Proceeds To Benefit Wounded Warrior Project

Nashville, TN...(November 21, 2011)...American Country Award Nominee Craig Campbell is getting ready for Christmas and taking a moment to give back as he releases the holiday classic, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”.  Produced by Keith Stegall, the song is heartfelt and timely as our nation’s troops continue to make their way home.  Starting today, fans can download the song HERE and support a worthy cause, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project™.

“’I'll Be Home For Christmas’ is one of my all time favorite Christmas songs and being on the road a lot makes this song mean that much more to me”.  Campbell continues, “I am so proud to support the Wounded Warrior Project™ so that a portion of the proceeds benefit those soldiers making their way stateside and will be home this Christmas. They are the true heroes of our time”.

In addition, Campbell recently filmed a music video for “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”. The clip features footage of our American soldiers returning home in addition to video of Craig celebrating the holiday with wife Mindy and two young daughters, Preslee and Kinni Rose. The video can be seen on TV and online, including HERE, now and in the coming weeks.

ABOUT CRAIG CAMPBELL: After moving from his hometown of Lyons, Georgia to Nashville in 2002 to pursue his country music dreams, Craig Campbell quickly picked up work as a keyboardist in Luke Bryan and Tracy Byrd’s bands and was later discovered playing a regular gig at legendary Nashville honky-tonk, The Stage. The singer-songwriter has earned well-deserved praise from the country’s toughest critics.  With the release of his debut album in April 2011, Craig had the highest first week sales for any new male country artist this year.  Campbell’s autobiographical lead single, “Family Man” was a top 15 hit followed by “Fish” which has sold a quarter of a million downloads.  He is nominated in the NEW ARTIST category for SINGLE OF THE YEAR and MUSIC VIDEO OF THE YEAR at the American Country Awards, airing December 5 on FOX.  Campbell’s latest single “When I Get It” recently shipped to country radio.  To learn more about Craig, visit and follow him on Twitter @craigcampbelltv.

Times they are changing, and Royal Wade Kimes along with Wonderment Records has the vision and susceptibility to ride the horse leaving the old to find the new.  It’s hard to imagine a ‘born in the saddle’ cowboy understanding the technology world, but Royal Wade certainly does.  He was one of the first artists to have his own website, in fact his site is one of the first of country music artists. The site garners thousands of hits per month and has an enormous fan base. However, the new wave is to expand from individual sites. Not only can the fans enjoy easy access in buying from the site, they can now explore other avenues in search of RW music, novels, art, and other products. Royal Wade Kimes and Wonderment Records have joined Facebook with a Royal Wade Kimes music store, and at the same time have done the same with CDBaby allowing downloads from his  site, via, through CDBaby. He has also partnered with Books in Motion, a literary publisher in audio, allowing direct downloads with discounts for his novels. There is one other very important and exciting expansion, and that is in the world of ringtones. That too can be accessed through the Royal Wade Kimes site by the touch of a button. It takes you direct to where an RWK fan can choose and obtain Royal Wade Kimes ringtones.
RW:  It’s simple, find a new range or starve out. We opted to have a music store on Facebook, and sell downloads through from the Royal Wade website, while selling from my site as well, it's just another option for the fan. We are doing the same thing with  and  I can see a time when brick and mortar stores will be near to extinct. I hate that, but we’re living in changing times like it or not, and we’re very fortunate to have T.L. Conklin running our web; she gets it, and keeps us ahead of the curve.  A recording artist today should have someone like TL in their camp. They can make life easier in a chaotic recording artist world.
There are buttons and banners on my site that takes a fan direct to CDBaby for downloads, MYXER for ringtones, Books in Motion for my novel downloads, and when visiting Facebook, there is a music store available for downloads through a partnership with CDBaby and Facebook.
Times they are a changing, and so is Royal Wade Kimes. They will never take the cowboy out of him, but he can ride the range with the best of them in this expanding and exciting way of doing business.
Royal Wade Kimes is the nation’s top Cowboy Country Music Artist and has won numerous cowboy music awards along with being named the “Best Living Western Solo Musician” for two thousand eleven, and has appeared on the cover of True West Magazine, Horsemen’s Roundup, and featured in Country Weekly while scoring numerous top ten worldwide hits. He has written songs for Garth Brooks, Diamond Rio, Gene Watson, and others as a songwriter, and has been tabbed the 21st century Marty Robbins as he tours the country.

