About Hank Williams Jr.
With more than 70 albums to his credit, Williams has a fascinating career to reflect upon for a legend still in his prime. His discography chronicles a bold profile of growth from adored offspring of a legendary father, to titan of the modern country rock movement in his own right. For two decades, America came to its collective feet each fall Monday night when this larger than life superman of a musician looked into the camera and unleashed the national anthem for viewers of Monday Night Football – ‘Are you ready for some football?’ Those simple words have won Williams an entirely new generation of fans and given him the distinction of being the first country performer to ever win an Emmy. Williams has also been named Entertainer of the Year five times, and most recently was the recipient of the 2009 Academy of Country Music “Pioneer Award”.

LOCASH COWBOYS SALUTE LATE BANDMATE RYAN “TROOP” JONES

LOCASH COWBOYS SALUTE LATE BANDMATE RYAN “TROOP” JONES AT WILDHORSE SALOON CONCERT TO BENEFIT MUSICARES, SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26

Special musical guests announced for “The Song Lives On – A Tribute to Ryan Jones”

NASHVILLE -- The LoCash Cowboys’ Chris Lucas and Preston Brust have plenty of reason to celebrate this week with Keith Urban’s hit song “You Gonna Fly” reaching No. 1 on the Billboard and Mediabase charts.  The duo co-wrote the song with fellow Sony/ATV songwriter Jaren Johnston.  On Sunday, Feb. 26, however, Lucas and Brust and the extended LoCash family will celebrate the life of their late bandmate, Ryan “Troop” Jones, who passed away on October 19.

“The Song Lives On – A Tribute to Ryan Jones” happens at the Wildhorse Saloon on Nashville’s 2nd Ave., the spot where Lucas and Brust met and began performing together 10 years ago.  The evening will feature music by LoCash Cowboys and special guests Jeffrey Steele, Mary Sue Englund, Bruce Brown, Mason Tyler, and more. Money raised will benefit MusiCares which provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need.

“Troop” joined the LoCash Cowboys’ band in 2005, playing fiddle, mandolin and acoustic guitar, and toured extensively with band from that point until having to take a leave of absence in July 2011 to combat a life-threatening ulcer which led to additional medical complications including pneumonia resulting in his passing in October.

“We will celebrate the life of our amazing friend, bandmate, and brother, Troopy,” said Brust.

Lucas added, “We miss him every day.”

Tickets are $10 pre-sale and $15 at the door. Doors open at 6PM.  Advance tickets are available through the Wildhorse Saloon website. Telephone: 615-902-8211.

Thom McHugh Joins Expanding Parallel Entertainment’s Nashville Roster

Thom McHugh Joins Expanding Parallel Entertainment’s Nashville Roster
Parallel Music Publishing - Thom McHugh

Nashville, TN (February 22, 2012) – Nashville’s Parallel Music Publishing is excited to announce they’ve added yet another talented songwriter to their publishing roster. Thom McHugh has had well over a hundred songs recorded and penned 19 singles, five of which have reached the number one position on the country charts and five more have made it to the top five.

Born and raised in Nashville, Tenn., McHugh’s songs include "Don't Happen Twice" for Kenny Chesney, "You Can't Lose Me" by Faith Hill, "More" by Trace Adkins, "Life Goes On" by Little Texas, "This Is Me" by Randy Travis and "It Won't Be Over You" by Steve Wariner, just to name a few.

“Parallel is thrilled to have such a talented and accomplished writer on our roster,” said Tim Hunze, managing partner, Parallel Music Publishing. “We expect great things to come from our new relationship with Thom.”

McHugh is no stranger to the music industry. Following his heart, after two years at Western Kentucky University, Thom transferred to the Music Business Program at Nashville's Belmont University. While there, Thom began studying Engineering and working in the University's studio. It wasn't long before Thom landed an internship at MCA Music Publishing where he soon worked his way up to chief engineer of the MCA studio. Engineering by day and writing by night, McHugh discovered his true passion in writing and decided to give it a shot full time.

“I'm thrilled to be working with Tim Hunze and the entire Parallel Entertainment team,” said Thom. “It feels like the perfect fit.”

