Sarah Darling Warms Up to Crock-Pot

Sarah Darling Warms Up to Crock-Pot

Sarah Darling has landed a new venture as the first celebrity spokeswoman for the national Crock-Pot Crockstars Confessionals campaign to support recipe sharing for the line of slowcookers.
This is no small marketing campaign. Darling’s image was printed on more than 1 million Crock-Pot packages that are shipping to U.S. stores. Plus, Darling helped kick off the brand’s fall season of “Crocktober” by sharing her Crock-Pot slow-cooker recipes through viral videos, live streaming events and social media with Crock-Pot’s estimated 1.5 million fans.
“Crock-Pot was attracted to me because I’m new in this industry, and they wanted to bring on someone who they could grow with,” Darling said. “I’m also from the Midwest and I love to cook. It matched up perfectly.
The partnership began when John Alexander, VP, Marketing/Artist Management, Black River Entertainment, approached his friends at Crock-Pot’s parent company, Jarden Corp., about Darling. Alexander has worked with Jarden products in the past, helping connect Country stars with popular consumer products.
Susan Selle, Crock-Pot’s VP, Global Brand, Shopper and Customer Marketing, says the company’s internal research shows that Crock-Pot consumers engage closely with Country Music and listen to Country more than other types of music. They are also driven by food and fashion.
“There is a natural affinity for the music,” Selle said. “So, obviously, we identified Country Music as an influencer for our Crock-Pot consumers.”
Darling’s personality, fashion sense and artistic style matched especially well with Crock-Pot consumers. So much so, that beyond the traditional and social-driven marketing, Crock-Pot in early November launched a customizable Crock-Pot Create A Crock slowcooker through a live streamed concert on Crock-Pot.com, featuring Darling with other Country stars. Darling played new songs and a Christmas song; it was hosted by TV and radio personality Storme Warren, and the singer shared her own favorite Crock-Pot recipes.
“The whole idea with Sarah is she is lovely, and she is an up-and-coming Country talent, and she also loves to cook,” Selle said. “She is authentic, and she really does have great slow-cooking recipes.”
Darling delights in her role as Crock-Pot’s first “Crock-Star,” signing Crock- Pot recipe cards for fans and using social media networks like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter to share recipes along with fashion photos and daily updates on her life.
“When I moved to Nashville, I didn’t know anybody,” Darling said. “And this is just one of those things that my grandmother did for me. She bought me a Crock-Pot and said, ‘I know you’re going to be living on your own. This is how you make a pot roast.’ It’s like a little piece of home, just like comfort food. To me, I think, Country Music is very much about home. It’s about true stories and real things, and real life. And to me, it all ties in.”

Bentley Plans Album Release Show at
Country Music's HOME - The Ryman Auditorium
CMT's Chet Flippo calls the disc "the finest album of his career"
Nashville, TN – Jan. 3, 2012 – Multi-PLATINUM singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley is sharing new details about his forthcoming sixth Capitol Nashville studio album HOME, in stores Feb. 7.  One of country music's most distinguishable voices, Bentley returns with a mainstream country collection for the first time since 2009.

“I definitely stepped away and explored some things that were more on the fringe of country music for a little while,” said Bentley. “So, this record feels fresh. It doesn’t feel like a continuation of any other project or series of recordings.  I love being able to try different things musically, and I'm so thankful my fans have followed me to those places.  But, I feel like my real 'Home' is in the center of country music."

Bentley's versatility as a writer shines on the disc that has already produced the rowdy No. one hit “Am I The Only One."  Bentley penned the good-time chart topper, as well as the disc’s spiritual anchor and title track "Home," which has caught early attention from National Public Radio critics for the authenticity of its lyrics.  Additional writing credits on the album are highlighted by the sonic seduction of “Breathe You In” and a father's love letter in “Thinking of You.”

On other tracks, the signature gravel in Bentley’s voice pairs flawlessly with the smokiness of Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild's vocal on “When You Gonna Come Around,” while legendary bluegrass players Sam Bush and Tim O’Brien reunite with Bentley on “Heart of a Lonely Girl.”  The country crankers "Diamonds Make Babies" and "5-1-5-0" have already been road tested and embraced by country music fans, who will also want to listen through the album’s closer for the recording’s hidden special guest.

HOME Track List:

1. Am I The Only One

2. Gonna Die Young

3. Tip It On Back

4. Home

5. Diamonds Make Babies

6. In My Head

7. Breathe You In

8. The Woods

9. When You Gonna Come Around (Featuring Karen Fairchild)

10. 5-1-5-0

11. Heart Of A Lonely Girl

12. Thinking Of You

Bentley stands out among his contemporaries as the only country singer who can claim performances from Lollapalooza to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and Bonnaroo to the CMA Music Festival, a true artist carefully tailoring his sets to each. He’s a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and last fall was invited to perform "Home" for the President at the White House. This devotion to developing all sides of his musicianship took Bentley on a successful journey into bluegrass music last year with his acclaimed and GRAMMY nominated album UP ON THE RIDGE. And over his diverse career, the CMA "Best New Artist" winner has sold over five million albums, scored eight No. one hits at country radio and collected 10 GRAMMY nominations.

Bentley will return ‘Home’ for a special album release show at Nashvlle's historic Ryman Auditorium on Feb. 2.  The second leg of the Country & Cold Cans tour will resume on Feb. 15 with the first dates scheduled internationally in Canada and Australia.

The album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Bluegrass Music Chart and #19 on Billboard’s Country Chart, earning the Hot Shot Debut and marking the duo’s first Top-20 debut on the chart. It ranked #17 on the Billboard.com Top 50 Bluegrass Albums of 2011. The album also landed the #1 spot on the Heatseekers Albums Chart. They were honored with 2010 International Bluegrass Music Awards for Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year and Album of the Year - Dailey & Vincent Sing the Statler Brothers.

“Jamie and Darrin have a natural, authentic connection with our guests and our brand,” said Cracker Barrel Marketing Manager Julie Craig. “We thought from the start that working on a project with them would develop into a wonderful business relationship and it has. But even more importantly, we’re pleased to work with such talented and genuine individuals.”

Er begann mit >Sunday Morning Coming Down< (J.Cash), >Will the Circle be unbroken<, >City of New Orleans<, ….

I saw the light<, >Put your hand in the hand<.
