describing, “Her voice is beautifully bluesy and wonderfully expressive while the music is soulful, sophisticated and slightly retro sounding, meaning the package reeks class as it moves between rowdy versions of songs such as ‘Shoorah! Shoorah!’ to deep soul versions of ‘The Same Love That Made Me Laugh.’”

Bring It On Home has also struck a chord with the artists who know these songs better than anyone else.  Betty Wright, who hit big with the original version of “Shoorah! Shoorah!,” remarked, “It’s truly time for the song again...(Joan has) sweetly read the guy in the song his bill of rights!”  After hearing Joan’s take on his “Broken Wings,” John Mayall enthused, “I’m very impressed with the track and particularly Joan’s vocals; very heartfelt.”

Joan Osborne has sold millions of albums and garnered multiple Grammy nominations throughout her critically and commercially acclaimed career.  In addition to her own headlining tours, she has sung lead vocals for The Dead (formerly the Grateful Dead) and won a Grammy for her performance in the award-winning film Standing In The Shadows of Motown.

Nashville, TN – March 27, 2012 – GRAMMY winning trio Lady Antebellum announced last week that tornado ravaged Henryville High School would be the recipients of a private concert from their OWN THE NIGHT Prom Contest.  The group is inviting the school’s Juniors and Seniors to the KFC YUM! Center on May 16 for a private prom event followed by a post-party concert that will be open to the public.  All proceeds raised from the concert portion of Rebuilding Henryville will remain local through the New Hope/Indiana Bankers Association for the benefit of the Disaster Relief Fund.

"The whole community, especially the students, is excited about Lady Antebellum coming and performing for Henryville,” said Superintendent of the West Clark Community Schools Monty Schneider. “They missed so much with the school being destroyed that things like this help them feel whole again. They will be talking about the tornadoes for the rest of their lives, but this event will give them something positive to reflect on about that time. It's going to be a special moment for the entire community.”

"Helping rebuild this community is our biggest priority right now," said Lady A's Hillary Scott. "We were so moved by the stories from Henryville High School, but also from the students at their rival schools who raised their hands and said they wanted to help.  There has been so much national media attention and so many sponsors and volunteers are stepping forward to help.  It's going to be an amazing day!

Lipton has also come on board to help with the event in the spirit of their "Drink Positive" and "Live Positive" message, a campaign that Lady A already supports.
