NEON is produced by James Stroud and features 10 songs, including 7 that are co-penned by Young.  A deluxe version of the album is available at iTunes and features two bonus tracks plus a photo gallery.

ABOUT CHRIS YOUNG: Recently nominated for his first GRAMMY® Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance with his hit, “Gettin’ You Home,” Young is currently out on the road with Jason Aldean on his sold out My Kinda Party Tour.  With his rich, warm baritone and penchant for writing relatable, slice-of-life songs, Young has emerged as a fan-favorite with three consecutive #1s at radio. "Tomorrow," the GOLD single from the brand new album NEON, is currently screaming up the country charts.  For tour dates and all the latest information on Chris Young, visit and follow him on Twitter @ChrisYoungMusic.

The upcoming Summer 2011 Rebel Records release will feature
the guest vocals of Rhonda Vincent and songwriting of Tom T. and Dixie Hall
NASHVILLE, Tennessee (July 19, 2011) -Junior Sisk and Ramblers Choice  and Rebel Records announced their latest Rebel Records album titled "The Heart of a Song" will be available late Summer 2011. The new project will feature the guest vocals of Rhonda Vincent on the duet number "The Sound of Your Name".  The album will also feature the songwriting talents of Tom T. and Dixie Hall.  The new release comes on the heels of the chart topping success of their last album "Heartaches and Dreams"   which produced a number #1 song in "Train Without a Track" and remained the top album on the Bluegrass Unlimited Charts for the over four months, charting the last ten months.
"We are very proud of this new album. It is the best work we have done to date." said Junior Sisk. "We feel it has just the right amount of traditional and new music and just like "Heartaches and Dreams" will feature the great songwriting of Tom T. and Dixie Hall. We were also excited to record with Rhonda Vincent. She has an incredible voice and we blended together very well. I hope everyone will enjoy our efforts with "The Heart of a Song". We look forward to a stellar year for the band the rest of 2011 and for many years to come."
Tom T. and Dixie Hall contribute new material to Junior Sisk and Ramblers Choice's "The Heart of Song" with "The Grave Robber". The song is an interesting tale with a twist at the end that leaves chills on the back of your neck.
"We are very excited to be working Junior and the band for this new release" said Mark Freeman of Rebel Records. "We look forward to his records and really enjoy his music. It fits well with the traditions of Rebel Records"
Sisk has lived most of his life in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia an area he still calls home. Growing up he learned to play the music that surrounded him in the mountains. He has had an incredible career in bluegrass music and has been nominated many times for Songwriter and Male Vocalist of the Year through IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) and the SPBGMA.  In 2011 the band was nominated in 8 categories at the SPBGMA awards and expects nominations from IBMA for this year's awards in September. With this success they can expect many more years of nominations and accolades.
The band continues to tour in 2011 with nearly 100 dates planned or in the works through the end of the year.  The 2011 tour dates will take them across most of the United States and portions of Canada and a cruise to the Caribbean in October.  They will start performing songs from the new CD on their stage shows soon.

Taylor Swift - Sparks Fly (CD Single Review)

Taylor Swift - Sparks Fly (CD Single Review)

Label - Big Machine
Time - 4:21
Writer - Taylor Swift
Producers - Nathan Chapman, Taylor Swift
Rating (Out of 10) : 7/10

Sparks Fly’ is the fourth single to be released by the effervescent Miss Swift from her 2010 album SPEAK NOW. It impacted on country radio on Monday July 18th, 2011. It was rumoured but never confirmed that it was written about Jake Owen who Taylor opened for in 2006. It became a firm favourite with her army of fans at her live shows, when she showcased it back in 2008. The lyrics were tweaked for the album cut. This number has become the opener on the Speak Now world tour.
Swift’s heart also receives a tweak like an involuntary muscle when falling for a new beau, as opposites attract with its good girl meets bad boy perspective. The chemistry is potent, although she knows that caution would be a wise option she’s hooked and ready to fall like a house of cards – “You're the kind of reckless that should send me runnin' “ – but there’s a note of fear – “Just close enough to touch, Close enough to hope you couldn't see, What I was thinking of “

With wild abandonment and urgency her guard has lowered, in the chorus she sings relentlessly: “Drop everything now/ Meet me in the pouring rain / Kiss me on the sidewalk, take away the pain / Cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile

There’s a cocktail of emotions in the song lines when captivated (“Get me with those green eyes, baby”) and then mildly troubled (“Give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around”)

The tempo is mostly upbeat on this flirtatious country-pop work out with crunchy guitar prominent throughout but piano audible during its softer subtle shades.

In May Swift took home 3 Billboard Music Awards for the all-genre Top 200 Albums Artist, Top Country Artist, and her now-Triple-Platinum Speak Now album was voted Top Country Album. Taylor has career record sales now in excess of 20 million albums and 33 million song downloads and regular trades places with Lady Gaga as the top-selling digital artist.

On 12th June Taylor sparkled in a gold mini-dress and with her band closed out the 2011 CMA Festival at LP Field in Nashville. As the final notes rang out the fireworks exploded overhead.

