Unplugged Weihnacht

Unplugged Weihnacht

B. >Alaska and Me< (John Denver), >Black Berry Blossom<, >Grandma’s featherbed<. Sie spielten auch >Mr. Right< (Garth Brooks) im Bluegrass-Stile.

CRAIG CAMPBELL RELEASES VIDEO FOR WORKING CLASS ANTHEM
“WHEN I GET IT”

Art Imitates Life in Inventive New Clip

Nashville, TN…(January 6, 2012)…Art often imitates life, and the set of Craig Campbell’s new video for working class anthem “When I Get It” was no exception.  While attempting to shoot the fast action, tongue-in-cheek humorous music video, Craig and the crew found themselves at a standstill on set without any electrical power.  Apparently, the owner of the private East Nashville home where the video was shot had neglected to pay his electric bill, which just so happens to be the lyrical premise of the song.  The situation was rectified and shooting resumed within a few hours, resulting in the true-to-life video clip.

“When I Get It,” written by Campbell, Jason Matthews and Jim McCormick, is a tempo track with a light hearted lyric that describes the relatable financial struggles of the middle class. The song Music Row describes as an “extremely likeable, hard-times, sing-along tune,” is sure to become a fast fan favorite.

Directed by Wes Edwards/Ruckus Films (Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Trace Adkins), the video is unique in that it is taken from one continuous shot, without any editing.   The video depicts Campbell’s belongings being repossessed by movers played by his true-life band members.

“Rehearsing the complicated sequence of movers, camera, and Craig in order to do in one take was stressful, but paid off in the end,” adds Edwards.  “We pulled it off in one take and I'm extremely proud of what we accomplished!”

The “When I Get It” music video will premiere on Great American Country (GAC) starting this week.  It can also be viewed HERE and other TV outlets in the coming days.

“When I Get It” is the third single from Campbell’s recently released self-titled debut album.

ABOUT CRAIG CAMPBELL: After moving from his hometown of Lyons, Georgia to Nashville in 2002 to pursue his country music dreams, American Country Awards nominee Craig Campbell quickly picked up work as a keyboardist in Luke Bryan and Tracy Byrd’s bands and was later discovered playing a regular gig at legendary Nashville honky-tonk, The Stage. The singer-songwriter has earned well-deserved praise from the country’s toughest critics for his self-titled debut album, which released in April of 2011. Campbell’s autobiographical lead single, “Family Man” was a top 15 hit followed by “Fish” which has sold a quarter of a million downloads. WAYLON - THE MUSIC INSIDE:  A COLLABORATION DEDICATED TO WAYLON JENNINGS, VOLUME II
SET FOR JANUARY 24 PRE-SALE;
FEBRUARY 7 RETAIL RELEASE

CMT Southern Fried Flicks w/ Hazel Smith Featuring Jessi Colter & Jamey Johnson
Set to Air this Weekend (Jan 7 / 8 PM EST & Jan 8 / 4 PM EST)

Nashville, Tenn. (January 6, 2012) – Today, Average Joes Entertainment, in conjunction with Scatter Records, announced the official release date for WAYLON - The Music Inside:  A Collaboration Dedicated to Waylon Jennings, Volume II.  The album will be available for pre-sale purchase digitally on January 24, 2012, with availability at retail starting on February 7, 2012.

The eleven-track album, and the second of a three volume series dedicated to the late Waylon Jennings, features country music artists performing the hit songs that made Jennings a household name.  WAYLON - The Music Inside, Volume II boasts a solid lineup of artists each of who were heavily influenced by Jennings’ legacy.  The lineup for WAYLON - The Music Inside, Volume II includes Dierks Bentley, Justin Moore, Hank Williams Jr., Jessi Colter, Montgomery Gentry, Jewel, Jack Ingram, Colt Ford, Josh Thompson, Pat Green and Wyatt McCubbin.

“I feel like this project could very likely break another sound barrier,” says Jessi Colter.  “Waylon was so original.  For his songs to be sang by other people and to take me somewhere else is not an easy task.”

Recording for the three volume series started over three-and-a-half years ago, and has been a labor of love for Jennings’ widow Jessi Colter; son Shooter Jennings; and guitarist Reggie Young. They, along with producer Witt Stewart, have assembled a star-studded roster of artists to pay tribute to Jennings and highlight his undeniable musical and cultural influence.

Colter adds, “I’ve been pleasantly surprised of the fact that the people involved chose to make the songs their own.  They add something to it and to me that’s what makes it interesting.  They made it their own because they could never walk in Waylon’s tracks.  They’d be stepping in holes.”

Waylon Jennings is recognized as one of the key players of country music’s ‘outlaw’ movement.  Jennings was in good company with fellow artists of his time including Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson.  They were the musical talents who defined a new genre of music with rebellious attitudes, which, in turn, translated over into their music.  The ‘outlaw’ rebellion denied Nashville’s straight-laced model and brought the era of whiskey-drinkin,’ bar brawlin,’ woman lovin,’ country music to the forefront.

WAYLON - The Music Inside, Volume I, was released last year and is available for purchase now.
