"BLUEGRASS JAMBOREE! - 3. FESTIVAL OF BLUEGRASS AND AMERICANA MUSIC"

Here's what your gettin'" mitführen. Wohl die einzige Gelegenheit, an die guten Stücke zu kommen, wenn man sei nicht aus den USA importieren will. Ein unterhaltsamer Abend ist in jedem Fall garantiert.

Interview with Myrycle Mahn
Lamitschka: Music has many new fans throughout Europe who may be hearing about you for the first time. How would you describe yourself and the music you play to someone who has never seen or heard you?
Myrycle Mahn: Extremely diverse. Full of quality, inspiration and true artist creativity.
Lamitschka: How was the last year for you? What were your highlights?
Myrycle Mahn: The last year has been great. I graduated from The Los Angeles Recording School as a Certified Recording Engineer. I also had a chance to work on a project with a award-winning twelve-time platinum producer Keith Clizark. He’s produced for Def Jam Records and Dr. Dre just to name a few. My highlights in the past year have been the creation of my publishing company; Pen And Pad Writings and the release of my debut album “Dufflebag Dreams“. Which is currently available on iTunes (iTunes Store), Amazon MP3, Fox Music and other Digital Music Distribution Sites.
Lamitschka: What is your latest CD and how's it doing?
Myrycle Mahn: My current release “Dufflebag Dreams“ is doing well. The radio singles “Daimoku Glow“ and “The Tale Of Conner And Racine“ are receiving substantial airplay.
Lamitschka: How did you choose the title for the CD? Is there a story behind the name?
Myrycle Mahn: The title of my current release; “Dufflebag Dreams“ has an interesting story. I’m originally from Cleveland, OH and when I relocated to Los Angeles, CA I came with laptop computer, an electric Stratocaster guitar and a duffle bag with some clothes. I was also homeless for three months when I first relocated. So therfore I started my career with a duffle bag full of dreams and now my dream is a reality.
Lamitschka: Do you write the songs yourself? If not, how do you go about finding the songs for your CD?
Myrycle Mahn: Yes, I write all the songs myself. I compose the music, play the instruments, record, master and publish my own music.
Lamitschka: Please tell us about the songs on your album (influences, etc).
Myrycle Mahn: My album’s full of diversification. The song “Daimoku Glow“ is rock and roll. The song “The Tale Of Conner And Racine“ is country. The song “Strawberry Mind“ is pop/r&b. So my album exercises different music genres. My influences are Led Zeppelin, Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, Sade, Miles Davis and Michael Jackson.
Lamitschka: Your current single is being played by radio. What do you feel is special about this song that makes people want to hear it?
Myrycle Mahn: The current single “Daimoku Glow“ is very special to me. After I recorded the song, that night on Saturday January 26,2008. I got robbed on my way home coming from the studio. The robbers just took my wallet and money; they left me with my guitar and recording material. It was that night that I realized I was made for music.
Lamitschka: What will your next single be?
Myrycle Mahn: “The Tale Of Conner And Racine“, it’s a country song. It’s currently receiving airplay also.
Lamitschka: What kind of songs do you like to record the most?
Myrycle Mahn: Rock and Roll, Instrumental, Soul and Hip-Hop
Lamitschka: What is your favorite song among all the songs you have recorded and what's the story behind it?
Myrycle Mahn: The country song; “The Tale Of Conner And Racine“. I wrote the lyrics when I was living in Cleveland, OH and recorded it in Los Angeles, CA. I was living in a rooming house with eleven other people so the song is about one of my roommates and his girlfriend at the time in my hometown of Cleveland, OH.
Lamitschka: Who inspires you musically and how deep do your musical roots run?
Myrycle Mahn: Everyone. I really love listening to music from the 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s.
Lamitschka: Are you doing anything to take music beyond its current borders or are you happy where it is?
Myrycle Mahn: I’m just trying to be the best artist and person that I can be. Hopefully being the best that I can be will inspire the best in all of us and we can take music to the next level.
Lamitschka: What inspired you to become an artist?
Myrycle Mahn: It’s something that I was born with. It’s always been a natural feeling.
Lamitschka: What's unique about you that will differentiate you from other artists?
Myrycle Mahn: My songwriting ability. I write songs for multiple music genres/catagories
Lamitschka: When you get time off, how do you like to relax?
Myrycle Mahn: I like to travel and see the wonders in the world.
Lamitschka: Many European fans travel to the United States to attend the several of the music festivals for the opportunity to see so many of their favorite artists, bands and celebrities. Will you be participating and how will the fans be able to find you?
Myrycle Mahn: Right now I’ve finished most of my shows for this year. My fans can keep updated at: 1)www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Myrycle-Mahn/205519699498434 2)www.penandpadwritings.com 3)www.facebook.com/penandpadwritings
Lamitschka: Is there any place you haven't played that you would like to?
Myrycle Mahn: Maybe the Hollywood Bowl or the Super Bowl.
Lamitschka: Do fans mob you everywhere you go or do they respect your privacy?
Myrycle Mahn: Both. It just depends on the moment.
Lamitschka: Many music fans today get their information about artists online. Do you have your own website and what will fans find there?
Myrycle Mahn: Yes my website address is; www.penandpadwritings.com and my fans can also join the fan club through www.reverbnation.com/myryclemahn . They will find current music, show information, music publishing service information and any information that I would like to share with the public.
Lamitschka: What's your favorite song that you wish you could have recorded?
Myrycle Mahn: Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin.