This single should see the superstar rocket up the country charts and create a “firework show” all of her own.

The Grand Ole OPRY Boys…

The Grand Ole OPRY Boys…
by Joseph S. Bonsall
Joseph S. Bonsall - The Oak Ridge Boys On July 8th, upon the legendary stage of THE Grand Ole Opry, in between Y’all Come Back Saloon and Elvira, history was made. The oldest living Opry star, Little Jimmy Dickens, strode onto the stage dressed as William Lee Golden and surprised us all by announcing that The Oak Ridge Boys were to become the newest members of the prestigious sisterhood and brotherhood that IS the Grand Ole Opry! That night is now etched in music and Oaks’ history. The official induction will take place August 6th on the same stage.
We should have known something was afoot when so many friends showed up for just a quick Friday night Opry appearance. But, as usual, we were really pounding out a huge schedule, which included a ton of studio time. We were a bit tired and totally caught off guard when Dickens appeared behind us dressed in a full fake beard, cowboy hat, and dark shades.
"I have always wanted to be a little bitty Oak Ridge Boy. You don't know this, but on August 6th, I will become the newest member of the Oak Ridge Boys and you all will become the next members of the Grand Ole Opry," he announced.
As Duane Allen would say, “HOLY MOLEY!”
What an emotional night. We came offstage to confront a ton of cameras and press from newspapers and TV stations, all the while trying to process this astounding honor. The WOW factor was overwhelming, because we did NOT see this coming! It was a total surprise.
So then…it is now a week later and, as the accolades and congratulations continue to pour in from literally around the world, I have had some time to ponder and, indeed, process the honor. For seven straight days now we have received tons of Tweets and Facebook posts. Our inboxes have been chock full of texts and emails regarding the Opry, which is a testimony in and of itself to the power of this great tradition in country music.
Many friends and peers have expressed surprise that we weren’t members sooner. Many thought we WERE members, and others have lamented the “what took so long?” approach. My thoughts are that the time frame does not matter. The end result is that, out of the clear unsuspecting blue, we went to bed last week as the newest members of the Grand Ole Opry.
THIS is what matters!
In my humble opinion, or as my granddaughter might say, IMHO, there may be several reasons why the time is now and was not THEN for The Oak Ridge Boys. It is my observation that the Opry was very different in the late 70’s and early 80’s, when The Oak Ridge Boys were topping the charts and selling out coliseums. Many of the older stars back then did not seem to embrace the newer acts as much as today.
The Grand Ole Opry is bigger than it has ever been right now, and I believe that the cutting edge leadership of Colin Reed, Dave Kloeppel, Steve Buchanan, Pete Fisher, and their associates, including Gina Keltner, has everything to do with it. Maintain the tradition of the great older acts and bring in a healthy mix of the young stars, the likes of which are lifting country music to newer heights with every passing moment.
Bring Trace and Carrie and Brad and Dierks and Blake and Josh into the fold and, along with Little Jimmy Dickens, Bill Anderson, Jim Ed Brown, Jeannie Seely, and such, the Opry becomes a winning situation, making people of all ages very happy that they bought a ticket. The Opry has also expanded to Tuesdays and Fridays and has added special events, like Classic Country nights and a Bluegrass series, so Saturday night scheduling conflicts cease to be as much of an issue.
Still, as years went by and The Oak Ridge Boys continued to pound away at our blessed career, I had thought our time to join the Opry might have sadly passed us by. I always figured that, although I felt their love and respect, we had gotten lost in the passing time warps and eras—that the Opry membership boat had sailed away.
That is why tears were shed last Friday. That is why the outpouring of love and support to the Opry and to the Boys. I am not sure what the “it’s about time” thing really means, because I had no high expectations here.
I have been thrilled to know Pete Fisher as a good friend and a fellow Twitter buddy, and we have always been happy to sing a few songs upon the hallowed stage when asked. In so doing, we have ALWAYS felt a small part of the magic that IS the Grand Ole Opry. But it is different now. We can now call ourselves OPRY stars…official MEMBERS!
It is indeed one of the highest honors that might exist for a singer of songs and, to a man, we are proud and humbled. It is seriously like a bunch of friends have been asking us over for dinner for years and this time they said, “Hey BOYS pack a bag… you are moving in now… THIS is HOME!”
Home at last…to the Grand Ole Opry Boys.