(Nashville, TN)  Jean Shepard, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry, celebrates her birthday, her anniversary to her husband Benny, and her 56th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry.  Jean is the longest continuous member of the Opry.

I do not know of anyone else that has a date on their yearly calendar where they celebrate so many important dates in their lives.

I just spoke with Jean, and she has asked that I send everyone a thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers for her recovery from a foot ailment which kept her from appearing at the Opry and on personal appearances.  She wants everyone to know how much she appreciates all of the prayers which were heard and answered.  She is feeling great and read for more personal appearances for this year and 2012.

One of the greatest of all of the female artists in country music and still going as strong as ever.

EMI Records Nashville Artist Will Perform Over 50 Dates Through May 2012 With Special Guest, Big Machine Label Group’s Brantley Gilbert
Nashville, Tenn. (Monday, November 21, 2011) – Don’t be surprised if “Parental Discretion Advised” appears on the ticket when Eric Church brings his newly announced The Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour to over 50 cities in 2012.  The St. Petersburg Times recalls his last performance in their town noting Church “made the rowdiest yawp, and drew the most toked-up fans.” With word of mouth long fueling Church’s sweat-soaked, sold-out crowds, Church surprised Music Row naysayers earlier this year when his third release, CHIEF, topped the Billboard charts with over 145,000 albums sold in its first week—a true testament to the years of hard work by Church and his band on the road. CHIEF has since been certified Gold and produced the Top 15 “Homeboy” as well as current Top 15 and climbing single, “Drink In My Hand,” on which Church’s live show serves as the backdrop for the music video counterpart
No other up-and-coming artist is quite as suitable for the raucous Church crowd as Big Machine Label Group's Brantley Gilbert.  Gilbert, who has experienced recent radio success with his current No. 1 hit, “Country Must Be Country Wide,” has been building his fan base on the outskirts of “polished” country for years in the southeast.  Similar to Church, Gilbert brings grit and attitude to the stage – and he should fit in just fine with the theme of The Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour.
Church announced the tour earlier today on to his Church Choir members exclusively, and beginning on January 19, 2012 in Fort Smith, AR, Church will kick off the 50+ dates nationwide with stops stretching from New York, NY to Minneapolis, MN, Chicago, IL and Nashville, TN.
“We have been building our entire career for this tour.  It is truly the culmination of a lot of blood, sweat and beer that has brought us to this point in our career," says Church. "I have always trusted our fans to deliver with their dedication and passion, they have always exceeded my expectations.  I have never been more excited to begin a tour than this one. The band and I are committed to emptying the tank every night and delivering the best show we can."

About Eric Church
EMI Records Nashville’s Eric Church catapulted into national success with the release of his debut country album, Sinners Like Me, which produced radio hits “How ‘Bout You,” “Two Pink Lines,” and “Guys Like Me.”  His follow-up, Carolina, went on to sell over 500,000 copies (certified Gold) and spawned top hits “Love Your Love The Most,” “Hell On The Heart,” and “Smoke A Little Smoke.”  Recently awarded the ACM New Solo Vocalist of the Year Award, Church celebrated the chart-topping release of his third studio album, CHIEF, in July of this year with sales exceeding 145,000 in the first week largely due to Top 15 radio hit, “Homeboy.”  The album received Gold certification merely 10 weeks after its release and received a spike of over 60% in sales following his performance of current Top 15 single, “Drink In My Hand,” on the CMA Awards.  PEOPLE Magazine gave Church’s release four-out-of-four stars stating, “If any country album should command your attention right now, it’s CHIEF….  Church is something to praise,” and American Songwriter notes, “Eric Church seems perched at the precipice of superstardom.”  For more information, please visit

Steel Guitar News

Hello fellow players,

This Friday is Black Friday, you know what that means right? There will be Christmas shopping with a passion. As always, I want the steel guitar players in the family to have what they really want for Christmas. Going back through my multitudes of years, I can remember so many things that I wanted my folks to get me.

However, I try not to lose the true meaning of what Christmas is. I’m just a big softie that truly loves Christmas for what it really is. I love the Christmas spirit and I love seeing what it does to other people. That feeling that you learn when you are a youngster I don’t ever want to really go away.

