THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND COMES FULL CIRCLE RETURNING TO VINYL FOR NEW GREATEST HITS RELEASE
New Vinyl Record, The Marshall Tucker Band: Greatest Hits,
to be Released November 22
Contains Previously Unreleased Live Recordings; Includes Digital Download Card
Nashville, TN (November 4, 2011) – Four decades ago, during the early days of The Marshall Tucker Band (MTB), the multi-platinum selling southern rock group never had the option of releasing their music on CD or digitally through online retailers. Those were the years when the MTB and every musical act on the planet depended on the trusty vinyl record as the vehicle for delivering music to the consumer. On November 22, 2011, in celebration of 40 years, the MTB comes full circle with the release of the vinyl edition of The Marshall Tucker Band: Greatest Hits (Shout Factory).
“As we continue to tour, more and more fans are showing up in the autograph lines with their original Marshall Tucker vinyl records, even more so than CDs,” says MTB lead singer and founding member, Doug Gray. “There’s just something cool about vinyl. It’s very retro and I think most people out there will agree that in today’s day and age, retro is ‘in.’ This is an appropriate release for us, especially since we’re celebrating 40 years.”
The 17-track album, a Gatefold Double-LP 180 gram vinyl record, contains some of the MTB’s most notable hits including “Can’t You See,” “Heard It In A Love Song,” “Fire On The Mountain,” “24 Hours At A Time” and “Take The Highway.” Three of the 17 tracks are previously unreleased live concert recordings from an earlier overseas tour.
In the fall of 1976, the MTB traveled to the UK and Europe for the band’s maiden voyage of those territories. The tour featured Bonnie Bramlett and Grinderswitch as supporting acts to the MTB. Then band was red hot in America and the time was right to spread the word to other countries. Doug Gray remembers, “We didn’t know what to expect but from the people at the hotel to the crew at Hammersmith Odeon and finally the sold out crowd all made us feel so welcome, we couldn’t believe it. It was the same in Scotland but with a different accent.” When the band decided to release Greatest Hits in vinyl form, there was extra space available to include live tracks, recorded during tour stops in Glasgow, Scotland and London.
Since turntable record players are no longer a mainstream commodity, the new Greatest Hits vinyl record will contain a digital download card, included to ensure consumer listening.
On coming full circle with the band’s first vinyl release since 1988, Doug Gray notes, “Hey, now for the first time in over 20 years we can say we’re releasing a new ‘record’ and really mean it!”
The vinyl edition of The Marshall Tucker Band: Greatest Hits will be available for purchase later this month in all vinyl record stores, online at Amazon and the MTB's official website, www.marshalltuckerband.com.

BILLY DEAN JOINS KENNY ROGERS ON 2011
"CHRISTMAS & HITS TOUR"
Nashville, Tenn. (November 3, 2011) - GRAMMY Award-winning country music star Billy Dean will join country legend Kenny Rogers to “jingle all the way” from Columbus, Ohio to Westbury, New York on Rogers' 30th "Christmas and Hits Tour" kicking off the day after Thanksgiving.
The country stars will perform a mixture of holiday classics and their respective hits throughout 16 cities for the “Christmas in America” themed tour. The tour makes every concert a unique experience for each city by inviting local children’s choirs to accompany the duo on stage for the show. Dean believes this is a heartwarming aspect of the tour and the part that he enjoys most. “A big highlight is getting to rehearse each day with the local kids who join the show,” says Dean. “To use Kenny's words, ‘it's not Christmas until the choir sings.'"
This holiday season marks Dean's second year joining Rogers on the road for his annual Christmas tour.
“One of my favorite parts of the tour is every afternoon before each show, Kenny comes in to the band dressing room to hang with the guys, warm-up, and share stories,” Dean says.
“Thirty years is a long time to do anything, but a Christmas show seems to get easier every year, especially when I get a chance to work with friends like Billy Dean,” Rogers adds. “He always brings a great energy and beautiful music to the event.”
Billy Dean is an American country music artist who, to date, has snagged thirteen Top 10 hits and holds four RIAA-certified Gold studio albums. Dean’s biggest hits include “Only Here For A Little While,” “Somewhere In My Broken Heart,” “Billy The Kid” and “Let Them Be Little.” Dean also sang harmony (along with Alison Krauss) on Kenny Rogers’ number one hit, “Buy Me A Rose.”

TINK HAMILTON - SUCCESFUL SURGERY
I just received an update from George Hamilton V regarding his Mom’s bypass surgery. The doctors told George IV and family that Tink came through the surgery with flying colors and she will be ready for a complete recovery. The surgeon said that everything they expected they had to do, was done, and there was no unexpected problems.
Once again, I know that our prayers were heard and answered by the Master Surgeon. Our Blessed Savior once again gave guidance to the surgeons hands, and their staff throughout the successful surgery for Tink Hamilton.
George Hamilton IV and his entire family have asked me to thank each of you for your thoughts and prayers for his wife.
I also thank you each of you for sending out your thoughts and prayers.

NEW SINGLE, “I GOT YOU,” CLIMBS INTO TOP 10
DUO FEATURED IN ASSOCIATED PRESS PROFILE
(NASHVILLE, TN) – Stoney Creek Records’ Thompson Square will perform on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, November 9th, following the 45th Annual CMA Awards.
It’s a big night for the rising stars. The husband/ wife duo - comprised of Keifer and Shawna Thompson - are nominated for both Vocal Duo of the Year and the New Artist of the Year at the 2011 CMA Awards and will perform live on the CMA Awards broadcast, also on ABC.
This past Sunday, Thompson Square was featured as the lead item in USA Weekend’s “Who’s News” column under the headline “Who’s Hot In Hollywood.” Coincidentally, the duo had opened for Jason Aldean on his My Kind of Party Tour at the Gibson Amphitheatre in LA only the night before the item published.
Today, Thompson Square is profiled in the Associated Press in a feature chronicling the duo’s 15-year overnight success story.
Thompson Square’s new single, “I Got You,” the carefree, up-tempo crowd favorite, climbed into the Top 10 on the Billboard Country Songs chart and rose to #9 on the Mediabase Country chart this week.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Thompson Square would also perform live on FOX’s 2nd Annual American Country Awards, on Dec. 6th. The duo is nominated for 7 awards that evening and is the 2nd highest nominated act, bested only by multi-platinum superstars Jason Aldean and Zac Brown Band.
One of Country music’s biggest breakout acts of 2011, Thompson Square’s infectious #1 radio single, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not,” is the Most Played Song at Country Radio this year (Mediabase). The single spent 5 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Country Digital Soundscan Chart and has sold 1.5 million downloads to-date. The single also reached #1 on the Billboard Heat Seekers Chart and was the #1 Country Ringtone for 12 weeks straight. Additionally, the 2011 American Music Award nominee for New Artist of the Year is also the only duo to reach #1 on CMT’s Top 50 Artist Chart in 2011.
Since releasing their debut album in February, Thompson Square has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Conan, Fox & Friends and Fox’s Summer Concert Series, as well as been featured in USA Weekend, Entertainment Weekly, People Country, Country Weekly, USA Today, The Washington Post and Billboard. The duo’s follow-up single, "I Got You," is a Top 10 hit. Thompson Square wrapped up a year of touring with multi-platinum country rocker Jason Aldean on his My Kinda Party 2011 Arena Tour last week in California. The duo heads out on the road with Darius Rucker this Friday in Saginaw, MI. Thompson Square will join Lady Antebellum on the road for their Own The Night World Tour 2012 on January 27 in Tulsa, OK.
