Nashville, TN (August 26, 2011) – In just 20 minutes today, all 2,300 tickets to The Band Perry's first headlining show in Nashville, TN at the Ryman Auditorium on February 20, 2012 were sold out. The immediate response to the upcoming show echoes the overwhelming welcome the sibling trio has received by Country music fans nationwide since their debut album, THE BAND PERRY, was released in October 2010.

In today's edition of The Tennessean, Kimberly Perry - lead vocalist for the trio that also includes brothers Reid and Neil - spoke emotionally about headlining the historic venue in a town that has already given them so muchsupport. “It’s an amazing thing. So much of our creative efforts have come inside Nashville … and it’s the center of our creativity. We so much revere that (Ryman) stage. And I feel like there’s an amazing spirit about that place.”

While TBP has previously graced the Ryman stage during the Grand Ole Opry and other multi-artist events, this will be their debut as headliners on this revered stage.

With their brand-new romantic ballad, "All Your Life" just now arriving on the airwaves and shaping up to be their next big hit, tickets to the February date will surely be one of Nashville's most sought after Valentine's Day gifts.

ABOUT THE BAND PERRY: The Band Perry's "modern throwback" style combines classic Country with an eclectic infusion of Rock, Gospel and Soul. As songwriters and musicians, their sound is distinct and rounded out by the rare magic of perfect three-part harmonies. Released in October 2010 by Republic Nashville, the self-titled debut album, THE BAND PERRY was certified Gold just four monthsafter it arrived in stores and is now poised to go Platinum by the end of 2011. The album contains the Double-Platinum, Grammy-nominated, #1 hit single, "If I Die Young"; the Gold-certified cheatin' anthem, "You Lie," which reached the #2 spot on Country Charts; their light-hearted, uptempo debut single, "Hip To My Heart"; and of course, their latest ballad, "All Your Life."

In June 2011, The Band Perry won the CMT Music Award for USAWEEKEND Breakthrough Video of the Year (fan-voted) and was chosen as Country music's best new live act in a category sponsored by Nationwide Insurance (fan-voted). In April 2011, they earned ACM Awards for both the fan-voted New Duo or Group of the Year and the coveted New Artist of the Year. TBP has also been nominated for Grammy, CMA, TEEN CHOICE and ACA awards.

They have performed on the TODAY Show, The View, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and have been profiled by E! News, CNN, Extra, Access Hollywood and Fox & Friends. In August 2011, Washington Post pop music critic, Chris Richards referred to The Band Perry as "the best new band in Country" and profiled the many facets of the self-proclaimed "purveyors of performance" in a Sunday cover story. Additionally, they have graced the cover of Pollstar and Music Connection and have been featured in a wide range of print publications from USA Today to People magazine. The sibling trio toured with Tim McGraw throughout the summer andrecently announced their own headlining tour, which includes support dates for Keith Urban, Reba and and yet-to-be-announced dates with one of Country music's major touring forces.  On February 20, 2012 they will take the stage at the Ryman Auditorium for their first headlining performance in Nashville.

Los Angeles, CA – August 26, 2011 – Taylor Swift is two shows in to a sold-out four-show run at Los Angeles’ STAPLES Center, and as she did with her four New York-area shows last month, she has impressed some of the nation’s toughest critics.
Here’s what top West Coast critics had to say this week about Taylor’s SPEAK NOW show:
Variety lauded Taylor as an “increasingly interesting” performer, and praised her show as “a supreme spectacle that could well mark a turning point in her career” writing that, “Swift's 2011 tour will likely go down as the estrogen-skewing equivalent of Motley Crue's ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ tour of 1987.”
The Los Angeles Times dubbed Taylor the “poet laureate of heartland millennial romance,” praising her “tradition-rich writing” and raving, “At Staples on Tuesday, she succeeded at her most difficult task as a writer and performer yet. She made the life of a self-aware arena star feel relatable and true to fans both within the proximity of her adopted new home and to those farther-flung…”
Taylor played to capacity crowds of more than 13,600 fans a night in back-to-back LA shows, and on both nights Taylor was joined by a special guest – on Tuesday, Justin Bieber joined her on stage for a version of his hit “Baby,” and Wednesday Jason Mraz was in the house to duet on “I’m Yours.” She continues her run at STAPLES this weekend on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
In response to strong fan demand, Taylor is taking the SPEAK NOW tour to Australia and New Zealand in March of next year. After sell-outs this week on initial dates, four additional shows were added to the itinerary. The current 2012 schedule includes:

Neue Single "What A Man"

Weitere Bonus-Titel sind die Live-Versionen der Songs "I Like To Bang My Head", "Good News", "Taken By A Stranger", "Satellite" und "New Shoes".

Platz in Düsseldorf.