CURSIVE

MIA. malen jetzt in dunkelbunt.

Music City Roots: Live From The Loveless Cafe Announces
Roots Moments, Season One, The first anthology CD from the hit radio series.

On February 28, Music City Roots will release Roots Moments: Special Live Cuts From Season One, a selection of 11 outstanding performances from the inaugural season of Nashville’s celebrated weekly broadcast. The album, distributed by Compass Records, is a souvenir of and a calling card for a show that has earned the deep respect of artists and the praise of Nashville music fans and critics.

Launched in October of 2009 as a throwback live radio show and new-era webcast, Music City Roots has become a trusted curator of new and established talent in contemporary folk and Americana music. The Roots Moments series distills the experience into keepsake recordings worthy of collecting and repeated listening.

“The tremendous artists who grace our stage week after week are a gift to lovers of musical authenticity and integrity the world over, and we’re proud to release what we hope to be the first of many such collections of excellent and diverse artistry,” says MCR co-founder John Walker. “We feel like we’re part of a very important movement in roots and Americana music and the music business in general. We hope this CD makes some history of its own.”

Like the show itself, the album begins with a solo performance by musical host Jim Lauderdale, the multi-Grammy Award winning songwriter and artist. What follows feels like an unbroken experience, with songs by 18 South, Holy Ghost Tent Revival, Nanci Griffith, Miss Tess and the Bon Ton Parade, Scott Miller, Caitlin Rose, Charlie Louvin, The Black Lillies and Mike Farris with the McCrary Sisters. The final cut is one of the greatest-ever Loveless Jams, the show-closing ensemble number named for the show’s host venue, the Loveless Cafe Barn. Here, iconic bluegrass musician Sam Bush leads “Up On Cripple Creek” with Lauderdale, Farris and more.

The liner notes by show Interview Guy and Senior Producer Craig Havighurst can be found at www.musiccityroots.com, along with the story of the show and a huge archive of performance video and audio. Browse around and find out what made Nashville Mayor Karl Dean say “if you’re coming to Nashville, you need to come here and see this show” and what made legendary musician Jerry Douglas say “this is what I imagine the Grand Ole Opry was like when it first started.” It’s not a specific genre of music, but it is a special vibe and atmosphere of respect and love of Nashville’s remarkable legacy. You can hear it in these performances.

A portion of the proceeds from the album will be donated to Music City Roots promotional partners The Nature Conservancy, which stands up for biodiversity on a show that stands up for musical diversity.

Royal Wade Kimes video has become a “Big Buzz”

YOUTUBE FAILS TO KEEP UP WITH
“COLD COUNTRY” COUNT
AS IT GOES TO VIRAL STATUS

The notification was in the burnt orange column which read… “We are experiencing data processing delays but the root cause has been cleared and all data should be available shortly, thank you for your patience.”

The Royal Wade Kimes video has become a “Big Buzz” as it continues to make and break records on views and shares around the world. It is being watched in 92 countries with the United States, Germany, Canada, Italy, and the United Kingdom leading the geographical map.  Reportedly, Nutsaboutcountry.com wrote: “Country favorite Kimes has gone viral. The singer/songwriter/author and strong supporter of all things cowboy has released his latest single to the Web. Given the immense and growing interest in YouTube, fans are clicking on the song from locations like Finland, France, Australia, and Canada.”

All data surrounding this video points to the idea that the world has found and fallen in love with Royal Wade Kimes, a cowboy recording artist born and raised in Arkansas. The comments and news on “Cold Country” is coming in at a staggering rate from everything to the Royal Wade Kimes vintage vocal, the song, the cold breath, the dramatic moment at the end, his outlaw look, location, and production.

Royal Wade Kimes has been around a while, though he never received the recognition he should have. He cut his first record on Major Label Ayslum, and garnered several chart topping hits “Another Man’s Sky” being one that also scored with a top video. “Crossing The Roads” which “Cold Country” was singled from is Royal Wade’s tenth record to date, proving that sometimes it takes time to be an overnight sensation.