There’s just something that goes way beyond the thought of getting something like a monetary surprise. However, if you’re going to get something, it might as well be something you want.

If you have any young folks in your family that have been bitten by the music bug and would like to give me a call concerning advise on what to get them to make Christmas a special time for them, just let me know and I’ll search back through my memory banks and we’ll come up with something really unique for them.

As I have said before, there are several people that have made it to the halls of the Hall of Fame that other people may not be familiar with. So I’m here to let you know super special insights to the souls that are in this hallowed organization.

James Clayton Day, better known as Jimmy Day is one of these very deserving Hall of Fame members. Jimmy was never a very fast player and was never famous for his big chords and complicated playing on the C6th neck, but oh was he ever loved for the soulful things he played on so many country hits on the E9th neck.

Jimmy worked the road with Jim Reeves and did many great recordings with Jim, one of which was called According To My Heart. Jimmy worked with Ray Price for many years and was featured on many intros and instrumental turnarounds on Ray’s songs. Tunes like Heartaches By The Number, City Lights, Loveless Mansion On The Hill and countless others.

Jimmy worked with Ray right up until or near the end of his existence. Jimmy and I were not close friends in the beginning of our Nashville days, however we were both booked to do the New York City Steel Guitar Show about twenty years ago and I almost didn’t do it because he was on the show, knowing that there would be an argument about something because Jimmy and I couldn’t get close to each other without something igniting a fuse so I got my tickets, went to the airport trying to evade seeing him in the airport and stay away from the boarding area and doing my best to compose something nice to say to him that wouldn’t start a fight, got my boarding pass, made my way down the jetway, went into the front of our 727, worked my way back into the cheap seats reading the seat numbers on top of the seats, found my seat and started to sit down and there was a gentleman already sitting in this cross row.

As I was about to perch, I looked down into his face and sure enough, to my dismay, it was Jimmy Day himself. I thought to myself, oh Lord, this plane ain’t gonna be big enough for the both of us, and he gave me a quick smile and a handshake and I gave him my preconstrued speech which I guess encouraged him to do the same.

Anyway, by the time we got to Idlewild Airport in New York City we were the best of friends and made plans to record an album together which turned out to be the greatest album that Jimmy had ever recorded which we still sell at Steel Guitar Nashville under the name of The Masters Collection.

Jimmy’s playing on E9th neck is as strange and soulful as can be imagined. He never makes a mistake and plays some of the most interesting harmonies that most people would say “That just plain won’t work.” However, Jimmy makes it work and work well. Jimmy’s dexterity with a volume pedal is part of his style.

Jimmy always played in perfect tune, but yet seldom would you ever catch him tuning. He could play the rattiest, most miserable, worn out old Sho-Bud with more soul than anyone would ever believe possible. If you went to have lunch with Jimmy and asked him where he’d like to go, he’d always say, “Whatever you can afford.”

Some of the great tunes that I remember him doing were Pick Me Up On Your Way Down, I Love You Because, and about anything Ray Price did in that era. However, he did a tune with Willie Nelson called I Let My Mind Wander that I think was one of the most beautiful, typical Jimmy Day instrumental solos I have ever heard.

For much of his career he played blue Sho-Bud guitars and then closed out his life playing a beautiful blue birdseye maple Mullen guitar. No matter what guitar he played, he got a very strange, unique tone. I’m sure you can tell that I miss him very much. I’m sorry that we didn’t get to do the last instrumental album together that we had planned.

Jimmy Day, the standard of country E9th players, the inspiration to John Hughey, some of Buddy Emmons style, myself and thousands of others that have been blessed by hearing his beautiful and strange style of playing.

-- A wop bop a loo bop a lop bam boom!

'Tutti Frutti', 'Long Tall Sally', 'Lucille', 'Jenny Jenny', 'Good Golly Miss Molly', 'Baby Face'...

Die Geschichte ihrer frühen Jahre wird in unserer CD mit Sun-Aufnahmen erzählt: The Prisonaires 'Just Walkin' In The Rain' (BCD 15523).

Zu den Titeln gehören 'You Ought To See My Fanny Dance', 'She Can't Be Satisfied', 'Fruit Wagon Gal', 'Around The Corner At Smokey Joe's', 'Who Comes In At My Back Door', 'Hash House Hattie' und 'Look Who's Squawkin''. Noch Fragen...?!