Nashville, Tennessee –July 19, 2011 – Summer 2011 has been all about record breaking heat across America—a memorable time for one of the country/bluegrass industry’s hottest young artists –Nathan Stanley--to be doing a little ‘record breaking’ of his own.
Stanley’s latest radio single, Folsom Prison Blues, has just topped at the number #1 spot on the Power Source Country Charts Top 75—bringing the original 1955 Sun release of the Johnny Cash penned hit to re-connect with a new generation of listeners.  The fact that the delivery system to bring a classic country song to a re-visit at the top of the charts  happens to be an artists who is the musical heir to the Stanley family legend is a sweet victory to 18 year old Nathan Stanley.   His love of the “traditional” is exceeded only by his appreciation of his legacy as the grandson of industy pioneer, Dr. Ralph Stanley.
Nathan noted on the #1 of Folsom Prison Blues:
“A lot of young people don’t even know these older artists—normally they don’t get exposed to the giants because that’s not what Nashville is pushing right now. It's not considered the cool thing.  By hearing me—someone my age doing this kind of music—I think it will be discovered by a new generation of listeners.  Country music is great! It started with pioneers like Jimmie Rogers and the Carter Family—then Bill Monroe and The Stanley Brothers. All down the line I’m in love with the history and the older generation artists who founded everything we  have today and I want to share that love of their music with other people.  I want other folks to hear my music and want to learn more about the great tradition of artists who came before me.”
Last week marked the release of Nathan’s performance/concept video of yet another great country classic—Long Black Veil.  Nathan’s 2011 update of the 1959 classic hit for Lefty Frizzell written by legendary country tunesmiths Danny Dill and Marijohn Wilkin is more compelling proof of the young artist’s belief that “hits are ageless.”
Filmed in historic Watertown, Tennessee with additional footage shot in nearby Lebanon, the mournful tale of Long Black Veil, from prison to grave, captures a score of famous faces—including Dr. Ralph & Jimmi Stanley, Ralph Stanley II,  The Clinch Mountain Boys, Laura Dodd, and a cameo appearance by Gene Higgins, President of the Christian Country Music Association. The video is being promoted by Aristo Media in Nashville in conjunction with HMG Music.
In the midst of a new generation of fans embracing his music, Nathan Stanley is a young man on the go.  In addition to his own concert dates, Nathan is a centerpiece of the energetic tour schedule Dr. Ralph maintains into his eighth decade of making music. Still based in Virginia, Nathan makes frequent business trips to Nashville where he oversees the operation of his own newly formed label, Stanley Generation Records.  In addition to his own music the label hosts a growing stable of artists including Ralph Stanley II and emerging new artist, Laura Dodd.

High on the list of things “to do” this summer is Nathan’s August 13-14th performance at the much anticipated Dukes Of Hazzard Homecoming being held ‘Back In The Blue Ridge’ of Sperryville, Virginia.  Ben Jones –‘Cooter’ on the original TV series and founder of Cooter’s Place is hosting the original cast and an expected overflow crowed of fans for the two day event which Nathan will decidedly  help keep ‘traditional’ on the music side.  Nathan can count ‘Cooter’ among his fans in Hazzard County,  Ben Jones notes on the website for the Dukes of Hazzard Homecoming: "It is really gratifying for me to hear a young performer who has a respect for the great artists of ‘real country.’  Nathan is the real deal.  He has paid his dues, learned his craft and found his niche.”
Nathan Stanley music is distributed by Sony Red and promoted by HMG Nashville. He is booked by Acts Nashville.

Multi award winning singer/songwriter Lucie Diamond has joined the UKSC team and she will help to select winners of the next contest. She is also looking for new songs for her next album and will be watching out for suitable UKSC entries. Lucie first shot to fame in 2006 when she beat Dolly Parton and Faith Hill by winning Female Artist of the Year and also Country Artist of the Year at The European Country Awards. Since then she has toured the world, had great success and topped the charts in many countries. She was described by the UK's biggest selling newspaper, The Sun, as “A cross between Leanne Rimes and Joss Stone” and "The UK's number one country music export".

Although hugely successful in the international country music scene Lucie has told us that she is now keen to move on as she expands into other styles close to her heart, but will still record in Nashville as not to completely lose her style.
The UK Songwriting Contest provides an opportunity for budding songwriters to have their work showcased to top music industry professionals in London and to be discovered and recorded by well known producers. With an annual prize fund of over £300,000 it is one of the world's most popular songwriting events and every year it receives thousands of entries from songwriters from all over the globe. It was launched in 2002 in association with the BRIT TRust (of BRIT Awards fame) to encourage and promote the art of songwriting and over the years The BRIT School, The BRIT Studio, Roland UK, Music Aid International and BBC Radio have all supported the event.

The UKSC team of judges includes many top industry names including producer Stuart Epps (Elton John, Robbie Williams, Led Zeppelin, Bill Wyman, Paul Weller, Oasis), BRIT Award winning producer, songwriter and musical director Simon Ellis (S Club 7, Britney Spears) and producer and arranger Richard Niles (Paul McCartney, Kylie Minogue, Boy Zone, Take That, Mariah Carey, Cliff Richard). UKSC winner, Natalie Chua, was spotted and signed by Simon Cowell (she went on to receive a Platinum Album Award for her work with Simon's band Angelis) and many other contest entrants have been signed to publishing and recording deals.

The UKSC is pleased to announce that singer/songwriter Lucie Diamond has joined the prestigious team of judges and we believe she will be a very valuable addition to the judging panels.
Watch out for her next album which will feature an exciting new mix of sounds! Find out more at page