Gatlin Provides Backup Vocals on Virgo's "California,"
Cover of "All The Gold In California"

John Rich Co-Produces Reggae’s Gone Country Album; Hits Stores August 30

Nashville, Tenn (August 25, 2011) – Country music legend Larry Gatlin never thought he would see the day when a major Jamaican reggae star would cut his Gatlin Brothers classic hit, “All The Gold In California,” island-style.  Now, thanks to the producer credentials of country music mega-star John Rich (Warner Music Nashville), Cristy Barber, a Grammy-nominated producer and VP of Marketing and Promotions for VP Records (the world’s largest reggae label), Charlie Pennachio, Chris Chin, Raymond Barber and Jamaican music heavyweight Dean Fraser, the crossover has been made possible with the upcoming release of Reggae’s Gone Country.

Last week, Billboard Magazine previewed the upcoming Reggae’s Gone Country album (currently slated for an August 30 release).  On the country and reggae historical background, editor Patricia Meschino explained, “Jamaica began its longstanding romance with country music when the island’s first commercial radio station, Radio Jamaica and Rediffusion, began broadcasting in July 1950 with country and western tunes on its playlist.  Since then, the music synonymous with America’s heartland has enjoyed widespread popularity in reggae’s birthplace.”

The 13-track album includes some of reggae’s biggest stars singing some of country music’s greatest songs. Covering Gatlin's classic hit, "All The Gold In California" is 21-year-old Romain Virgo, who, in 2007 won Digicel Rising Stars, the Jamaican equivalent of American Idol. Renamed California,” the song is the only track on the album to feature contributing vocals by its original singer and writer.  Watch the music video to "California" by clicking HERE.

"While growing up, country music was a significant part of the collection in the house, because my mom loved it so much,” says Virgo.  “Even though I was young at the time and didn’t know the names of most of the artists, I remember hearing ‘All The Gold
In California.’  As a result, it was such an amazing feeling when I was asked to be a part of this project and remake the Gatlin Brothers’ timeless classic and one that I grew up hearing."

On Virgo, Gatlin notes, “Romain Virgo is a wonderful young man.  He is really a terrific singer and performer.  I’m grateful for his friendship and am honored that he chose ‘All the Gold’ on this new album. Also, a ‘tip of the hat’ to John Rich for letting me come along on the ride.”

Virgo adds, “I am happy, honored and humbled to be a part of this reggae and country fusion on Reggae’s Gone Country and Larry’s personality made me feel comfortable during the process.  Not only is he someone I look up to musically, but he is an extremely humble and humorous person who immediately makes you feel at home."

Hank Williams Jr. - www.hankjr.comNashville, TN (August 25, 2011) – Hank Williams Jr., a five-time Entertainer of the Year recipient and the only country artist to ever win an Emmy award (multiple, by the way), has been named #13 of Billboard Magazine’s Top 25 Country Artists from 1985-2011.  Earlier this summer, Billboard ranked the top 25 country artists of the last twenty-five years, combing their Country Songs and Country Album charts since 1985.

Anyone who thinks country music didn’t attract a sizeable youth audience before te early 90’s must have slept through Hank Williams Jr.’s chart run during the previous decade.  He first appeared on Country Songs in 1964 with a cover of his legendary father’s 1950 smash “Long Gone Lonesome Blues,” but found a new, youthful following starting in the mid-70’s.   He reosnited with rebellious young fans via songs like “Family Tradition” and “Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound” and notched successful version of his father’s hits, such as “Honky Tonkin’.”  At one point in the mid-80’s, the younger Williams simultaneously had six titles on Billboard’s Country Albums chart.

Williams’ raw creativity and passion has shaped the history of country music for over five decades.   Williams boasts three multi-platinum albums, eight platinum albums and has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. Williams holds the distinction of being the first country artist to ever win an Emmy, a feat he repeated 1990 through 1993 for his Monday Night Football anthem, “Are You Ready for Some Football?”

A true visionary on all fronts, Williams paired up with friend Waylon Jennings in 1983 for his first music video “The Conversation.” The following year he called on some more famous friends to create the video for his 1984 signature hit “All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight,” which featured a “who’s who” of country music names including George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and George Thorogood.  Williams went on to conceptualize dozens of music videos, including the 1989 duet with his late father “There’s a Tear in My Beer,” which used cutting-edge production techniques to appear as if the father and son duo were actually performing together in the video.

How This Chart Was Created
The Top Country Artists 1985-2011 ranking is based on actual performance on the weekly Country Songs and Country Albums charts dated Jan. 5, 1985 – June 4, 2011.  Artists are ranked based on an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at the lower end of the chart earning the least.

Prior to the Country Songs chart’s implementation in January 1990 of monitored radio airplay by Nielsen BDS and the Country Albums list’s incorporation of point-of-purchase sales date from Nielsen SoundScan in May 1991, titles on those lists had shorter reigns at No. 1 and shorter chart lives.  To ensure equitable representation from all 25-plus years, earlier time frames were each weighted to account for the difference between turnover rates from those years and the turnover rates that have occurred since the advent of Nielsen music data.
