Kenny Chesney Scores 23rd #1 Single With "Reality"

Kenny Chesney Scores 23rd #1 Single With "Reality"

NASHVILLE, TN – Singer-songwriter Kenny Chesney scores his 23rd # 1 single this week with “Reality,” which he co-wrote with longtime writing partner and friend Brett James. Their previous collaborations include the chart-topping “Out Last Night,” the Top 10 “Keg In The Closet,” and “Spirit of A Storm," from Chesney’s introspective ‘Lucky Old Sun’ album.
The idea for “Reality” was born in a dentist’s chair. Chesney says, “I was lying in the chair, I had the mask on, you know, where they give you that funny gas, so they can work on your mouth without you feeling it, and I remember thinking, ‘Wow, I haven’t been this relaxed in a long time.’ That was my escape from reality and that’s what the song is about. And when people come to our shows, they’re not thinking about what’s going on in their job or school, they’re having fun, escaping reality and I’m glad to be a part of that. I say it every night on stage we all got problems but for the next couple of hours, let’s push them aside and relax. That’s how I feel about it!”
Chesney leads the Academy of Country Music Awards pack with 9 nominations including Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year (Hemingway’s Whiskey as both artist and producer), and Male Vocalist of the Year. He also earned double nominations for Single Record of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year as both artist and producer for “You And Tequila” with Grace Potter. Chesney is also nominated for Song of the Year for “You And Tequila” with Grace Potter.
On June 2, The 'Brothers of the Sun 'Tour starring, Chesney and Tim McGraw, kicks off in Tampa, FL. The tour marks the first time in 10 years the longtime friends have hit the road together and features Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and Jake Owen. The tour will play stadiums across the country and are the only cities and venues Chesney will play in 2012.

KATIE ARMIGER’S TWENTY-SIX CITY “GET SMART TOUR”

GAC TO SPONSOR KATIE ARMIGER’S TWENTY-SIX CITY
“GET SMART TOUR” TO LAUNCH MARCH 23RD

March 6, 2012 – Katie Armiger, who has become one of the biggest and brightest independent female country artists, will kick off her “Get Smart Tour” on March 23rd in West Hartford, Connecticut.  The 26-city tour will be sponsored by Great American Country (GAC), dedicated to bringing country music and lifestyle programs to viewers in 62 million households across the country. Katie’s latest single “Scream,” from her third studio album Confessions of a Nice Girl, is climbing the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and the video is on the fan-voted GAC Top 20 Countdown for the fifth week in a row.

“We’ve watched Katie grow up before our eyes and through her videos on GAC,” said GAC President Ed Hardy.  “We are thrilled to be part of her first national tour and look forward to sharing in her ongoing successes as her career progresses. GAC is proud to help new artists, such as Katie was, have a national TV platform on GAC to help grow their careers.”

Always eager to engage her fans Katie took to her social media sites to give them the chance to name her tour, the “Get Smart Tour,” Katie’s first headline tour of the U.S., will make stops at Colleges, Universities, and major Fairs and Festivals across the country. Slated to run through August this tour is the first time Katie is heading back out on the road since she spent most of her Summer and Fall with opening slots for some of country music’s biggest names including Darius Rucker, Ronnie Dunn, Little Big Town, Kellie Pickler, and Luke Bryan. With a full band on most dates Katie will perform fan favorites including “Scream,” “Kiss Me Now,” “Leaving Home,” “Best Song Ever,” “I Do, But Do I,” as well as test out new music for her forthcoming fourth studio album.

“It’s every artist’s dream to headline their own tour and to be able to do so with GAC’s support is amazing – I am so grateful to them for supporting my career,” said Katie. “I chose “Get Smart” for the obvious reason of where we are performing but also as a bit of tongue-in-cheek because I do plan to soak everything in and learn whatever I can on the road. I cannot wait to get out there.”

Fans can get up to date information on the “Get Smart” tour, with dates being added, by going to www.katiearmiger.com and can follow Katie on Twitter at www.twitter.com/@katiearmiger

New Baby Boy Born Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Tuesday, March 6, 2012) – Country star Randy Houser and wife, Jessa Lee Houser beamed with pride this morning as they welcomed their first child, a baby boy, into the world. Weighing in at 6 lbs., 11 oz. and a whopping 19 inches long, the little one will have big ‘boots’ to fill following in the shadow of his talented CMA/ACM nominated “Boots On,” and “Anything Goes,” hit-making father, but to Houser and Yantz, he is the greatest gift they could ever receive. The happy couple married in a private ceremony in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic last year.

To top off a year of positive life-changing milestones, Houser is newly signed with Stoney Creek Records and will release a brand-new single to radio in May, off of his highly-anticipated third album which will hit stores later this year. Jason Sturgeon Rides with Skyjacker Suspensions

Jason Sturgeon Rides with Skyjacker Suspensions

The 2011 CMA Music Festival was the tipping point for a unique marketing partnership between rising Country star Jason Sturgeon — a self-proclaimed gearhead — and the famous Skyjacker Suspensions he idolized growing up in small-town Indiana, where driving oversized trucks through the mud was a way of life.
Last year at CMA Music Festival, Sturgeon brought the jacked-up, family hand-me-down red Chevy truck to the Power Zone that appeared in his music video for the song, “Simple life” (written by Sturgeon and Dane Clark). As seen in the video, a Skyjacker sticker is on the back of the old truck, and that caught the eye of Martin & Company Advertising executives, who were partners with CMA in organizing the Power Zone. Martin reps asked Sturgeon to bring it, and while at the Festival, Sturgeon and Skyjacker, which was also a Power Zone sponsor, started talking business.
“It was a perfect fit,” says Sturgeon, now a Skyjacker spokesman who has written the theme to the upcoming 2012 Monster Truck Nationals Tour, “Time Bomb.” “It’s all a part of my life. Plus, it’s a great organization, with good people involved. And it’s the same demo. We’re reaching the same folks that they are trying to reach.”
Sturgeon will also be working on an upcoming episode of “Gearz” on the Speed cable channel, where he will help host Stacey David install a Skyjacker Suspensions lift kit on a Chevrolet truck. And then they’ll take it for a spin.
Skyjacker Suspensions has partnered in the past with other Country stars, including Tim McGraw, who drove a Jeep outfitted with a Skyjacker lift kit to a Camp Jeep event. Skyjacker executives see a bright future for Sturgeon, whose simple, down-home style reaches a younger, male, outdoors-oriented fan base — a target demographic for selling their truck lift kits. Plus, pairing with the Country Music format fits well with the accessories company, said Lee McGuire, Director of Marketing and Operations, Skyjacker Suspensions.
“Country over the last five to 10 years has become more mainstream,” McGuire said. “A lot of people outside of Country would know who your Country artists are. It’s become part of so many people’s lives. You may not be a big fan, but you know these artists. That crossover has been big over the past several years, and that’s important to us too.”
Sturgeon’s manager and Toolpusher Records head Dennis Kurtz says it feels right, too, to partner with a product the artist uses and loves. “The whole automobile aftermarket thing is great because Jason is a gearhead and already likes and uses Skyjacker products,” he said. “And it's easy for him to talk about them. It's a symbiotic, organic relationship.”