ABOUT LYNDSEY HIGHLANDER
Like a breath of fresh air, 23 year old Lyndsey Highlander arrived in Nashville from the antebellum town of Providence Forge, VA, near the Chickahominy River. From an early age, Lyndsey was known for her precocious musical talents; it was just a matter of time before she would share her gifts with the world. An inspired writer and top-notch performer, Lyndsey is just now hitting her musical stride. Lyndsey has a style all her own, powered by massive vocal chops, soothing falsettos, and intimate story telling. As a live performer, Lyndsey has been known to mingle with the audience, firing up the crowd and melting their hearts with verses as impressive as her colossal bridges.
ABOUT AARON PARKER
Alabama native Aaron Parker is quickly becoming one of the most powerful voices in country music. With highly energetic shows and unmatched stage presence, Aaron has captured the undivided attention of the music industry. In short, Aaron Parker is the future of Country Music.
In 2010, Aaron loaded up and headed north to Nashville Tennessee. A self-taught writer and guitarist, he naturally placed his energy on writing great country songs. In a very short time Aaron has had the privilege to write with some of Country Music’s best songwriters such Michael Heeney (God Must Be Busy, Love Your Love The Most, Drink In My Hand), & Jim McCormick (We Rode In Trucks), just to name a few. Most recently Aaron was asked to record 4 tracks that will be included on the soundtrack for the Kix Brooks movie “Thriftstore Cowboy” due out in 2012, one of which he wrote. Aaron also just wrapped up writing and recording the new Theme Song for Open Season TV. Aaron Parker has come on like a storm to the world of Country Music and Country Music is better for it. This star is rising quickly.
ABOUT RAY SCOTT
It's his attitude. He does it his way. He says it his way. He knows where country music's been and he knows that he's taking it someplace new. His way is the way of the steel guitar. It's recitation and gospel, with a little blues and rock thrown in for seasoning. But when it simmers to a boil and he serves it up in that deep Carolina drawl, you can't call it anything but country music. Direct connection to the fans is what catapulted the release of independent albums Crazy Like Me, and Ray's latest, soon-to-be released project, Rayality. The last few years on the road playing his brand of outlaw country has paid off and the listeners have responded.
ABOUT DREAD CLAMPITT
Blue-eyed soul grass. Hipbilly. Funky bluegrass fusion. These words have been used to describe Dread Clampitt. With clever heartfelt lyrics and blended three part harmonies, Dread combines humor and a realistic outlook of the world with the sounds of bluegrass, rock & roll, blues, jazz and some Louisiana Bayou funk. Hometown shows in Grayton Beach, FL have become the stuff of legend and earned the band a rabid fanbase the making them a favorite with venues and festivals across the country. Along the way, Dread has won the support and endorsement of notable musical collaborators such as Sam Bush, Sara Evans and Sheryl Crow. In 2010 a documentary film about the evolution of Dread Clampitt called “Back From The Dread” was produced by the Editor of Coastal Living Magazine.
ABOUT WANDA JACKSON
Wanda Jackson, who recently joined British songstress Adele on several dates of her North American tour, returns to the road to continue her own headlining tour that will take her to venues and festivals across the United States and Europe through the fall. Jackson's sets are sure to include songs from her Jack White-produced Third Man / Nonesuch Records debut album, The Party Ain't Over, along with favorites from throughout her decades-long career as the queen of rockabilly.
ABOUT JIM MESSINA
Few musical artists résumés list membership in a band inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame; fewer still can lay claim to being a founding member of the seminal band credited with creating Country Rock; and only one artist can include all the above in addition to being one half of the most successful duo of the 1970s. When chronicling the current commercial and critical success of artists like Keith Urban, Brooks & Dunn, and the pairing of Alison Krauss & Robert Plant for 2009’s Album Of The Year Raising Sand, it is not overstating things to say a direct line can be drawn back to Jim Messina’s legacy with Buffalo Springfield, Poco, and Loggins & Messina.

The New York Times said recently that Dale Ann Bradley's "Come Home Good Boy," is an "affecting, quietly enraged song about sending a child off to war." For Bradley, a 3-time Bluegrass Female Vocalist of the Year, it is a poignant and earnest prayer of a song for all of the loved ones and soldiers of any war, both past and present, inspired by a childhood memory tied to the Vietnam War. The video for the song, from her new album Somewhere South of Crazy, began as a collaboration with military families in Bradley’s Kentucky backyard at the Fort Campbell Base, and soon grew to include The Army Wives Network, Go Army Wives, and more.
Compass Records utilized social networking outlets to reach out across the country to obtain personal photos and remembrances - with a tremendous and moving response. Families of soldiers as far away as Seattle, WA sent thousands of photos, video and passionate stories of their children at war, some living, some recently deceased. Many of the photos were included in the final video, which became a tribute to those families and soldiers. The song is especially poignant during this time of national remembrance.
The performance footage featuring Bradley, Sierra Hull and Steve Gulley, was shot at Carnton Plantation in Franklin, TN, a historic home that served as an Army hospital during The Civil War. Produced by Compass Records and Veritas Media Group and directed by Joseph Spence, the song is a mother's message to her young soldier son, wishing for his safe return home, "come home good boy/ you ain't playing anymore/do the best that you can/to make it through real war." Bradley's last music video for "Don't Turn Your Back" the title track from her last album, was chosen as a fan favorite on CMT Pure – beating out Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and Alan Jackson and hitting the #2 spot that July.
